Queen Thalassa

When I opened my eyes, I am in our dorm room lying on my own bed covered with the softest yet very comforting blanket. My three friends moved to my side the moment they know I am awake. The unbearable pain I feel inside and the bruises on my whole body after Suzanne's powerful charged has been gone now, and I feel so refresh and brand new.

"Hey! Malia how do you feel?" Asked Hale, whose face is so disturbed.

"I feel better, why am I here guys? I thought you brought me to the clinic?" I asked them, trying to get up from my bed.

"I am a healer Malia, besides, we don't want anyone to be near you. It is one of the reasons why I was chosen to be your protector in the first place." Nick said with conviction in his voice.

"Please forgive me for what happened out there during our practical magic class, I was not prepared at all. I was so frightened to spread my wings what if I can't conceal the authentic colors of my wings, I will be in big trouble if it happens." I said to them humbly.

"You don't need to say sorry Malia, we are perturbed about you, you have to defend yourself or else they will crush you physically and mentally." Freda blurted out.

"I know, I am sorry again the training we did was futile because of my cowardice." I uttered sadly.

"Look, Malia, it was not a big deal, I know Suzanne used more magic than usual, because Flynn is watching your every move, which I find it so mix up."

"I agree with Nick, it is so unusual for Flynn to pay attention to a common fairy, especially someone like you being a half fairy, you are the least of his concerns, you should not be a threat to him, why does it bother him a lot, unless he knows the real you." Declared Hale looking so unsure.

"Well, first he hates Mal because she doesn't look up to him as the crown prince of Erthesia, secondly her beauty is distinctive even among the beautiful fairies in the academy, that is one thing that he is so mad about, for sure he can't accept the fact that an ordinary half fairy can be so alluring." Freda said while grinning at me.

"Hey! That is not funny Freda, can't you see the way he looked at Princess Avery? I am nothing compared to her, he will never find me attractive in the first place, he hates me, that is why he wants me to go back to the human world." I said unhappily, but deep inside I am hoping that Freda's theory is true.

"You are more beautiful than Avery Malia." Nick and Hale said at once, it made me blushed.

"I swear I will avoid him at all cost to be able to continue my training here. I think I need to see Headmaster Amos."

     They did not allow me to go back to attend my remaining classes, Prince Hale went to see Professor Barbara to cancel my tutorial with her. They accompany me to see the Headmaster.

    "I heard what happened to you during your Practical Magic class Malia. I am glad that you were able to dominate your power, I was afraid that you might give Princess Suzanne a lesson for a lifetime, I am so delighted that you are fine after she attacked you with a very powerful magic." Headmaster Amos said, I can see the look of concern in his eyes.

    "Now, tell me Princess Malia, what can I do for you?" The Headmaster asked me.

    "Would it be possible if I can transfer my subjects to another class schedule, I mean, I don't want to be in the same class with Prince Flynn, it seems he despised me for being a half fairy, and questioned your credibility for allowing me to study at this academy." I asked Headmaster Amos and told him about Flynn.

"Yes! I can arrange for that Malia, except for your Practical Magic subject, I can't convince Mr. Knight regarding this matter it would be very risky. He may find it abnormal, He is a well-respected professor and good with his job, unfortunately he doesn't want to be involved in looking for the lost princess." Amos said. I was informed that you have the same class schedule with Flynn, indeed in all subjects."

    "I will tell my secretary to have your class schedule and your protectors be changed except for the Practical Magic. I hope it will be alright for you Malia?"

     "Of course, Sir, it would be more than enough, thank you so much, at least I have to see him during one class only." I said relieved that I will be able to avoid Flynn. One subject is enough at least I have enough time to harness my magic, and my heart will be safe. I don't want my feelings for him to grow and get hurt along the way.

    "Take care all of you, and please be more vigilant and don't leave Malia alone." Said Headmaster Amos to my friends, and they all nodded in agreement.

     Freda and I stayed in our door room for the rest of the afternoon. I was lying in my bed, and trying to get some sleep, but I can't no matter what I do. I am not in the mood to go to the banquet hall, for sure the incident happened to me during the class of Mr. Knight is the hot topic among the fairies right now.

    When Nick and Hale showed up I told them I am not hungry, and asked them to bring Freda along with them so that she can eat her dinner, however as expected she insisted on staying with me.

An hour later the boys returned with takeout food.

     "Hey! Thank you both of you, but you don't need to do that. I am not lying when I told you that I am not hungry, but now that I have seen the food you brought in I realized I am starving." I said beaming at them. They chuckled, and we eat together.

