Who broke my Speech...

Some cried, some mumbled on and on, most of them were silent, a perfect reaction for the current situation.

The captain had already informed them, about the space patrol not answering their SOS signal.

Of course, they won't. They had probably accepted a huge commission from pirates for this task.

Also, no witnesses, no blame.

One of the biggest problems on third or fourth-rate star cluster civilization, corruption. A problem that arose because of humans' greediness.

"How can we be so unlucky?" One of them looking over the scene in front of him cried out.

"I am unlucky?" Eden questioned in his breath. You people are unlucky. Your family is unlucky.

"You lots combined negative luck has rendered even my loads of luck totally useless." Too bad he couldn't scream at them. Victor probably should be the major negative variable in this context.

While Eden was looking at the scene happening outside, he was also wondering whether he should spend more SP on luck attributes.

Last time, he had bought the attributes to five hundred points. Looking at the situation, he had no idea, how much luck attributes he needed to change the entire situation in his favor.

Just to increase the luck to one thousand, he had to buy five hundred attribute points. The cost reached a whopping 12,500SP.

"Damn it. I could have bought another advanced set of skills with that much SP." Eden felt like crying.

Drip...

A tear actually dropped from his eyes.

"Huuuuu," breathing out a long breathe Eden looked at the system's interface. "Goodbye, my another load SP."

Click, Eden initiated the transaction. With loads of SP gone, his luck reached finally reached 1000 points.

However, looking at the scene in front of him it didn't look any different from before. Suddenly the exit of the pirates' ship opened and more than two hundred pirates got out of the ship.

"Eeh! Wasn't it suppose to make me lucky?" Ed questioned himself. At least they hadn't left the ship before.

After spending so much SP, the situation didn't look any better. Instead, the new addition of pirates only made the matter worse. Eden again checked the system interface just to make sure.

[Luck: 1000]

"So... Do I need to buy some more?"

Eden questioned himself while hesitating.

Crack... Swoosh...

Suddenly another new starship was forced out of the hyperdrive.

Swoosh... Swoosh...

Following it, another two starships broke out of the hyperdrive.

Everyone, that was waiting for their worst climax looked upward at the newcomer. "Another new addition to the slave list." They thought gazing at the low-class cheap-looking starship.

.

.

.

"Good... Good... This is the way." The new pirates' leader spoke out loud taking control of the jammed communication unit while laughing on it. "This is the way to earn a massive profit." He continued.

Only his voice was heard within every ship. Hearing him speak the passengers only felt fear. Mercenaries and security personnel didn't look good either. They knew what kind of ending they were about to face. After all, they were the ones who were shooting at the pirates.

"I know, how you all are feeling, right now." The leader continued his monologue while stressing his words to add impact on his delivery speech. "Trust me. I know. Because, not too long ago, this same situation has occurred to, some of the previous batches of slaves. So, like before I will give you a choice. Come to us without resisting, or suffer."

After waiting for some seconds for the massage of surrender which he didn't get, the leader again spoke, " It seems like you have made your choice to resist us. Didn't blame us for being..."

"Surrender and we won't make your death too painful," all of a sudden a ferocious voice resonated in ever communication devices cutting off the previous monologue.

"Who the hell broke my speech?" The leader questioned while gazing around ferociously. Who knew how much practice he had gone through just trying to get familiar with his speech.

Now someone went ahead and broke it in the middle while he was delivering it. Of course, he was angry.

Exit opened on all three ships, and hundreds after hundreds of armed military got out of the ships.

The sudden appearance of more than five hundreds of military forced everyone to stay still like a statue.

"The hell! How did so many armed forces suddenly appear?" Gobsmacked the pirate leaders couldn't even voice out their thoughts anymore.

These forces were not space patrol, no the situation just got worse. These were war soldiers, along with the special forces that fought on the border against other star cluster forces.

"Wasn't the space patrol already paid? Did they go back on their words?" The pirates began questioning themselves."No. They probably don't know about the new situation. How the hell did we suddenly get so unlucky?"

The sudden appearance of the military totally disrupted the mentality of pirates.

Without speaking any longer, the military personnel just took aim and fired, while everyone else watched the show.

Within, next ten to fifteen minutes, the entire pirates' group and their three ships were fully taken over. Most of them were either killed or heavily wounded.

Eden however, was felling off. Not because of the appearance of the military, but because of the people around him.

A few moments ago, everyone around him was either sobbing or quite. However, now everyone was jumping around hugging each other and praying the Lord Above?

Who are you praying? Lord Above? How about changing the word to your "Savior"?

What about the person who saved all of your *sses while losing thousands of SP in the process?

You aren't even going to give me a hug?

Forgot it. Eden was not too petty. But he couldn't deny that the existence of his luck did make the entire conclusion rather anticlimactic.

Suddenly, he questioned himself, "Should I let the luck attributes be as it is or should I only let it take effect when needed?"

Cause no matter what it is, if the situation like the appearance of military forced happened time and again around him, everyone will begin to get suspicious. In other words, either they will consider him as a god, or he will be considered a trouble maker. Maybe even the devil, who knows?

Actually, the chances of him being considered as a trouble maker or the devil were higher.

Finally, he made up his mind.

"Hey System, is there any trigger like stuff?"

[Toggle mode activated.]

"That works too."

The system added a switch on the system interface, just below luck attributes. There was on and off switch, also count switch. Eden went ahead and turned it back on one hundred.

"I will only turn it back to thousand when needed. Also, if no ladies are going to hug me staying here any longer is only making fun of myself."

Making up his mind Ed got out of the chair and left the lobby packed with people to go rest in the room. It was going to take some time for the ship to enter the hyperdrive, also they would probably go through some inspection again.

So until the ship enters the terminal, a peaceful rest is his justice.
