Lucas will always be Lucas

Lucas arrived at the house and went inside with much haste. He saw Beatrice on the couch eating some chips and watching Netflix.

"Huh?! I thought you're at work. What are you doing here?" Beatrice furrowed her brows as she was confused with the sudden arrival of Lucas whom she thought was at work.

"I saw the video," Beatrice grabbed some chips and brought it to her mouth. Her mood instantly plummeted down and her expression turned into an uninterested one.

'He'll get mad and lecture me because of the video and the ruckus that I have made. It's better to be prepared'

She brought some chips again to her mouth and crunched on it while waiting patiently for what he was about to say.

What she meant by preparation was to eat first so she can focus solely on the food she is munching and probably blur out the sounds of his sermon.

"Are you ok? Was he able to hurt you? Do you have any pain in your body right now?"

Here it is, his long-awaited lecture and I thought that he would be different-

Wait! Did she hear it right?! Was he asking if she was alright?

She turned to him with a semi-shocked expression and she saw Lucas's face was full of worry. His grey eyes showed warmth and softness and concern for her was etched all across his face.

"Uhh yes? I'm ok… The guy was not able to hit me.."

She heard him sigh and he pulled his hair back. "I saw the video but it was a short one and I don't know the full story. What happened?"

Lucas's voice was gentle, totally different from the loud and mad one she was expecting.

"Wait! Are you not mad?" She eyed him suspiciously and thought that maybe he's just faking it all.

"Why would I be mad? I don't know anything about what happened in that video and besides, you may be a war freak but you're not the type of person who looks for a fight with every people,"

Ok, she'll omit the war freak part but what Lucas said tug at her heartstrings, no one was able to understand her nor even tried. But Lucas just told her that she was not the type of person that looks for a fight the moment she has eye contact with other people and she was just happy that someone thinks like that.

She might have kicked Lucas in the gut and punched him in the face but Lucas still thinks that she's a normal person and not a fighting machine gangster-like woman. (Although Lucas thinks she's a war freak.)

"So tell me the whole story," Lucas sat beside her and she did not have any urge to push or kick him away. So she let him sit beside her.

Her mood was great and she felt light and happy that she chatted away.

"I stopped by a convenience store to eat last night and a girl was being harassed by this shady guy. And then he started pulling her to a dark alley-"

Lucas listened intently to Beatrice who was busy narrating her little adventure last night and he couldn't help but break a smile as Beatrice was warming up to him now, enough that they could happily chat like this.

He just went home out of a whim after seeing the video with Beatrice involved in it and he couldn't be any grateful for making the decision of coming home. Because of that, Beatrice was able to talk with him freely and Lucas couldn't ask for any more than this.

He always wished that his wife would be able to talk with him comfortably and he's reaching that point slowly. He's willing to wait for Beatrice to open up more but she was always guarded up and sometimes he would lose control so it was always difficult to hold a proper conversation between them. So he couldn't help but treasure and cherish this moment together.

"-I kicked him and then Tina and I drove away from the convenience store. And then I dropped her in a crowded place but I gave her some warnings and encouragement before I let her out"

Lucas pondered on the name Tina.

'It couldn't be, right? Maybe I'm just thinking wrong... Yeah that would be weird if it was her'

He shrugged the thought off but the name Tina kept on bugging him.

"What does this Tina look like?" He asked as the thought of her won't stop bugging his mind.

"She looks innocent and was dressed decently. She had a bob cut black hair and umm It was dark so I was not able to see her face clearly but I think she's beautiful"

'Yeah, that couldn't be her. No way' Lucas thought to himself.

"Why are you asking me what she looks like? Are you into her?" Lucas's face contorted to an incredulous one.

"Wife, I just can't seem to decipher what's on that head of yours? If you're dense or just dumb enough to actually think I'm into a girl I don't even know."

Beatrice raised one of her brows, "I'm not dense nor dumb. Just asking a possibility"

"Yeah you really are dense and dumb" Lucas chuckled slightly and Beatrice felt her nerves were about to pop off again.

'They just had a wonderful conversation earlier. What happened to it now?' Beatrice thought as Lucas was on it again with his teasing.

"But you really gave that guy one hell of a beating," Lucas couldn't help but get amused with his wife, Beatrice looks delicate with her petite and short body frame but she's fierce and wouldn't back down without a fight. She packs some wild spirit inside her and she's like a little monster.

"Yeah, and I'll gladly give one to you now if you won't stop annoying me, "

Lucas gave her an innocent look as if he doesn't know what she's talking about,

"When did I ever annoy you, my dear wife?"

"Ugh! Don't you ever mix dear and wife together, you calling me wife is disgusting enough and you annoy me like all the time that I just want to crush that balls of yours."

"But how about our next generation, honeybunch wifey?"

What did she expect? Lucas will always be Lucas.
