The test (3)

The second golem followed after him, Noah felt that this golem would be a lot more dangerous than the previous ones. Noah felt slightly scared of approaching it.

The giant golem systematically crawled towards him, however, it wouldn't reach him anytime soon. Running above the shattered statues had proven itself hard, as he almost tripped twice. When the sword-armed golem reached him it threw a kick. After dodging it he slashed its leg.

His danger sense shouted, without thinking he rolled in between the golem's legs. Its arm flew right through the previous spot he had been, dry saliva ran down his throat. He chopped off the golem's legs and it fell on its feet. He took heavy breaths as he ran rolled away from the golem. It brandished its arms at Noah, signalling that it would cut him the second he came close.

Noah slowly approached it, every time it would attempt to hit him its balance faltered and it would have to recover. He baited an attack and when it was regaining its composure, he ran in and cut off its arm.

After cutting off its arm the rest crumbled into stone. His attention returned to the large giant which had crawled really close, there was a strong dedication in its eyes.

He lightly ran around, simply regaining his breath from the previous fight and when he felt ready to fight, he approached it. The statue lifted its hands and tried to squash Noah, as the hand hit the floor it vibrated quite heavily. Noah simply dodged with a backstep, but if he had been two meters closer, he'd be flattened right now.

After it had hit the floor the arm, it was still. He took that opportunity to slash into its arm, he got halfway through before it began rising up into the air. He walked wall out of its range, but it didn't let its arm fall down. Its other arm began making a swimming motion, as it started crawling towards him.

He walked forward and only then did the arm fall down. He backstepped it, he felt the air from the arm brush against him. He cut off one of the giants arm, and it turned into shattered stone.

The floor morphed into quicksand, all the stone slowly sank into the floor. Noah was taking heavy breaths as he looked around, strangely he wasn't falling into the quicksand. Then it reverted back to stone. The hardened statue on the other side and him were the only things left in the room.

It slowly grew alive, parts of its skin turned into clay. The body was made completely out of clay, there was no stone armour. It had a sharp stone sword in its arm when it moved towards Noah his eyes instantly widened. Instead of beelining it towards him it slowly marched over.

Intelligence is the most dangerous thing it could've shown, it stood in a proper swordsman stance, with its sword held high and it's body-wide. Noah pointed his daggers towards the golem.

This would be a one on one fight, his entire focus shifted towards the Golem. The room turned black, the ground, the walls, the roof all disappeared and what was left was the golem and him. They slowly moved towards each other.

A sudden burst of movement, its sword struck out towards Noah and he couldn't dodge it, he parried it with his daggers but failed and got a strong hit to his stomach. A mighty urge to bend over flashed, Noah resisted it keeping his balance.

The pain had not come yet, there was an uncomfortable feeling where he had gotten hit, but nothing more. The body was forcefully blocking the pain keeping his attention on the enemy. The sword tip wasn't sharp enough to pierce his skin.

Noah was a lot more careful now, he had not expected such speed from the golem. It was clear that this entity would be a whole other fight from the other golems.

They started circulating around each other, waiting for the other one to attack. One clean attack was enough for him to win the fight, the issue was that the same went for the golem, one critical hit and it was over.

It swung its sword, Noah backstepped the attack, the sword still managed to scratch the tip of his nose, it splinted the top part of his nose making it bleed, the wind caused from the wind slapped his face.

They continued circling each other, he had to go for an attack but he got an ominous feeling. It was the same feeling he had gotten from versing Ferro, every scenario in his head played out with him dying.

He continued circling it, hoping for a mistake that never came. It took another hit, he went for a parry! His dagger flew through the sword, and then he felt a sharp sting in his leg.

There was some sort of trick it had used, the sword had cut a good part into his leg and blood was gushing out, he still felt no pain, only a sense of euphoria. His focus was completely on the golem, he did not feel despair yet.

He felt himself grow ever calmer, he had to go for an attack. He'd have to somehow beat it, he thought of a nasty suicidal attack and decided to try it.

They slowly started approaching each other preparing for another clash, Noah approached the golem a bit slower due to his injury. Then the golem went for another attack, this attack was aimed for his waist. Instead of blocking Noah tried and slashed the golem.

He landed his strike on its arm wielding the sword and chopped its arm removing its sword. The sword was now stuck into his waist, still no pain. The golem didn't give up yet, and it didn't have a reason to. Noah was heavily injured, a single strike could put him out.

Instead of backing off. it went for a kick, Noah knew a technique he had used it on Ferro once after seeing it in a brawl. He jumped towards the golem but with enough vertical pressure to make him fall backwards, he felt blood spray out of his leg when he exerted it. His mind felt wearier than before.

His legs landed on the Golems shoulder and his feet twisted around its head, now for the second part of the attack, Noah's hands twisted on the floor giving it enough moment to the legs to send anyone flying. Instead, the golem's head simply detached.

The golems entire body crumpled into stone, a green light illuminated throughout Noah's body. His wounds had regenerated and in front of him, in the middle of his vision it said

'You have passed the test of strength, please continue'
