Boys Love

It was a mid-summer day,

Twirling and yawning I was awake.

The sun was lit the brightest ,

Lazy and gawking still wanted to rest.

Click-click I heard,

Of course not the sound of a bird.

The shutter snaps from the neighbors,

My bestie, who lived adjacent to us.

A black box on his face,

Hiding behind before I could gaze.

His pale fingers holdings the lens,

Focusing the dial over the fence.

He sure resembled someone,

Holding his camera like a gun.

My best friend's twin brother,

Who resided in my heart forever.

Knock-knock on the door,

Stupidly smiling I ran off the floor.

There she walked in pushing me aside,

Hoping for him I peeped outside.

On the sofa she relaxed,

Leaving me broken and sad.

She spoke of all the worlds gossip,

Not a single word about the man I miss.

Finally I had the courage to ask,

All about him except his past.

Back in town for the break,

Made a plan; trip to the lake.

The breezy evening arrived,

Time to spend with the one I admired.

On our cycles we flew,

Along with the humid wind as it blew.

Singing and dancing at the bank,

He remained silent as his heart sank.

In his own world with a camera,

Thoughts and his clicks a unique aura.

Love with no ripples as calm as a sea,

Feelings conveyed through our eyes with glee.

The hearts of two men,

Beating to rhythm on cloud nine and ten.

Days and nights locked in love,

Confessing each other was always a how.

Even the final day had come,

Returning back to where he had been from.

No words but misty looks exchanged,

A handshake and a hug well explained.

He left me with a heavy heart,

For an year we had to stay apart.

Days after a parcel arrived home,

For me who was completely torn.

A printed book of his clicks and thoughts,

Pages of pictures of me; the heart frost.

An untold secret love it was,

With the summer memories at pause.

The triumph of togetherness,

In frozen hearts of love with god's bless.
