Chapter 11: The Palace

It's a palace. Like a whole ASS PALACE!!!!!

The capital was surprisingly large and very well built. Basically, there were four circles that the people were divided into. The farthest circle was where the poorest citizens lived, though I noted that they didn't seem too miserable. In fact, none looked to be particularly poverty-stricken. When I mentioned this to Cael, he explained that, "Sation is a very rich country, and so the majority of the people are living comfortably, if not luxuriously."

I was actually pretty impressed by this and I was glad I came to this country in a time of peace and prosperity.

The second circle was where the more wealthy commoners lived, like merchants and craftsman etc. The third circle was where the nobility lived and finally the fourth was where the palace/royals were located.

Apparently, the higher your station was, the closer your house was to the palace. I didn't have any experience with this type of stuff, but I apprenticed the simplicity of it.

I also noticed that our carriage was taking us deeper and deeper into the city. My excitement grew, as the houses around us became progressively grander.

And that has led us here. The palace.

I'm not even kidding.

I'm gonna live in a palace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! o(≧∇≦o)

We pulled up the entrance and two lines of servants stretched from our carriage to the entrance. Someone opened the door and Cael stepped out, I quickly followed with Ying Chen, who had tacken his role of bodyguard pretty seriously so far.

" Greetings, Your Highness." the servants called as the all bowed low.

I immediately zeroed in on Cael, who didn't seem fazed one bit as he walked confidently forward. I looked to my side at Ying Chen. He still gave off this cold prince vibe, and I had kinda expected him to be the royal one. (of course, I knew one of my golden thighs was royal. At least one ML always is ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

Ying Chen gave me a little nudge and gestured me to follow Cael. And awkwardly I picked up my pace. I like attention...but all these eyes watching me, are kinda a lot. I can feel myself shrinking under their gaze and I'm suddenly very thankful for both my small, unassuming stature and for Ying Chen's and Cael's eyecatching and dominating presence.

" You can't keep her"

The Emporer's head advisor looked down at me.

" That's not fair!" Cael cried. No seriously, he looked like he was gonna burst into tears. Out of all the guys, Cael was the most sensitive. As I said, he's just a cinnamon roll (๑￫‿￩๑)

" We can't just let a random girl live in the palace!" The Emporer's Advisor roared back. This old guy really had the presence of a general or something. You could basically see the veins popping out of his forehead as he looked that the prince.

" Why not!?!" Cael whined. He really did look the spitting image of a spoiled prince -_-

" We can not let a stranger freeload off of the royal family!!" The Advisor replied.

Oh no.

" What if she didn't 'freeload'" Adan chimed in. He winked at me, before continuing.

" What if she worked as a servant?"

ADAN!! I don't want to be a servant again!!! You're supposed to be my golden thighs!!! Why are you giving up on me so soon (ＴДＴ)

" No, if she is subjected to any kind of physical stress she will be crippled and useless." Lou Fang interjected.

Honestly, I don't know how to feel about that comment. ಠ_ಠ

" How about she becomes the Princess's companion?" Ying Chen prompted.

My ears perked up. Princess Companion? I could definatly get on board with that (Ò ‸ Ó✧)

The others seemed to think about it for a second.

"She is around that same age as the princess..." the Advisor admitted.

"And Ying Cehn approves of her, soooo" Adan's face broke into a smile.

The Advisor studied me before announcing, "She will have to be properly examined and approved of by the Empress, but I see nothing wrong with the idea"

MC Halo= When stuff happens to the protagonist, just because they are the protagonist.

The royal doctors gave me a medical examination and pretty much said the same stuff Lou Fang did. They said that while my body was in a pitiful state. The damage was not undoable. Unfortunately, it seems that due to the abuse of my previous household and the near-death experience my body would still be weaker than the average body of a person my age.

After only a day, I was summoned to meet with the Empress. And...wow. Talk about a MILF.

Like Cael, she had golden hair and a perfectly symmetrical face. She was tall and imposing and was every bit an Empress.

She kinda looked like my Sophomore English teacher. Who I had, had a total crush on, back in the day (／≧ω＼)

" So you are the stray, my precious son has brought back home" It really didn't sound like a question, so I said nothing.

I could feel her eyes assessing me and I tried to hide how flustered I was.

Okay, give me a break! These people put the celebrities from my old world to shame!! They were beyond gorgeous!!! Of course, I was gonna be flustered, when this totally hot, dominating, English-teacher type paid such close attention to me!

" I heard you lost your memories. Is that true?"

"uh yes, your majesty." I bowed low. I don't know alot about proper etiquette, so I decided to just bow alot and say 'yes, your majesty' to everything. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

"Mhuf" The Empress sniffed and after another pause said,

"You have my approval." I internally punch the air! YES! Thank you, MC Halo!!!

I bow even lower and happily exclaim, "Thank you, Your Majesty!"

A guard came to my side to escort me out, I was halfway to the exit before I heard the Empresses add,

" And remember that If you make any trouble, I won't be so kind." It almost sounded like she was sneering as she said the words.

'But if I did make trouble, would you punish me?' (／≧ω＼)

" This servant wouldn't dare. " I replied, before finally being dismissed....
