Help

"Jungkook? Are you ok?" Taehyung asks resting his hand on Jungkook's.

Jungkook had been silent for some time now, fighting back anger and sadness all at the same time. When Jungkook was invited to join Taehyung at his meeting with the elder that day, he had no idea that his whole world would be turned upside down. He didn't know what to think or what to say, so he did nothing.

"Mr. Jeon I know I can not excuse my role in what happened to your family, but I had not known what was happening until it was too late. I saw how the council was covering its tracts, so I recorded everything I knew. I have tried to keep track of everything I have seen that seemed suspicious, but over the years I can not make sense of what their bigger plan is. If I had to guess based on passed events, is they wanted to remove Amaroks from existence, but then at the bonding ceremony I found out what you were, I became unsure." The elder admitted.

Jungkook let out a deep sigh. "I honestly don't know what to think about everything you have told me, but over the last 10 years more people have been fighting for light and dark creatures to live together and not be separated anymore. They have been writing petitions saying that real peace is when we can all live together. If this goes against the council's original plans, they may have allowed me to bond with Tae to appease the protesters. To make it look like they agree or are trying to take the people's feelings seriously, while still killing off an entire race without anyone knowing." Jungkook dropped his head feeling his eyes burning.

"That would make sense. A half truth is technically not a lie. If they show half of their plan that looks best to the world then no one will suspect what's really happening." Taehyung added.

"But it must be more than that, because now they are giving the suppressants to people like Tae, light creatures as well. Do the suppressants Tae is given have the same effects?" Jungkook said thinking out loud.

Taehyung had not thought about that. Would the drugs he was taking hurt him the same way?

"I agree. Their plan must have grown past just wanting to kill off the Amaroks." The elder agreed.

"And what is our plan exactly?" Jungkook says in anger.

"Jungkookie..."Taehyung says trying to calm him down.

"I'm sorry Tae but, these people killed my grandfather. They orphaned my mother! They destroyed my family, and are trying to kill off everyone like me. How should I feel right now?" Jungkook said standing with a huff, and pacing back and forth.

He had never felt so angry before, he felt like his blood was literally boiling. Taehyung had never seen Jungkook this upset and was not sure how to calm him, and he wasn't even sure if he should try. Jungkook had every right to be angry after the things had been told. Taehyung didn't want to make Jungkook more upset, but he didn't want him to think he was alone in all this. They had not needed to use their telepathy with each other before, but he thought now was a time it may be needed. Taehyung focused his thoughts on Jungkook, and tried to reach out to his mind.

"Jungkookie…can you hear me?" Taehyung asks trying to get Jungkook to open his mind to him. "Jungkookie, please listen to me. You have every right to be angry, but please talk to me. You are not alone, Ok? We will fight this together and make the people who are responsible pay for what they have done."

Jungkook heard him and felt his anger slowly cooling as Taehyung continued to talk to him. He stood watching Taehyung look at him with a empathetic smile, and it was hard to stay angry at the sight of his caring mate. So he took a deep breathe and turned to the Elder again.

"Elder, you have told us everything, but you still have not told us what we need to do." Jungkook said still trying to calm down. "If you are asking for our help, you must have something you need us to do."

The Elder had no plan, he had speculation and bits of information with no real explanation to their meaning. He had events that he had witnessed in the past that don't seem to make sense in themselves. Aside from the events related to Jungkook's family, there had not been any one clear clue to what the council had planned at this point. He had hoped that Taehyung would be in a position to know what the council is discussing in chambers, and maybe piece things together.

"So, in other words, you don't have a plan." Jungkook said defeated.

Taehyung was trying not to have such a negative outlook. "Maybe we don't have a plan to stop the council yet because we don't have enough information. I will talk to my mom and see if I can get her to share some of the things the council is currently deliberating about. I will just tell her that I want to shadow her and see how she handles the day to day issues. I think she will agree. If I can get a look at what the council is discussing, maybe there is something we can use." Taehyung said confidently but looking to Jungkook to see his reaction.

Jungkook had his head lowered looking down at his hands lost in thought.

"Jungkook, what do you think?" Taehyung asked.

"I am worried. I don't want the council to suspect that you are looking into things. I want you to be very careful Tae. We have been told what they are capable of, and with your powers effected by suppressants, you can't defend yourself." Jungkook said glancing at Taehyung with concern.

Taehyung softened at Jungkook's words. "I know, but I am the only one who can do this. I am in the right position that I can find something, anything to give us a lead." Taehyung rested his hand on Jungkook's arm.

"You told me Taehyung that you and Jungkook can speak to each other telepathically, is that correct?" The Elder asked.

