Never Fails to Amuse

Lucas didn't return back to work and stayed with his wife.

"Aren't you going back?" Beatrice asked as she thinks Lucas doesn't have any intention to go back to work and she was straight right.

"I think the company will manage even If I'm away for a day" Lucas was still sitting beside her and watching the movie she picked earlier.

"But is it okay to suddenly leave like that? I thought you're busy at work?"

"I didn't suddenly leave, I made sure everything was done before coming here, and besides I'm the CEO so I could take my time off anytime." Lucas made an arrogant smile.

But he knew that Christina would be rattling his mouth off and endlessly cursing and killing him on her mind since he left the company without finishing any job. He left the company without prior notice and he canceled all his meetings today which meant he just basically dumped more problems and work to Christina.

"Wow, that's really unfair. Your employees would sign their resignation if they heard you saying that."

"I take good care of my employees that I doubt they would do that."

"I don't think so. If I were your employee, I would resign right away." She jokingly stated and turned to him.

Lucas had a strange glint in his grey eyes. It was much darker and more alluring than they have ever been. It was like he was trying to convey something through his eyes that Beatrice couldn't unravel.

"Yeah if you're my employee….I would come to work diligently and not miss a single day just to see you. I'll tend to you more so you'll not even think of resigning and leaving."

She felt her stomach churn but it was not the kind where she wanted to vomit or to be sick. It was a giddy feeling of excitement and pleasantness.

She averted her gaze and turned towards the movie which she doesn't have any idea what it is about already. She was embarrassed out of the blue and wondered why he said those words at her.

"I don't think I'll apply in your company if that's the case then," she laughed it off but she felt uncomfortable and restless inside.

Lucas smiled seeing Beatrice act shy and conscious which was unusual. But it was something that brought warmth to his heart and he felt like he was on cloud nine. Lucas couldn't hide his smile as if someone tugged his lips upwards.

He noticed that the scene on the T.V was a kissing one and in his peripheral vision, Beatrice was sinking down, feeling embarrassed and engrossed with the scene.

He fully looked at Beatrice with flushed cheeks and looked extremely uneasy with the event that was unfolding in front of her, but he also noticed that Beatrice couldn't stop watching and her dark amber eyes were focused on the movie.

'Cute' He thought Beatrice was cute being absorbed with the fiery kiss she was watching even though she was turning as red as a rose.

'What could she be thinking now?' He couldn't stop wondering as she looked like she was lost in deep thought and her cheeks were burning red.

'Is she thinking of something obscene? Is she imagining a hot passionate indecency?'

(Deep inside Beatrice's thoughts)

Beatrice focused her attention on the movie but it was fruitless since her mind was elsewhere.

A kissing scene suddenly showed up and her eyes couldn't get any bigger.

'Oh fuck! Why is there a kissing scene when the movie is rated 7+?! Are kids aged 7+ allowed to see a girl and a guy kissing and sexily lapping their mouths with each other? That's messed up! Netflix's rating system is seriously fucked up for kids. They're advocating adult practices with the wrong audience which can be unhealthy for children. Help them, God! '

The scene lasted for a second until they broke the kiss...….but then they kissed again and now with tongues?

'Fuck! I thought this is rated 7+? Why are there tongue kissing scenes for a kids' show?! A freaking show for children who don't know what 69 is and they're showing kissing scenes with tongues?!

And adults have the nerve to wonder why kids know how to curse, have knowledge about sexual stuff and etc. You really can't trust anything nowadays, even children's movies'

She felt her blood boil out of anger and shame with how disappointed she was with Netflix and to the guys responsible for rating the movies.

She noticed that Lucas was staring at her so she glanced back at him.

Their eyes met and Lucas felt as if time slowed down and all he could see was Beatrice. His eyes wandered from her dee9p-seated amber eyes to her straight delicate nose and found his way to her soft plump red lips.

'Why does she look more beautiful now?' Lucas has always thought that Beatrice was beautiful but how is it that she looks especially ravishing today?

In romantic movies, this moment was usually associated with a kiss....but the only one having this thought was Lucas.

"Why are you looking at me with that creepy stare?" Beatrice blurted out and Lucas almost choked on his own saliva.

He coughed with what Beatrice said and felt like he was just attacked.

"Creepy? What do you mean?"

"You were looking at me like-" she squinted her eyes and stared at him languidly, attempting to mimic what Lucas did but utterly failed, and instead looked like a tired sluggish kitten."-isn't that so creepy?"

Lucas wanted to facepalm himself for the denseness of his wife. "That was a sexy stare, you idiot"

"How was that sexy? That was the epitome of creepiness! You looked like an exhausted handsome sexy statue that gave me chills and shame." Lucas broke out into a laugh hearing her ridiculousness and shot her an amused look.

"You just called me an exhausted handsome sexy statue."

"I think you heard wrong about the handsome sexy part, screw that off! You were just being creepy!" Lucas chuckled and although the mood was spoiled, he felt happy and amused with his wife.

"I was looking and admiring you, wife." Beatrice's face contorted to a disgusting one.

"Admiring, my ass! You're just a creep acting creepily with your eyes and stuff and it's not sexy, it just makes me wanna run away and scream 'Help!'" Lucas burst into laughter and thought he never

laughed as much as he did until today. He thought he was incapable of much joy until he met and got closer to Beatrice.

She never fails to entertain him and goes beyond expectations. Beatrice Chastain Landcaster has never changed since before.
