Assaulting MOURNINGSIDE
INT. THE CUDA
JODY and MIKE drive in silence as JODY looks at MIKE who is staring out the window like he normally does.
JODY
I'm sorry, MIKE.
MIKE
For what?
JODY
I know you knew about me wanting to send you to AUNT TINA'S...
MIKE
JODY...
JODY
Look, If it's consolation...I wasn't going to do it...that doesn't mean I didn't think about it heavily...but...I wouldn't of, I promise you MIKE.
MIKE
JODY, it's alright...
MIKE looks out the window with a smirk.
MIKE
I knew you wouldn't.
JODY nods and looking at the road, he lets a little smile pass his lips.
INT. REGGIE'S CAR
REGGIE follows the CUDA as his lights and the CUDA TAIL LIGHTS are the only thing he is able to see, REGGIE paying attention so intently to the road that he doesn't notice THE DWARF slowly sitting up from the backseat.
INT. THE CUDA
MIKE looks at the rear view window and notices REGGIE struggling as the CAR begins to swerve behind him, MIKE tapping JODY as JODY quickly look and watches as from behind the CAR swerves and then turns and begins flipping down the road.
JODY
REGGIE!
MIKE looks on horrified as REGGIE'S CAR crashes a few more times before coming to a stop on it's side, JODY stopping the CUDA as he and MIKE hurry and run towards the CAR.
EXT. ROAD
MIKE
REGGIE!
JODY
REGGIE!
The TWO run up to the CAR as MIKE climbs it quickly and watches as REGGIE reaches up and climbs out, JODY stepping up as he helps pull REGGIE out as REGGIE had a large gash on his forehead, REGGIE clinging to the FOUR BARREL as MIKE reaches down and grabs the DUFFLE BAG with REGGIE'S SUPPLIES in it.
JODY
What happened?!
REGGIE
Damn little thing just came out the back snapping at my ass! It got a hold of the steering wheel and next thing I know, bam, I'm rolling down this damn street like a pig in a blanket.
JODY looks inside to see the DWARF laying on it's side, it's neck broke as yellow blood was oozing out of it's hood.
REGGIE winces as MIKE helps him down as REGGIE checks his head and sniffs.
REGGIE
You smell that?
JODY looks about and notices that the car was beginning to smoke, JODY noticing that some of the gas lines had been cut and that gas was leaking from as far as they were driving.
JODY
Oh shit...
MIKE
What?!
JODY
Get away from the car!
REGGIE
What?
JODY
RUN!!
MIKE helps REGGIE as JODY runs towards a ditch, MIKE helping REGGIE as the two fall over and slide down the ditch as JODY covers himself over them.
MIKE
What are you doing..?!
THE CAR EXPLODES, but the the EXPLOSION is even more intense as all the GRENADES in the back all explode at once, the pieces of the CAR going up everywhere as the CUDA rocks and even turns on its axis a bit as JODY shields the two from the intensity of the blast.
A few moments go by as the initial explosion subsides, the FIRE still burning intensely as the THREE were sweating just from the sheer heat of the fire.
JODY gets off of them and the THREE sit up and stand, watching as the CAR burned, JODY putting his hands behind his head as he curses, MIKE watching on as REGGIE just gulps and feels himself to be sure he was still alive.
JODY
They knew...fuckers...fuckers cut your gas line and had a trail following the whole time...the dwarf was meant to wreck the car...so that the grenades would all explode...they fucking baited us.
MIKE
What do we now?
JODY
We go kill that fucking TALL MAN.
REGGIE
I like that.
MIKE
Well...looks like he's expecting us.
MIKE points and JODY and REGGIE turn as they notice MOURNINGSIDE'S MORTUARY was seemingly glowing in the dark...beckoning them.
JODY
He want's a fight...he's gonna get one.
JODY hurries to the CUDA as MIKE helps REGGIE to the CUDA as the CAR burns brightly behind them as JODY guns the CUDA towards MOURNINGSIDE.
EXT. MOURNINGSIDE
JODY drives the CUDA into MOURNINGSIDE as the GATES were somehow fixed, but wide open, JODY slowly pulling in as MIKE notices the ominous feel to it all.
MIKE
This isn't right...I can't hear LIZBETH...I keep...calling for her, And I'm not getting anything.
REGGIE
She's alright, MIKE. You just gotta believe.
MIKE
Yeah...I guess.
JODY
We'll go in from foot from here.
JODY pulls the CUDA over near the back end of the CEMETARY, quickly turning the lights off as JODY gets out, grabbing his bag from the back seat as REGGIE and MIKE do the same, JODY and MIKE slowly and quietly shutting both doors as REGGIE raises his FOUR BARREL up as he put his own FLASHLIGHT ATTACHMENT to the FOUR BARREL, JODY turning his on from his SHOTGUN as MIKE lights the nozzle to his FLAMETHROWER.
JODY
Come on.
