February 7, 2021: Solace

'Did I just hear-- No, no, you're hallucinating, Syn. Get a grip on yourself.'

Syn shut her eyes, so tightly as if she didn't want to open them again. A turmoil, that she had no hopes of stopping, came into being inside of her mind that was a mess in itself by now. The clash was between the pool of her emotions, with distrust in the lead, and the voice in her head, frantically telling her that she was not mistaken.

Being the pessimist that she was, Syn followed her raging emotions. If she had the composure to be rational, she wouldn't have been suffering from her current circumstances in the first place.

'Why am I like this? Why does he have that effect on me?' As Syn fell deeper into her thoughts, her breathing was slowly becoming ragged. 'Why am I even asking these questions? I know the answer already. It's not him. It's not him, Syn.'
