Chapter 2: Welcome Home

After Clementine got off the bus she looked around at the place she once called home. She was glad to be back, she loved the place, but she wasn't here in the circumstances she had hoped for. She hoped that when she came back home it would be for a show or just to come say hi and tell everyone how successful she had gotten since she moved away. But that simply wasn't the case. She was another failed actress who was forced to move back home to try and make some money

She picked her bags up and looked around once more, trying to figure out where she could go. Of course her mother had always told her that she could stay with her and she's sure her brother wouldn't be opposed to spending a few days with his sister but she refused to let them know that her plan of becoming a famous actress had failed. There was her childhood best friend, Alistar, though. But she didn't know where to find him. God knows if he was even still in New York. Knowing him though he was probably still living at home

She took a last look around before deciding that she wanted something to drink. Luckily there was a bar nearby so she made her way there. Once she got there she set her stuff down next to her and flagged down the bartender

"A shot of tequila please"

"Make that 2" a gruff voice said next to her

She looked over at the man who was now sitting next to her. He was fairly attractive, she did love red hair and blue eyes, but he wasn't her type

"Hey sweetie. What's a cutie like you doin all alone in a big old city like this?" the man asked as soon as the bartender brought them their drinks

Clemmie was tired and definitely didn't want to deal with this jackass. She hit him with "I'm moving in with my boyfriend"

The man looked shocked but he had heard the boyfriend excuse before and he wasn't going to fall for that again "Oh really? And where is your boyfriend? No REAL man would let a pretty little thing like you be out in the city alone"

Clementine was done with this asshole. She quickly drank her shot and got up to leave

The man did the same, determined to get her to agree to come home with him

"Hey! Where are you goin princess?"

"Nowhere with you" She said rolling her eyes

"Now now, don't be like that baby girl~"

That last one struck a nerve in her. She was done with this creep. She turned around and punched him square in the nose "And stop with those damn names. I'm not your 'baby girl' asshole"

The man held his, now bleeding, nose "You fucking crazy bitch! I was trying to be a nice guy but I'm done! You are SO going to pay"

A woman immediately goes up to Clemmie with a happy look on her face "There you are girlie! Me and Betty were looking everywhere for you!"

Wanting to get out of this situation she plays along "Really? I could have sworn I told Betty I was heading out to get a drink"

The woman gave a relieved look, happy that she's playing along "Are you sure about that? You know you can be quite forgetful sometimes"

"You're right. I thought I did but maybe I didn't"

"Anyways, who's your friend?" the woman asks

"Oh! This is just-" she gets cut off by the man

"I'm her boyfriend" the man said deadpanned

The woman starred the man down "Really? Because I know her boyfriend. We we're all going to head to his house after the party"

The man started to get a nervous sweat but didn't let it waver him "What? You're cheating on me? How could you! We were so in love"

"Mhm. You see I know for a fact that my sister doesn't cheat so I don't care who you are, but you are not her boyfriend" The woman says matter of factly

The man rolls his eyes, giving up "Whatever"

As he walks off (most likely to get some medical attention for his nose) the woman turned back to Clemmie

"The names Dorothy" She holds her hand out

Clementine takes it "Clementine"

"So Clementine. Where are you headed?"

"I honestly don't know. I just moved back like an hour ago"

"Do you have a job?"

"Nope. I was hoping to become an actress but that didn't work out very well"

Dorothy takes a closer look, muttering to herself things such as 'very nice' and 'she would do great'

Clementine gives her a very confused look, understandably "Um, excuse me?"

"Hm? Oh! Sorry" Dorothy gets pulled out of her thoughts "I have a solution to both of your problems dear. You see me and my 'co-workers' all share a house and we happen to have a newly opened up room. You could join us"

"And what's your job?" she has a suspicious edge to her voice

"Well….That's the thing. We all may or may not be prostitutes.. It's totally fine if you don't want to join"

She gives it a bit of thought. It wouldn't be the worst thing she's done for money… And if she joined then that was her housing figured out\

"Sure. I'll join"

"Really?? Are you sure?" Dorothy asks, extremely surprised

"Well i don't have anything to lose and money is money so why not?"

"Okay cool! I'll show you where the house is"

Once the two got into the house they were immediately greeted by a very energetic blonde "Hey Dorothy! Who's the new girl?"

"Betty, Clementine. Clementine, Betty"

"Well hi Clementine! It's very nice to meet you!"

"Thanks. It's great to meet you too Betty"

"Hey Clementine. Follow me. I'll show you to your room" Dorthy motions clemmie to follow her

Dorthy leads her upstairs and to the third room to the left. She sets her things down, deciding to unpack in the morning after breakfast.

She looks around her room, which is fairly bland. It only has a vanity, a clock, some curtains and a maroon rug. She looks at the clock noticing its 3:28

"Well fuck.." she gets into her pajamas and into bed, hoping to get at least 8 hours of sleep, even though it will probably be more like 5