JODY begins walking through the CEMETARY as their were nothing but DUG OPEN GRAVES leading up to the MORTUARY, REGGIE scanning about as MIKE stayed in the middle.
REGGIE
This isn't right why haven't we seen anything?
JODY
REGGIE?!
REGGIE
What?!
JODY
Don't jinx us right now.
REGGIE
I wasn't trying too!
MIKE stops as he motions to his left, JODY and REGGIE watching as someone was lumbering through the GRAVEYARD towards them.
JODY
LURKER?
MIKE
Yeah.
JODY
Alright, Don't bother with it we can...
REGGIE
Uhh...JODY.
JODY
What?
REGGIE
Little problem.
JODY turns as he watches LURKER'S beginning to appear all over, most of them coming out of the GRAVES all around them as MIKE looks horrified.
MIKE
JODY...
JODY
Run to the MORTUARY...Now!
The THREE break for the HOUSE as LURKER'S begin surrounding them, JODY fires and knocks one out of the way as MIKE dodges a few that lunge at him, but as one reaches for him MIKE lowers his shoulder and barrel's it over, REGGIE stomping on it's face as he steps by it, his boot smashing the face inward as YELLOW BLOOD and PUS slop all over his boot.
JODY stands a fires a few times, allowing MIKE and REGGIE to run ahead of him as the LURKERS were beginning to box the THREE away from the MORTUARY.
REGGIE fires form the FOUR BARREL and blows THREE LURKER'S AWAY as as MIKE stops and moves behind JODY.
JODY
MIKE!
MIKE
How do you like this!
MIKE lets it rip on his FLAMETHROWER, JODY watching as MIKE sets half a dozen LURKER'S on fire as JODY grabs MIKE by the collar and forces him to keep moving, MIKE letting go of the trigger as he follows JODY up towards the STEPS as REGGIE was trying to get the DOORS open, JODY and MIKE slam their shoulders into the DOOR which bursts them open as the LURKER'S hurry up after them, REGGIE and JODY slamming the doors shut as MIKE throws his bag down and unzips it as MIKE rummages through it.
JODY]
Come on MIKE!
MIKE
I'm looking!
The DOOR pulls open and a LURKER scratches at JODY, JODY stepping back as JODY fires and blows the LURKER'S HEAD OFF, REGGIE firing form the FOUR BARREL as this blows an even bigger clump away from the door as MIKE brings up a CROWBAR.
MIKE
Close the doors!
JODY and REGGIE run and shoulder the doors closed again, MIKE running up beside JODY as he slides the crowbar between the handles.
The DOORS begin to burst open but the CROWBAR keeps it from coming open as The THREE slowly back away, REGGIE opening the cartridge as he drops the shells out of the FOUR BARREL and reloads as JODY does the same, MIKE catching his breath as JODY looks around the MORTUARY as it was darkly light, the MARBLE shining about as he assess what to do next.
MIKE
Will that hold the door?
JODY
I doubt they'll stay there, but we need to move.
MIKE
I think the DOOR is this way...
JODY
We're not going there yet...
MIKE
What? Why?
JODY
Mom and Dad...they're down here, and they're not that far...
MIKE
JODY...
JODY
I have to know...they've got to be in there.
MIKE
REGGIE?
REGGIE
Not like I'm going to go off by myself.
JODY shoulders his bag and and begins down the hallway as MIKE follows close by, REGGIE snapping the cartridge close as he hurries up and follows close beside MIKE.
INT. MOURNINGSIDE
JODY aims about as MIKE aims the FLAMETHROWER about as REGGIE covers the rear, JODY hurrying over towards a series of MARBLE SLABBED COFFINS as he finds the one for their parents.
JODY
Help me pry it open...
MIKE sets the flamethrower down and taking his PICK HATCHET he jars the plate off of their FATHER'S TOMB and steps back as dust kicks out of the cobwebbed tomb, JODY and MIKE pulling the coffin out as REGGIE looks around, watching them pull the coffin halfway out before JODY looks at MIKE who looks at him unsure of what to do.
JODY comes around to the front and bends down, REGGIE aiming around as MIKE came and stood by JODY.
JODY
Sorry Dad...
MIKE
We have to know, daddy.
JODY lifts the lid up of the coffin, MIKE and JODY watching as the COFFIN was EMPTY.
JODY lets go and watches the lid slam shut, MIKE trembling as JODY stands and pulls his brother to him, REGGIE looking on horror as JODY looks at him and shakes his head, REGGIE sneering as he shakes his head as JODY pulls away from MIKE and looks him in the eyes, MIKE wiping tears away as JODY holds his back.
JODY
We're going to get them back...and if we can't...we're not going to let this fucking bastard win!
MIKE
I know it's just...DADDY...MOM...
JODY
We're not going to let him get anyone else...I promise.
REGGIE
We better get moving, this place'll be crawling soon.
JODY
REG is right, we better find that room.
JODY walks off as MIKE and REGGIE follow close behind.
