Hide and Seek

**Friday night**

-Your POV-

You were worried because you'd asked Jisung if he wanted to come with you and all he'd done was evade your question the entire week. Maybe it was because of Hyunjin. You guessed you really couldn't blame him for disliking the other boy, though. It was probably best that Jisung and Hyunjin didn't see one another or there would be a fight.

You shrugged as you put on your outfit, not quite sure if you were ready for your first party. You would have felt more comfortable about going if you had more friends that were there, but of course, you barely knew anyone except for Jisung and his friends. And Hyunjin.

Hyunjin had given you his address, earlier, so all you had to do was take the bus to get to the correct street. Hwang Hyunjin. How on earth did you manage to ever run into him, again? It was strange, almost like fate. Sure, he went to your old school, but how did he manage to get to your new school out of all places? It made you suspicious. Or perhaps, it was just your nerves.

As you drew closer, you could hear the music. The racket drifted down the street, making your palms sweat. You hated parties and had never really been to one. Now, without anyone with you, you felt like an outsider.

No one looked your way as you opened the front door and quietly slipped into the crowd which made you somewhat thankful. The music was deafening, people drinking and dancing and the smell of alcohol wafted through the air making you cringe in distaste. Ugh, you hated underage drinking. You drifted through, looking for Hyunjin and found him behind the minibar, serving drinks. One of the stools were open so you sat down and waited for him to notice you sitting there.

He turned around, having finished serving one of his guests and did a double-take when he glanced your way. You watched, quite enchanted by his cinnamon roll smile.

"Whoa, you look great!" he said when he was across from you.

"Thanks," you blushed and hoped he couldn't see in the semidarkness.

"Can I get you something to drink?" He glanced at your horrified face and chuckled," Don't worry, Y/N, I can get you something else like a cherry coke or something."

"Cherry Coke."

"Okay."You watched as Hyunjin disappeared behind the bar for a few seconds, only his raven locks visible above the countertop before he reappeared handing you an ice-cold can, his puppy-dog eyes trained on your face. You popped the tab and took a sip of the fizzy liquid, letting it wake you up a little. Good. You probably needed it, anyway.

You hung around the bar for a few hours, taking in the sights and sounds. Hyunjin disappeared a few times to greet his friends and chat, but he mainly stayed with you because he knew that you were uncomfortable about being around complete strangers. The next time he disappeared, he quickly reappeared with someone else, a boy with blonde hair and a quirky smile.

" hI, I'm fEliX," the boy said in a funny accent that made you smile. You watched as Hyunjin ruffled the boy's hair, affectionately.

"Where are you from? Not here, originally, I suppose," you said.

Felix laughed, graciously, "I'm from Australia, mate! Nice to meet you. Hyunjin talks about you to the point that I want to send him to the outback so I can't hear him."

"Yah, that's not nice!"

"Well, that's what you get for stealing sausages from me and Chris!"

You laughed. Hyunjin looked like he wanted to run away.

The party began dwindling down around 11:40, guests slowly trickling out, most of them to incoherent to even know where they were going. You watched, amused as they stumbled about trying to find the door. Several were slumped over in the couches or lying on the floor. You could hear some noises that were coming from upstairs-mind you but you really didn't feel like thinking about what was going on up there- and didn't feel like going to investigate until Hyunjin went upstairs and came back down with his bedraggled guests, one of them with his pants still down. You fake-gagged. He laughed.

You decided to stay behind to help Hyunjin and his friend clean up a bit, picking up the empty beer cans and sweeping the floor for crumbs and broken glass, which seemed to be abundant.

"Hey, do you want me to take you home? It's already midnight," Hyunjin asked. You distracted yourself, watching as the little Rhoomba that he owned skittered past your feet in its quest for the leftovers that you had probably missed.

"Hmm?"

"Do you want me to walk you home?"

"No thanks, I should be fine," you said, quickly. Hyunjin raised his eyebrows, skeptically.

"Are you sure? It's pretty late and I don't want anything bad to happen to you. My neighborhood is kinda dark at night, too."

"No, I think I should be okay. Thanks for inviting me to the party. It was nice of you," you replied. He smiled his familiar cinnamon roll smile that kind of made you just melt.

"No problem, Y/N. Take care and get home safely, okay?"

"Okay." You waved to him and then navigated your way past several straggling partygoers to get to the front door. As you walked down the steps and onto the dark street, you suddenly felt strange. Maybe it was just nerves. With a shudder, you quickly made your way to the corner of the block, checking behind your shoulder twice because you thought you saw something move. You pulled out your phone to text your mother that you were coming home when you heard a bush rustle nearby. You squinted into the darkness, but there was nothing to be seen. Just ordinary bushes. Strange.

Your shoes hit the pavement, your footsteps speeding up, wanting to get you out of this dark street and onto the main road where there was more light, but your feet didn't seem to move fast enough. You thought you heard another pair of footsteps behind you, which made your blood run cold. Again you turned around. Nothing.

You pulled out your phone and began texting your mom.

You: Hey mom, I'm coming home, now.

Mom: okay when will you be home?

You looked up to see if you could find the street name and quickly located a sign, then looked back at your texts.

You: I'll be home ar-

A loud noise nearby made you drop your phone. As you bent down to retrieve it, you froze up like a bunny caught in the headlights. Someone was following you, you could sense it.

You turned around one last time to check before realizing, too late, that the danger was now right in front of you. Something grabbed you and you looked up as a hand covered your mouth to keep you from screaming. Your knee went up, digging into flesh and the hand covering your mouth slackened as the attacker groaned. You seized the opportunity to run but only made it a step before your hair was yanked, hard, causing you to yelp. You fell down, scraping your knees and hands before popping back up, quickly. But the attacker was quicker. You tried to scream but found your mouth and nose covered by a cloth and a sickly sweet smell immediately permeated your senses. Darkness set in, taking your consciousness with it. The last thing you remembered seeing was the cracked bright screen of your phone lying only steps away, your message to your mother unfinished.

-Jisung's POV-

Jisung glanced around in the darkness, his eyes following his target as it walked along the boardwalk with its girl, laughing and smiling. Holding hands. Well, too bad the target wouldn't be laughing and smiling for long.

He felt his phone buzz in his pocket and hesitated, pulling it out. Y/N had been asking him all week if he was going to Hyunjin's party, but Jisung simply attempted to ignore her question. Now, he wondered if she was questioning his availability. The thought of him not being there at Hyunjin's party still made Jisung uncomfortable, but he had promised himself not to get involved in Y/N's love life. If she liked Hyunjin, then he would accept it. Maybe.

When he opened his phone, he found the message was from an unknown sender.

*Another client, perhaps?

He opened the message, still eyeing his target who was currently buying one of those potato tornado dogs from a nearby street vendor. When he glanced back down, he found himself face to face with a picture. An image that made his blood run cold with rage. Who took a picture of her? Why is she tied up?

*Y/N?

A string of messages came through only moments later.

Unknown Sender: Why don't we play a little game?

Unknown Sender: It's called hide and go seek

Unknown Sender: it's a simple game I play, so here are the rules. I give you three hours to find her. If you don't find her, then I come out and play. You'll be dead within the fourth hour and so will she.

All Jisung could see was red.