"Yes." Taehyung said skeptically.

"Do you know how far away you can be from Jungkook before you can not reach him?" The Elder asked with a voice that sounded like he had an idea.

"We haven't had a chance to test it. Why?" Taehyung asks.

"Maybe Jungkook can connect with you while you are trying to find information, and you can ask for help if you are in danger at all." The Elder suggested.

"We have only used it once or twice, wont that require a large amount of energy to maintain for a long period?" Taehyung asks.

"You may only be able to keep the connect for about an hour before it becomes too much. You would have to find what you can and end the connection before you grow too weak." The elder told them.

Taehyung said nothing, just turned his attention to Jungkook and waited for him to say something.

Jungkook always wanted to keep Taehyung safe, and as his alpha side becomes more apparent it seems to be all he can think about. With all this happening he can only fear that Taehyung will be hurt, and he wouldn't be able to do anything to stop it. He knew Taehyung had to do this, that it was important, but after all that he heard the only thing he cared about was his mate.

"Tae, I know you have to do this, and I know that it's the only option right now. I want to always support you, but I don't want you to get hurt. We need to find a way to restore your power, with out the council knowing." Jungkook said sitting forward and leaning his elbows on his legs.

Taehyung thought for a moment. He knew Jungkook was being protective and he knew how worried he was, but he was right. If Taehyung could restore his power, he would have an upper hand. The council members had claimed they had given up their own powers when joining to prevent any manipulation to their decisions, but Taehyung was not sure this was true either. So many lies and secrets he didn't know what to believe at this point.

"The doctor has been with my family since I was a boy I don't think he would hurt me if he knew what was going on." Taehyung said.

"However, he also works for the council, and he is one of the only people who has access to the suppressants and is allowed to administer it. Are you sure his loyalty to the council will not be stronger than his connection to your family?" The Elder asks.

"I don't know. I always thought I could trust him, but who else can help me restore my power? What we are doing is dangerous no matter what, but we may need more than just the three of us if we are going to fix what the council has done. This is no small task, and any help we can get we need it." Taehyung added.

"Yes, you are right. This matter is bigger than the three of us can do on our own. I know of a another Elder that may be able to help us, but he has gone into isolation. He may not be easy to convince. He has chosen isolation for a reason, but his abilities could prove useful." The Elder said.

"And you trust him?" Jungkook asks turning his attention to the Elder.

"He is my oldest friend, and he has his own reasons to want the council gone." The Elder replied.

"I can ask Jimin and Yoongi for help." Taehyung added. "Yoongi is the biggest advocate for equal treatment. He will want to help us. Especially now that he is alpha of his pack, and this could affect them too."

Jungkook nodded his head in agreement. The more people they had on their side would give them a better chance at success.

"I can travel to see my friend tomorrow." The Elder said confidently. "Mr. Kim I think you should join me to see him."

"Why?" Taehyung asks.

"As much as you think the doctor can be trusted, I think it is too dangerous trusting him. But this Elder, he may be able to help restore your power." The Elder said with hope in his voice.

Taehyung turned to Jungkook again and felt sadness. "I can't go. I can't leave Jungkook, not now."

"No Tae, you have to go. This Elder could possibly bring back your power, and he is far away from anyone who works or is connected to the council. So that lessens the chances that the council will know your powers have returned or not. I know I am changing, and it is harder for me to control my emotions and wolf instincts, but this more important than any of that. We need you to have your powers, and I wont stand in the way of you getting them." Jungkook said squeezing Taehyung's hand tighter. "Tae go."

The room fell silent and the three of them turned to each other and nodded.

"I will inform the council that you and I will be visiting a Elder's temple, and that should give us a few days to travel without any suspicion. The council will thin it is part of your lessons." The Elder said. "I will call and make the arrangements."

The Elder stood and walked to his desk looking through a book.

"I will go home and pack." Taehyung said standing.

Jungkook stood as well not letting go of Taehyung's hand. They said their goodbyes and left the Elder who was already dialing the number to the car service. Jungkook and Taehyung left and traveled home so Taehyung could be ready to leave by 8 am the next day.

The drive home was silent, and Taehyung did not want to force Jungkook to talk. He knew that it had been a lot for him to have to hear, and it would take time to accept. He just held his hand as tight as he could to let Jungkook know he was there. Jungkook felt so tired. All the anger he felt and held inside had made him feel like he had been running for hours. He wanted to scream and release all his anger, but he was afraid what would happen if he let that much anger out.

