In The Eyes of the Beholder

As soon as the door opened, Kaia braced herself just to see a woman lying on a bed. It is more like she is handcuffed to the bed to stop her from running away. Inside are monitors and she is hooked up to machines though she looks like she is ready to die already.

"You!" She shouted, trying to jump at them. Ran quickly pulled Kaia behind him though she couldn't even summon up the strength to sit up.

"DO you remember her?" He whispered to Kaia who stood behind him, staring at the woman from behind his shoulders.

She looked at the woman and shook her head. There is something familiar about her but she can't really tell why that is.

Ran laughed, turning to the woman, "Look at you, even Kaia can't remember who you are. Isn't that just ... sad."

"Who are you?" She asked, staring at Ran who had a very malicious look on his face. "You are not my son."