"Did you get all these foods from the banquet hall?" I asked them while chewing the tasty food.

"No! We went to Erthesia Capital and order these foods at the finest restaurant within the entire fairy land." Said Nick calmly.

"Really! You mean you also have a restaurant here?" I asked, amused by what I have learned.

"Yes! Malia, there are fairies who are gifted enough to have culinary abilities to open a lavish restaurant where the royal family can dine in, even though all the kingdoms in Erthesia have chefs. Sometimes fairies will go there on special occasions like to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries and even romantic dates." Hale said and I noticed his face is turning red.

     "Well, one of these days we will bring you to the capital to shop, dine, and to have fun." Freda said looking hopeful at the two princes.

     "Wow! That is good news! I thought I would not be able to enjoy my stay here, at least there is a place here like in the mortal world, I think my homesickness will be lessened if that is the case." I smiled at them.

    "I think we can do that once Malia knows how to protect herself, we need to be careful at all times." Nick uttered seriously.

     We go back to eating our dinner without talking. I told them that I will not be eating breakfast the following morning, instead I will go early to the library. Hale gives us our new schedule of classes after our sumptuous meal, and then they left after saying their goodbyes.

     I woke up early and take a bath, then I braid my hair. The two princes arrived at the same time.

    "Are you sure you are not going to eat breakfast Mal?"

    "Definitely! Please bring Freda with you, I will be safe in the library, nothing will happen to me in the academy right Nick?"

     "Of course, but please be careful, we will meet you there after half an hour okay?" Asked Hale.

     "Alright, see you later guys." I said to them then I closed the door slowly.

     I arrived at the gigantic library so early and I find it still empty, only the librarian is present, she is busy using her magic in arranging the books and dusting the shelves.

    "Good morning dear! What can I do for you?" She called on me the moment she noticed my presence. She looks so friendly and smiled at me warmly.

    "Good morning too! Where can I find the history of Erthesia?" I asked smiling at her.

    "Aisle number eight, everything in that division consist books of Erthesia History and its kingdoms." I thanked the librarian and proceed to the history section.

I find the shelves filled with ancient books, yet free from dust. The fairy librarian must have kept all the books in the library clean and organized. Well, what is the use of her magic. I am busy looking for anything related to my ancestors when someone behind me tapped my right shoulder.

    "Hey! Good morning beautiful, I wasn't expecting you to be here at this hour, may I know what are you trying to find?" I am familiar with Declan's voice, and when I turned my head I find his beautiful blue eyes looking at me intensely.

   "Prince Declan, it is good to see you here as well, I just want to borrow books related to the woman you were talking about, the one you told me who looks like me."

    "I see, well you can have this book." He said while giving me the thick book in his hand.

     I accepted the book and I never expected it to be so heavy that I almost drop it on the floor. "Thank you so much Prince Declan, you help me save my time, to be honest, I was totally lost what book I should get since there are plenty of them, I don't even know where to start." I said to him honestly and mesmerized by the image I found at the cover of the book below the title "Queen Thalassa: The Most Beautiful Queen of All Time."

I was dumbstruck because Declan wasn't lying at all, I can't deny the resemblance of our face, I look exactly like her. I almost cried with too much happiness, I never felt the urge before to see my biological parents, but seeing her picture before my eyes enveloped me with distinct kinds of emotion I never know existed, until now.

     I ought to see her, know her, and hug her. I can feel something deep within my core, my heart is longing to find her, this woman is my real mother.

"Are you okay Malia?" Asked Declan in a worried tone.

"I am fine, I am just unable to comprehend why do I look absolutely like her?" I hate myself for lying to Declan, it looks like I can trust him, still I can't divulge to him that Queen Thalassa is my mother.

"Yes! That is why I told you about her, fairies with our age, maybe doesn't know about whom you look like but for sure Headmaster Amos have seen the resemblance of your beauty to Queen Thalassa even my parents, all the Kings and Queens of all Erthesia will recognize you as doppelganger of the queen." He said excitedly.

"This is good news Malia, but bad news at the same time, the Dark King should not know about your existence, or your life will not be spared. I don't intend to frighten you, nonetheless you have to be careful." I can see the troubled look of Declan's face.

"Thank you so much Prince Declan, I find it a little odd that you are giving me kind attention, I am not worthy of your time, and worries. You are the crown prince of Katharos and first cousin of the Erthesia's future king." I said bashfully.

"Malia, what I have said the last time, though I did it to annoy Flynn, I wasn't untruthful. I find you fascinating and I want to know you more." He said looking at me soberly.
