Chapter 79 : The Camp

They dragged Axion and Kaizo to their camp. They throw them into a wooden shack. Inside the shack, Rum and Ramenman sit down with their hand-tied.

"Hello there. Good to see you again," Ramenman jokes.

Kaizo glared at him.

Soon, the Sveratian walk out and lock the door.

"So, you guys got caught too?" said Rum.

"What do you think? Do you think it's Sveratis custom to kidnap and tie their guest as dinner invitation?" said Axion.

"Well, you're pissed," said Ramenman. "I've never seen you this angry. Not even when Spicy Gluten made someone spill juice on you."

Axion looks away in frustration.

Rum chuckled. "So, did you guys find anything?"

"Well, if he stops asking unnecessary things, we would have found something," said Axion.

"Don't tell me you're angry because of that," said Kaizo.

"Well, if you've ever been slightly more perceptive, then I'm sure I don't have to," Axion replied.

"I can't believe you're offended by that."

"Well, I can't believe you're questioning my integrity on my cadet ranking. You're my captain. We're on the same team. I thought you're supposed to be supportive," she said sarcastically.

"Well, you're supposed to answer my questions since I'm your captain," Kaizo replied. Refusing to back down.

"You're my captain, not my father. Why do I have to tell you everything that's going on in my life?"

"I thought we're a team. We're supposed to be truthful towards each other," Kaizo slightly yelled.

"You want the truth? The truth is, you suck!" Axion yelled back.

"WHOA WHOA Okay. I left you both for like 5 minutes and you're already throwing bombs at each other," Ramenman cuts. "What is going on?"

Kaizo looked away. Axion let out a frustrated sigh as she slowly shook her head in distress.

"What about you?" Axion asked. "You've found anything?"

"The banner outside. It looks like this camp belongs to a royal. If not, a noble," said Ramenman.

"Do you think we can reason with them and get out of here?' Rum asks.

"We're not sure if this camp is allied to the Prince. This camp could belong to a noble from aristocrats faction."

"Why would a noble build a camp here?" Ramenman asks.

"Hmmm… There are few possibilities. The Aristocrats could be the one who instigated the terrorist vs the Prince. Or, they could be just reaping what is left after the battle," said Axion.

"I don't think this is an aristocratic noble camp," Kaizo denied. "The nobles are mostly a bunch of arrogant rich people. I can't imagine them going down and using their own hand to do dirty work."

"Good point," Axion replied. "Still, it would be wise not to reveal our identity just yet."

They all nod in agreement.

Shortly later, 3 men came into the shack. Two of them holding a rifle and they stand guard at the door. The air around them becomes tense.

One of the men who seemed to be their leader looked at each of them with judging eyes. He has blonde hair and blue eyes. And the only difference that makes him different from humans from earth, is the blue crystals, sticking out at the end of both of his eyes.

"So, the four of you know each other," he said.

"Pretty much," said Ramenman casually.

"Tell me your names," he asked.

"My girlfriend here is Barbara. I'm Hunter. This guy over here is Josh and..."

"And I'm going to kick Josh's ass when we get out of here," said Axion, cutting off Ramenman.

Ramenman burst out laughing.

"Why are you here?" he asked.

"Vacation," said Ramenman with confidence. "We were camping and having a double date. These two you just caught were supposed to be in charge of finding herbs for our dinner. The girl is our chef," he said as he looked at Axion.

Rum rolled her eyes. Tired of the couple play that Ramenman always pulls off.

"Vacation huh?"

"Not convincing. I know. Give them a break," said Axion. "He was caught cheating last week. They're already on the verge of divorce before they even get married."

Ramenman chuckled. "I was just strolling with that girl. It's not like I kissed her or anything..."

"ENOUGH!" yelled one of the men with a rifle. "Looks like our guest here knows how to make conversation."

The blonde Sveratis man raised his hand. Telling his men to be silent. He pulled a wooden chair and sat.

"Why here? Didn't you hear the news?" he asked.

"News? Which news?" Ramenman asks.

"There are terrorists around here."

"You mean the terrorist that Prince Sveratis fought? I thought it was supposed to be somewhere near the southern border," Ramenman insisted.

"Uh... you are near the southern border," said another man with a rifle.

"Really? I thought we're supposed to be near the eastern border," said Ramenman.

"See? I told you we shouldn't let Josh lead the way," said Axion.

"It's a wonder to me how you guys can keep spitting nonsense," said the leader.

"Mum always told me we'll be okay if we did nothing wrong," said Ramenman.

"Yes. You'll be fine. IF, you did nothing wrong," he said. "How did you get here?"

"Oh, you know. The usual. Public flight. Ride a carriage. Nice kingdom by the way. It's so medieval," said Ramenman.

"Stop this pretentiousness. You think I don't know that you're all lying?" said the leader.

"Oh, I don't know. I didn't know if Sveratis nobles actually have a brain," said Axion.

They all looked at Axion. Ramenman and Kaizo looked at her in confusion.

"That's quite an insult," said the man.

"I am the daughter of an intergalactic police chief. You can't treat me like this!" said Axion.

"Oh? Then can you show me your ID," said the man.

"Can you show us your permits?" Axion asks back. "You can't just treat people like criminals without a warrant or... legal papers."

"This is a war zone. I'm sure our Sveratian badge is enough," said the leader.

"Actually, no," said Axion. "Don't try to fool me. I know how intergalactic law works. You may have a badge but we have rights! Intergalactic Alien Rights! You can't scare us or abuse your power within your position as law enforcement."

"I will take my right to remain silent," said Ramenman with a big smile.

"God, I wish you had remained silent for the past 2 hours," said one of the men with rifles.

Apparently, Ramenman has been "very talkative" and spouting nonsense since the moment he was captured.

"Well, you are under the jurisdiction of Sveratis law…"

"Objection!" Axion cut him off. "Technically speaking we are OUTSIDE Sveratis Kingdom. So this soil we're standing on is either within intergalactic law or no law at all."

The man went speechless. Axion glares at him.

"I can win this case in the intergalactic court. But if hearing from another professional would teach you a better lesson, then I demand a lawyer," said Axion.
