Chapter 31: Our kind of date
Third person point of view
"Where are you going?" Piper's father said while looking at his daugther who is well dressed. He raise his eyebrows when he saw her wearing a make up.
"It's saturday, where are you going?" He asked again and Piper sit down for a breakfast. Pip come out from the bathroom and the first thing he saw is Piper in dressed and wearing a make up.
"What's wrong with you?" Pip asked and he sit beside her, their father serve his fresh cooked bacons and eggs. He made them a hot chocolate drink.
"Why? I just wore a make up" she said like it's not a big deal. Pip raise his eyebrows and he put down the fork.
"Exactly! Gosh date is really something" Pip said and he get a rice to start eating. Piper ignore him and she look at her father who is smiling at her.
"Eat a lot, do you want me to drive you to your date?" He asked and Piper quickly shook her head.l.
"I'm going to be okay dad" she said that made him relief a little bit. He knows that his daugther is going to date someone.
"Okay take care later" he said.
On the other hand Jenrick is looking at his closet. He is looking for a good clothes that he would wear in a date. He sigh because it's was filled t shirts and hoodie.
The weather is too hot and he can't like long sleeves. He sigh and get the good looking t shirt he have. He swear next time he will brought a shirts or polo.
Jenrick: Where are you?
Piper receive a text from Jenrick. She is walking to the bus and she is conscious with her hair. It was simple curl at the end of her long brown hair.
She put a light make up to cover her dark circles. She is not sure if she put it right but overall it was nice to look.
Jenrick is waiting at the bus stop and he is wearing a white t shirt that has design of some cartoon sayings, pair with black jeans with a white converse.
It was simple but he look handsome with it. Piper got arrive and she wave at Jenrick who is waiting for her. Jenrick also wave back and his world start to slow down as Piper walk towards him.
The wind is coming too her directions that made her hair flew away and she is smiling from ear to ear. Her smile is his weakness.
Piper is not as pretty as Catherine but you can tell that she is pretty. Her lips are plump and her eyes are not that big but the color of her eyes would captivate you.
Her honey brown eyes makes Jenrick amaze. She is really pretty.
"You look great" Jenrick compliment Piper that made her smile from ear to ear. They both wait for the bus as Jenrick suggested to take a selfie.
"So what are your plans?" Piper asked and Jenrick smile when he heared that. First date should be simple, right?
"Typical date uhm carnival? Uhm dad knows about the date so he gave me two tickets" he said that made Piper nodded her head.
"Seems like he is happy that you got a date?" Piper asked and Jenrick nodded his head.
"He is really cool with it. We can date as much as we want but don't ever hurt girls" Jenrick said that made Piper smile'
His father and her father are quite the same but Piper's father is more like strict but cool while Jenrick's dad is more like cool and funny.
Piper quickly upload the picture with a caption of 'My date'. She smile while she is waiting for it to be upload. She laugh because Catherine quickly react to it and she comment.
'Date!? Woahhhhhh' Catherine commented
'DUDE? SNEAKY' Zaizen commented
'Sana ol I just learn this word' Rich commented
(Sana ol is a filipino slang which means I hope for something)
'TAKE CARE OF HER OR I WILL BEAT YOU' Pip commented that made Piper crack up.
"Did you saw Pip's comment?" Piper asked and they got in the bus. They sit in the back their usual spot and he smile at Piper while nodding his head.
"Yeah, don't worry I'm aware" Jenrick said and they arrive at the carnival for about a hour because of the traffic.
"Woah" Piper said when they got off, Jenrick smile and they both walk to the entrance to give their ticket.
"Couple?" the cashier asked that made them blush. The cashier saw it and she chuckled.
'Teenagers these days' she said in her mind and she gave them a coupon for any restaurant in the carnival to have a free one meal if you purchase one.
Jenrick thank her and Piper wish her a good day that made her smile. It was the first greeting she have this day.
'What a cute' she said in her mind and get back to her work.
Screams can hear around the place and colorful lights welcome them. It's just 10 in the morning and Jenrick is thinking about a picnic date in the grass where a ocean view you can see.
"Let's take a look around?" Jenrick asked and Piper nodded her head. Jenrick point at the claw machine.
"I will get you one" Jenrick said with a full confidence in his voice. Piper look at him and she challenged him.
Jenrick groan as he didn't get the stuff toy for over 10 chances. Jenrick pull another coin and Piper let him, she is laughing at him.
At the 11th chance, no luck.
"Let me do it" Piper asked and she confidently insert the coin and she move her hand like a pro. Jenrick widen his eyes when he saw Piper getting the Ice Bear from We Bare Bears.
"Lucky" she said while smiling at him. Jenrick smile instead of being annoyed. He just appriciate the beautiful view of Piper celebrating with one try.
"You're great. How did you do that?" Jenrick asked and Piper teach him some tricks in the claw machine.
"Me and Pip usually play this game so we are little bit pro" She said while giggle, Jenrick didn't focus on what Piper is saying.
He just looking at her. Her eyes, her lips are getting thinner as she succed for the second time. The moment she look back at Jenrick. Their world suddenly stop as they look at each other eyes.
Jenrick suddenly smile, the cute one that made Piper blush. Her eyes lock on his ashed grey colored eyes. And also the smile of his turning into a big one.
"You are great" Jenrick said and Piper also smile at him. Piper give him Panda from the We Bare Bear and Jenrick accept it.
"I suppose to give you this but thanks" he said and Jenrick lead her to the picnic area.
"We don't have any mat" Piper said and Jenrick just smile. He lead her to the renting of equipments like mat, plates and other equipment to be used.
"We can rent this and also we can buy some foods. We can enjoy the view" He said and Piper nodded her head. She is excited for the picnic.
Jenrick and Piper divide the expenses. They bought some foods like sandwich, bite sized fruit, chocolares and other food including drinks.
"This is fun, it's my first time that I exprience this" Piper said while opening the bottle of soda.
"Really? When I was kid we used to go to the park and have a picnic. That was the last time that I exprience with my mother" He said while smiling but his eyes are telling other wise.
"Don't mind me asking but what happen?"
"My mom died from a breast cancer. My dad got depressed but in the long time we accept it. We don't have a choice since it happen" Jenrick said and he flinched when Piper hug her.
"You know it's okay since you have your father and your brother beside you. Me and Pip grew up with a mom but years after she leave us. It's more painful" Piper said that shook Jenrick.
Her cheerful voice turn into a sad one and he can feel the pain in her voice. He can't imagine that her own mother leave them like that.
It was painful to hear it. Imagine growing up without a mother it's hurts more than who passed away. You have a understandable reason why she is not there but like that, It's painful.
They stayed for few hours talking about theirselves and the sun slowly to set. Piper smile when she remember a song related to sunset.
"Hey let me tell you about sunset" Piper said while looking at the beauty of the sunset.
"Okay"
"Sunset symbolizes a break from all the exhausting happening in our life. A chance of collect of our selves and our time of reconcil of our wrong doings" Piper explained still looking at the sunset.
"A promise of new beginning, new darkness to overcome but I believe that it is also a chance for us to rest. I've dream of it like a few times" Piper said while looking back at Jenrick.
Jenrick is just staring at her. He suddenly feels something wrong.
