CHAPTER 26

This Thursday couldn't go any slower could it. I have been sitting in History class for the past 24 hours. JK it's only been an hour but it feels like a freaking day. I just want to go shopping! Is that so much for a girl to ask? I blow my hair out of my face in frustration. Just when I'm about to scream my head off from frustration, the bell rings.

Now I understand when it is said to be saved by the bell.

I move gloomily to the next class. When I get there though, I see Maddy in my seat. The seat next to Josh's.

I'm not going to give her the benefit of seeing me react to this. Besides, after tomorrow I'll be out of here.

I move to the empty seat in front of Maddy—her original seat. When I sit, I get a text from Josh.

Male Lover Beau😂😏: Hey! Maddy just sat even though she knows it's your seat. I tried moving her, but you know how she is. So sorry babe😪.

Me: You don't have to explain anything😊 Now concentrate lover boy😉

Male Lover Beau😂😏: 😂❤️

I turn back to look at Josh, and grin at him. He winks back at me before gesturing for me to concentrate. I glance at Maddy and wink at her. During the lesson, I'm lost in my own thoughts.

Since I'll be leaving Josh, I have to break up with him! This isn't how I wanted it to be but I have no choice. Dang it!

//////////

"So will you guys ditch us on Friday evening?" Janice asks the twins during lunch time.

"No. We can stay." Dan answers

"So why can't Anaise?" Ivy says.

"Because it's my mission and I have also been exposed. I have to go back to straighten things out as well."

"Well that's sucks!" Janice exclaims while waving her hands in the air.

"Yeah it does." Everyone says. There is silence while everyone eats and thinks.

"I'm breaking up with Josh tomorrow!" I blurt out of nowhere.

Smooth sailing kiddo!

"Whaaaaattttt?! Ivy and Janice yell that everyone in the cafeteria turns to look towards us.

"Shhhh! Sit down Janice." I whisper-yell.

"Why would you do that?" Ivy asks.

"Because I'll be gone tomorrow. I can't tell him why so I have to disappear without him knowing. At least he will be prepared and find another date. He will have to understand." I whisper the last part to myself.

"Owww! Come here!" Ivy moves to hug me and Janice joins in too.

Have I mentioned how much I love these people? Yes, Yes I have but Imma say it again.

"I love you guys so much. I will miss you."

"We love you too." They all say. I sigh when the bell rings, indicating that the break is over.

Few more hours for me to shop for my prom dress which I will never get you wear. Then cry on it on my way back to Los Angeles.

•_•_•_•_•_•_•_•

"I don't like this dress! Too short."

"This sounds awfully familiar!" Janice says twitching her eyes at me.

"I am not wearing that! End of story."

"Would you guys like some help?" A young attendant comes up to us.

"Yes please. We'd like to check out some dresses lit for prom. My girl here is just so picky." Ivy rolls her eyes at Janice's dramatic self and the attendant looks over at me with a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"I have the perfect dress for you! It just came in, follow me." She grabs my arm and drags me to the other end of the shop.

   "Here it is!"

   "Try it in Anaise!"

   "Yeah try it on!"

   "But—but—"

"No buts. Get into that changing room and don't come out without this dress on your delicate body!" Ivy commands me with such a scary voice that I feel like running to a corner and rocking myself back and forth.

Yup, that's how scary she is when she is angry.

   "Ma'am, Yes, Ma'am!!" I salute.

"You are dismissed soldier! I head over to the changing room and try on the dress. The person looking back at me isn't me. She is just—WOW!

"I'm giving you three seconds to get the hell outta that's room! 1-2- O-M-G! Anaise you look A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Ivy get out here!" She squeals so much when I step out of the changing room that I'm sure I'm half deaf. Ivy rushes in and her eyes enlarges, literally.

"We are so getting this! No excuse. Daisy, pack this up!" Ivy says to the young attendant.

"That would be—" Daisy told us the price and packed the dress when I stepped out of it.

The dress rocks! Too bad I won't be able to rock it. Sigh
