Chapter 16: Sorrows

I woke up to my alarm going off, I don't remember what time I went to bed last night but it feels like I didn't get enough sleep. Groggily, I got up out of the bed and headed to the break room which usually has breakfast in there since Renée is usually here to pick me up for school. Once I walked in breakfast was there but there was something else

More like there was a someone else that wasn't Renée or the cast

She was a very loud someone else, her blonde hair hung over the chair as her head was laid up against the edge while she slouched in her sleep. She still looked cute but I was going for retribution, I worked on moving her book bag, duffel bag, her phone, and the camera that she used to record everything that happened.

"I wouldn't put it against you if you deleted all that footage," a voice whispered behind me which almost caused me to drop her phone and duffel bag.

I smirked as I saw Renée sipping a travel mug of coffee, "Tempted but I have two best friends and two schools waiting to see it," I said with a smile as she chuckled walking over to the sink.

"What happened yesterday," she asked as she grabbed a pitcher and started filling it with water

I smirked, "First of all you read my mind," I said as she chuckled, grabbing a doughnut from the box. "Second of all, she's probably going to show you after she's awake and everything which means I have a one-word explanation for what happened. Did she tell you that she was staying," I asked as she handed me the pitcher

She nodded while taking a sip of her coffee and putting the doughnut on a plate, "She intended to stay up all night but as you can see, she was unsuccessful," she began. "What's the word," she asked as I positioned myself over her making sure I didn't get myself wet

"Initiation," I exclaimed while emptying the pitcher of cold water over her

She bolted out of the chair with a scream of surprise and looked around a bit before she spun around and glared at me. "Rose," she growled as I grinned while holding the empty pitcher

At that point I figured my last thought before sleep took over was right, "Good morning, Samantha," I said while walking to the counter to grab my doughnut from Renée. "I thought that was a fitting wake up considering what happened yesterday," I added before taking a bite of my doughnut

Her eyes narrowed into a glare once more before the rested on my hair, "That's a good color for your hair," she said as Renée almost spat out her coffee and my eyes widened

I dashed back to my room and looked into the full-length mirror, looking back at me in shock was a sixteen-year-old girl with bright red hair. "Samantha," I yelled with a mouthful of doughnut

"It was Charleen's idea," she said at my doorway, "not anyone from here, that's part of Arch's initiation, not ours."

"Are you saying that the humiliation was part of ours," I asked in shock as she nodded with a smile while holding up the camera. "I should've known that you'd be recording a little more for the reaction for my hair."

"No," she began before a flash of light coming from the camera, "it's only a picture," she finished before running out of my room back into the break room.

"Are you all done now," I asked once I made it back with a sigh

"Yes," she said just as Renée sighed before sipping her coffee once more

"I am so not awake enough for this," she muttered before looking at us, "you two go get ready for the day. Sammy, you can you the shower in my dressing room if you want to get cleaned up," she said as the both of them smiled

"Thank you, Mrs. Goldsberry," she said while grabbing the duffel bag and phone and rushing out of the room

I glanced at her as we waited in silence, she broke down in laughter once we heard the dressing room door close. "What did you do," I asked her with a smile forming on my face

"You haven't experienced it yet," she began, "but the cast can do some pranks here as well," she finished with a wink as I started laughing. "Just be sure to look for a Samantha with blue hair come lunchtime," she added

"Just don't forget about it when either of you takes a shower," I said in between breaths

"Oh, no it's actually a prank place for me but I removed all other shampoos in there so she only had the one," she said as my eyes widened

"How blue," I asked her as I grabbed a cup of coffee, "and how did you tell that it was a prank?"

"I know the smell of hair dye when I open a bottle of it," she began, "it's probably electric blue. I'm guessing Pippa put it there since we try to prank each other with our colors before you two woke up though I made sure it'll last longer," she paused to take another drink as I chuckled once more trying to imagine Renée with electric blue hair. "Go get ready so you're not late," she said as I nodded and rushed back to my room to change. Once in there, I took my braids out and ran a comb through my now red hair; I slid on the dress that Sammy delivered from Maria and put flats on. After a little bit of makeup and brushing my teeth I grabbed my things and left the room. Once I made it down to the stage door, I saw Renée and Sammy standing there as Sammy's hair was still wet.

"About time you came down," Sammy began, "I was about to come and get you," she finished with a smirk as I slid my backpack on

I chuckled, "I'm pretty sure she would've beaten you to that," I said as both of them laughed. "Are you sure you want to go outside with wet hair," I asked and she nodded. "All right, don't complain to me if you're freezing," I added as Renée chuckled once more

After that we piled into Renée's car and left for the school, I could not wait for lunch to come.

