Terms and Conditions...

In the end, he chose not to spend more SP on buying other skill sets. The price for each advance sets cost thousands of SP, and the way he spent it last time, if Eden was to continue the same process again, he was going to be so poor he won't be able to afford anything else in the store.

Even though Eden now had lots of skills, it was still useless if he couldn't use them while fabricating one. Therefore, after his interaction with Victor the remaining journey Eden didn't go out of his room. He spent the entire time practicing and understanding every advance knowledge and skills he had bought from the system.

He only got out of the room once, when the starcruiser stopped at one of the space stations in the middle of the journey to undergo through some inspection which took some hours. After that, the cruise hadn't stopped again.

After hearing the captain calling everyone to get ready; for the cruise was going to reach its destination in two hours. Hearing the Captain's, Eden left the room early. However, all of a sudden with a violent shake the ship was thrown out of hyperdrive. Also at the same time, the emergency braking system got activated.

Even though the inside of the ship had its own working artificial gravity, people inside were still thrown off from their initial position.

Eden was no different being thrown off a meter away but he was able to stabilize himself. Everyone was surprised by the current situation.

They were only two hours of distance away from the next hub, at the core of Serene Star Cluster. In other words, the ship had already entered the star system.

Some daring pirates actually went ahead and added a massive disrupter in the middle of the track to force ships off its track.

Two massive pirate ships were looming over three commercial starships that were already thrown off the track. Looking at the logos of their ships, they knew it was probably some new nameless small-timers who happen to have lots of credit to spend.

"Attention, passengers aboard the ship. As you can already see we have been attacked by two pirate groups. Even though the disrupter has initiated a force shut down on the hyperdrive system, other systems are working fine. It will take the ship over an hour to again set into hyperdrive. Therefore, we would like to ask if there are any mercenaries and such, that can fight alongside with our security personnel."

After hearing the captain broadcast without any electronic mixups, all the passengers who never underwent such situations felt nothing else except fear. Of course, some passengers happened to be mercenaries as well. The moment the captain called for help they left to provide support. Those who have already gone through life and death situations time and again, they were very calm regarding the situation as if it was nothing new.

"We have already sent an emergency signal to the Space patrol. They will be arriving for help as soon as possible. So I want to request every passenger to try and remain calm" The captain continued his monologue in a firm and manly voice, while also trying to calm the passengers down.

...

In the bigger pirate ship, the leaders of both the pirate groups were sitting together surrounded by their subordinates.

They were looking at the screen which projected the entire situation of the ships, which they were able to push out of its track.

One of them stood up while speaking in a ferocious voice, "Another ship off its track, and its a cruise. Can you believe our luck?"

"Hahaha... Going with your plan was the right choice. What danger? Once you throw some crumbs at these poor souls, they will follow you every order like good domestic dogs. Pathetic."

"So, who did you buy this time?"

Hearing the question he smirked and raising a bottle at lips he replied, "Space Patrol."

The screen flickered and new information appeared on the panel. Another leader threw away the bottle of alcohol he was drinking and stood up looking at the new information. He grinned and turned towards the subordinates.

"Graduates. Hahaha... We're rich. Get ready my juniors. We are all going slave-hunting."

....

Even though no-one could hear anything happening outside because of lack of air, they could still see some colorful explosions. Also, there was a sudden vibration that could be felt time and again.

Just as Eden was about to walk away to hide, he saw Mark together with his mercenary group getting ready, probably to provide support for the security personnel.

"Mark," Eden called out while walking towards them.

"Eden. Now would probably be a good idea to hide, one can never be too careful."

"I know," Eden replied while taking a laser rifle out of the storage module and giving it to him. "Take it."

"Don't worry about me, I have my own rifle." He replied while taking out a simple laser rifle.

"Just use it." Eden shoved his rifle into Mark's hand, "Also make sure to keep records of every shot and damage capabilities."Eden turned around to leave, "Also, don't forget to compare it with the ones that you and your friends have been using."

Mark was gobsmacked hearing the terms and conditions to use the weapon. Everyone that surrounded him looked at him strangely.

"He is a mechanic," Mark answered their unspoken question. looking around while giving an odd smile.

Finally changing the rifle, he walked away surrounded by his group.

The starcruiser was still protected by a high energy shield. Only when a lot of firepowers was directed at the ship, did a few of it struck at the metal covering.

Eden walked towards the cockpit of the cruise, after all this was the only one of the two places in the entire ship where the security was tight and he could also take cover. Another being the hyperdrive engine room. Too bad he couldn't enter that place.

...

Mark and his group of mercenaries were walking together along with the other groups who were on the same ship. Finally, after reaching the emergency exit all of them activated their combat suit and flew out of the exit.

Even though Mark didn't like to fight in a zero-gravity environment, he couldn't do anything but fight if the situation asked for it. Turning around, he rushed to the top of the ship from where he could see both pirate ships moving over them on top. However, he also saw lots of pirates, who just got out of the bigger ship was approaching towards them.

Listening over the command given to them to not rush over at the enemies, Mark didn't leave the place and waited for the ship to get closer. Finally, the leader of the security personnel gave the order to shoot the long-range weapons.

Getting the order, all of them carrying long-range weapons opened fire; alongside the ship's own weapon system, which was kind of useless.