He had noticed his strength had been growing the last few weeks. There had been a lot of change happening with him that he had been ignoring. All he wanted was to support Taehyung, and that meant keeping his mind focused on more important things. His own changes were not important now, and the changes had been slow. Just the occasional broken item when he didn't regulate his strength. Nothing too serious, right? He had to remind himself over and over to be gentle with Taehyung now, not wanting to hurt his mate, but today had been so overwhelming that he was scared he wouldn't be able to control himself.

He had to keep remembering to not hold Taehyung's hand too tight, so as not injure him. He hadn't told Taehyung what had been going on with him yet, and he didn't think now would be a good time either. But the promise they had made kept running through his head. They had promised to be open and honest at all times, and he was keeping things from Taehyung and it felt wrong. Now with Taehyung going away it didn't seem like the right time to add stress to an already intense situation.

"Jungkookie? What's going on?" Taehyung asked tilting his head trying to get Jungkook's attention.

Jungkook's breathe hitched. He had to tell him, he cant keep things from him.

"I have something I need to tell you. I wanted to wait to tell you because you were just starting your training and everything, but I want to keep our promise to each other." Jungkook said not wanting to look up.

"What is it?" Taehyung asks calmly.

"It's the changes that have been happening to me. I don't know what is going on really, but it has been more than just the emotional changes. I have been getting stronger, and some of my other senses have been heightened as well." Jungkook said feeling guilty.

"Really?" Taehyung asks.

"Yeah." Jungkook said with a sigh. "I wanted to tell you sooner, but I didn't want you to worry since the changes had been small at first. I wanted you to focus on your training." Jungkook admitted.

"Jungkookie, you know no matter what, you are the most important thing to me. Not my job or my training, you! We need to stick together more than ever now, because to be honest I'm worried." Taehyung says sadly. "After hearing what the council did to your grandparents, all I can think of is what could happen to us. I don't know why the council let us be bonded but I have a feeling we are in danger because of it. I keep thinking, if we are just a part of their plan…what happens to us once they get what they want? That thought has been terrifying me. I don't want them to hurt you or take you away from me." Taehyung said feeling tears forming in the corner of his eyes.

"Tae, I would never leave you. I would fight with everything I have to stay with you, and nothing the council can do will keep me from fighting so we can be together. We may only be pawns in their plan, but we are stronger than they know. Our bonding made us stronger somehow, more than we have even had a chance to understand yet. We are stronger than anything they can do to us." Jungkook said wrapping his arm around Taehyung pulling him closer.

When they arrived home, Taehyung began packing right away. He wanted to finish as quick as possible so that he and Jungkook could spend the rest of the evening together before he had to leave. Jungkook had struggled so bad the day before when Taehyung had left for just a few hours, and now he would be gone for days. He knew Jungkook would suffer during those days fighting his need to be around Taehyung. Not long after returning home did, he notices the pouting had already started. He knew Jungkook couldn't help it, but it made leaving so much harder. Jungkook decided to wait in the game room for Taehyung to finish packing. Watching him would make it too hard not to try and convince him to stay.

Everything inside Jungkook was wanting to beg Taehyung not to go, but Jungkook tried his hardest to ignore those feelings. Taehyung needed t do this, it is important. This was no the time for a his more embarrassing clingy qualities to be showing, but of course he has no control over it and cant hide how sad he was. So he stayed downstairs, and tried not to let Taehyung see him sad. Once Taehyung had finished he came looking for Jungkook, and found him slumped on the couch watching episode 33 of The Untamed.

"Jungkookie, why do you always watch this part?" Taehyung asks laughing a little, and sitting next to Jungkook.

"Because it's the big fight scene, and it's cool." Jungkook said with a huff.

"Not because it's like the saddest part of the show, and Lan Zhan and Wei Ying are separated?" Taehyung asks.

"I have no idea what you mean." Jungkook says with a scrunch of his nose.

"I wont be gone too long, I promise!" Taheyung said wrapping his arms around Jungkook's neck.

"I know I know." Jungkook replied still watching the show.

Taehyung just laughed a little and looked toward the TV. The part where Lan Zhan was holding Wei Ying as he hangs off the side of a cliff come son, and makes Taehyung think for a moment.

"Jungkookie?" Taheyung asks. "How much stronger are you now?"

Jungkook looks at him a little confused. "Quite a bit more, why?"

"Would you be able to save me if I was hanging off a cliff?" Taehyung asks teasing.

"Definitely! Lan Zhan was weak compared to me!" Jungkook says proudly.

Taehyung laughed. "That's pretty strong!" He said with a smirk.

Jungkook smiled. "I'll show you!"

Then Jungkook stood pulling Taehyung from the couch and picking him up, carrying him out of the room and up the stairs.
