Chapter 12: Ying Yue

Ying Yue was a badass.

She was orphaned as a child and was raised by the government to be an elite assassin. Out of the group of a dozen orphans that were taken from the orphanage, only two had survived their training. Ying Yue and her partner, Wang Wei.

From childhood, they were taught to be masters in various forms of martial arts and combat training. They were also expected to be efficient in battle strategies, mathematics, and to have mastered an assortment of odd and dangerous skills. On top of all that, Ying Yue was the country's finest hacker. She was an unbeatable force...or so she thought.

One night, her dearest friend betrayed her. Wang Wei literally stabbed her in the back...no LITERALLY. Like with an actual knife!

In her 25 years of life, Ying Yue had trusted nobody but her childhood friend...her lover, her beloved companion. And in return, he had killed her mercilessly.

In a way, Ying Yue didn't blame him. She knew better than anyone, how brutal their training was. They were taught to never love, it was her that had been foolish enough to let her emotions get int the way of her work.

Ying Yue had not enjoyed her life. At the orphanage, she was treated unfairly and was bullied by the other children. Then she had been molded into the perfect tool, only to be used and then discarded.

In her last moments, Ying Yue simply wished that she had been given the chance to be happy.

------------

A half a year had passed since Ying Yue had woken up in another world. It hadn't tacken her long to adjust to this new development, she was an elite assassin from the 21st century after all.

Apparently, she had transmigrated into the body of the Alzec Empire's First Princess. The empire of Sation and Alzec had been in the middle of a pretty bloody war when the Sation's proposed a marriage alliance between the two nations. Alzec had begrudgingly agreed, however their only daughter was barley twelve at the time. So the Empires came to the agreement that the Princess would live in Sation's palace until she was old enough to marry the crown prince and only then would the alliance be official.

Naturally, the fighting had died down, however that did not mean it had stopped completely. One wrong move and the two countries would go to war once again. This meant that the Princess had become a very important political figure.

The Bartion Empire was boarding both the Sation and Alzec Empire. If the two went to war, they would inevitably exhaust all their resources and then the Bartion Empire could swoop in and take control of both nations.

Too the Bartion's and other's who would profit off of such a war, the Princess was at the very top of their hit list.

While traveling to Sation, her company was attacked and the Princess was killed during the fight. However, nobody knew this, because Ying Yue had tacken over her body!!

The Princess had originally been very spoiled and arrogant. Her family doted on her and up until a few months ago, she had been free to do whatever her heart desired. She had been beyond angry when she found out she was being sent away to a strange empire and had thrown several tantrums. However, her parents wouldn't give in and with no small amount of guilt had sent her away.

Overall, the Princess was most upset at leaving her pony, ButterCup behind. (╥﹏╥)

Despite gaining all of the previous owners memories, Ying Yue felt no such attachment. She was a cold-blooded killer and thus had no time for such things.

Ying Yue had immediately started training her new body. In a world of cultivation, which was so different from her own, Ying Yue refused to be so weak.

Even after coming to Sation's palace, she opted to lock herself in her room to train. To an outsider, it looked like she was simply a scared young girl, forced to separate from her family and live in an unfamiliar place. Everyone felt that her situation was very pitiful, so they left her alone for the most part.

Little did they know that after only six months of meditation, Ying Yue was on the verge of forming her spirit core.

For some context, the average age for forming one's spirit core was 15 and yet Ying Yue was only 12! If the so-called geniuses of this world only knew, they would have spit blood!!

------------------

Today was an abnormal day, Ying Yue had been summoned by the Empress. When she walked into the Empress's chambers, she was surprised to see the Crown Prince and her brother waiting for her. She bowed respectfully and greeted the two royals, "Your Majesties"

" Princess Yue, thank you for coming to see me today." The Empress said with a sneer. She obviously didn't like Ying Yue and greeted her with obvious scorn in her voice. Ying Yue pretended not to notice.

" Despite arriving months ago, you still seem unhappy here. I understand that it must be difficult to be so far from your home and have decided to grant you a companion, as it seems you have trouble finding ones on your own."

Ying Yue didn't miss that last remark, which was obviously a jab at how anti-social she was. She chooses to instead, focus on the much more important part of the Empress's monologue.

A companion?

This 'companion' was most likely a spy for the Empress, that would try to get close to her, only to turn around and give up all her secrets to her malicious boss.

Her eyes drifted over to the two men who stood aside to reveal a much smaller figure.

The girl was very pretty, but not exactly beautiful. This was mainly due to her body's poor condition. It was obvious that the girl was malnourished and physically weak. Ying Yue felt that if she so much as blew on the girl, she would collapse.

Even so, when Ying Yue met the girl's gaze, she felt a shiver crawl up her spine.