Time Skip to Fourth Period

I walked into the room that Sammy had asked me to meet her in as I heard bouts of laughter in it. "Hey guys," I said to everyone as they all laughed except for one

Sammy spun around in anger, "How did this happen," she asked glaring at me once more

I chuckled as her blue hair layed on her shoulders, "I have no clue," I said, "you may have to take that up with Renée."

"Don't lie," she said with a glare, "stop laughing," she added to the entirety of the room who only laughed harder

During this, I was pulling my phone out with a completely straight face, as I got my phone ready Sammy was in an argument with Ted who was saying that her reaction was priceless. "Hey Sammy," I said as she looked at me, "you ready for your photo op?"

Before I had a chance to take the photo she ran out of the room, dropping my things off in the room I rushed after her. I soon found her looking at her hair in a full-length mirror in the bathroom. We were upstairs, not too far from the classroom, "Come on Sams," I began as she shot another momentary glare, "it's for Renée."

"But how did she do it," she asked as she looked underneath her layers

"I don't know," I answered as innocently as I could do while stifling some laughter

"Don't lie," she repeated with the same glare

"Say cheese Sams," I said with a grin as I took a picture of her rolling her eyes just as the echo of a gunshot rang throughout the hall reaching my ear

I cursed as Sammy's eyes widened, "What the hell was that," she asked as she paled enough to look like a ghost with electric blue hair.

"That, Samantha," I began with a grumble, "was a gunshot," I paused to sigh and hand her my phone. "It seems like the man upstairs doesn't want to give me any break from death," I said as her lips thinned into a line. "Take this and call the police and hide, I'm going to grab a desk."

"What are you going to do with a desk," she asked me as she took my phone

"I'm going to see if I can drop it on one of them if not both," I said as she smirked. "Now please hide, I don't want to lose anyone else in this lifetime," I said as she grinned and ran out. I sighed before I soon followed her into the classroom that she ran into to grab the desk. I then ran to the railing of the second floor and dangled the desk over it as I started to wait. After a few more gunshots I heard some muttering coming from downstairs pairing with the footsteps that were heading in the same direction. "Come on loser," I began taunting them, "there are more people up here."

A few more gunshots and some footsteps answered me before a voice answered making me almost drop the desk too early. "I think I hear our old sister trying to threaten us, what do you say, dear brother," the voice of Michael said asking George

Before I was able to say anything, I heard a gunshot in one of the classrooms behind me. "Sammy," I yelled starting to move to see if she was okay

"Don't move," George growled as I saw Michael's head appear, "she was also going to drop a desk on you."

"Let her drop it," Michael said as George nodded

"Okay," I growled as I dropped the desk that had a little swing but it missed him by a foot. "Dammit," I muttered but almost fell as a felt pain in my left knee

"You've always been such a smart ass," George began, "but this time you went too far," he finished as Michael came up the stairs

"You left our caring family," he said once he reached the top and I supported myself on the railing

"It was for a good reason," I growled glaring daggers at him

"We fed you," Michael yelled turning me around just in time for George to shoot me in my right knee

"Not enough," I growled stifling a scream of pain as I kept supporting myself on the railing

"We loved you," Michael continued as George put two more bullets in my legs. "You left us for people that won't even come close to the same love that we gave you," he finished as my legs finally gave and I crumbled onto the floor

"What love," I asked glaring at them, "you raped me, beat me, you barely even fed me much less gave me my privacy. I wasn't able to send any holiday or birthdays with you, that whole family would torture me. At least the people I'm with now show me the love that I haven't seen since my biological family and the first," I paused to swallow but that gave them enough time to shoot me in the right shoulder. "I don't have either of those families anymore but I have the friends that are new and old. Friends that stayed with me through all of this, from both crashes to even this," I paused once more as tears started rolling down my cheek and the pain took over as my arm fell off the railing. "Everyone in that family was monsters, including your mother," I finished with a growl as I struggled to stand once more

"It's our mother," Michael yelled in my face as he shot me in the left shoulder. "Every beating you got was deserved, you're an alcoholic, irresponsible child," he said as I looked back up at him with a glare

"Are you looking in a mirror or something," I said as he stepped back for a minute the fear evident in his face

The last thing I saw was them raising their guns and pulling the trigger, the last thing I felt was the added pain in my gut as I thought one last thing

I guess sorrow always replaces my happiness
