Introduction: Shendar

At long last, she had reached her destination! With suitcase in hand, she calmly walked up to the manor.

The building was fairly large, but it wasn't anything fancy. It was the size of two small houses, that was two stories tall - including an attic - and made of brick. Large windows covered the lower floor while smaller windows decorated the second floor, and a line of shrubs wrapped around the perimeter.

When she reached the front porch, she rang the door bell. The sound of old church bells lightly resounded through the building. A moment later, the door was opened by a middle aged woman.

"Hello, miss Andrea," the girl said, slightly bowing.

"Hello, Shendar. Please, come in."

Shendar walked inside and followed the woman into the parlor. Sunlight was shining through the windows as the tops of flowers gently waved outside.

"So... are you excited about attending school here?" Andrea asked.

The girl nodded. "Yes, ma'am. And I want to thank you for arranging all this... My family is willing to repay you for all the trouble you went through."

"Nah," the woman said, waving her hand. "Anything for my niece. Just tell them it's a gift for school."

Shendar nodded, and sat down on the couch. She could feel the sun's rays on her smooth skin. It was a warm feeling, with a slight burning sensation. Before now, her body would only register large amounts of heat.

Shendar slowly rubbed her arm, touching the place of the foreign feeling.

"Still getting used to the spell?"

"Uh, yes," she replied. "I... I didn't know this would make me feel... a lot of things."

"Indeed. And it will make communication much easier, since you'll be talking to a lot of folks here."

Andrea touched the pendant on her neck. It was a green emerald set in a brass, V-shaped strip that stopped at the shoulders.

"As long as you wear this," she continued, "No one will suspect your true form."

The girl nodded, lightly fingering her own necklace. It was a navy blue choker with a sapphire in the middle. Plain and simple.

The spell, however, wasn't as simple. A mage back at her home forged the necklace, and during the process, a ~mist~ incantation was placed onto the sapphire. This was to disguise her true features, and make it easier to blend into the community in this country.

"So, tell me... how's your folks? It's been years since I last heard from them."

"They're doing well," Shendar replied. She explained to her aunt all that has happened over the years.

But deep inside, she was excited and very nervous. Never has a Drakaina ever entered a training school that other beings attended, and she was going to be the first.

Shendar was a slender girl with delicate features, thanks to the ~mist~. She had tanned skin, and amazingly bright blue eyes. Her long black hair had streaks electric blue, and the electric blue was tied into braids that went to the back of her head.

If the ~mist~ wasn't there, more of her Drakaina features would show. Such as a slight blue sheen on the skin of her arms and legs, indicating where her scales were. And her ears would be more pointed, like Elven ears, and dragon wings and a slender tail from behind.

Shendar wanted to be the first to complete her schooling here. To secretly pave a way for her kind, as well as grow stronger as an amateur Demon Warrior. And to her, a Drakaina was the same as a human, or a werewolf.
