South Balcony (2)

Vincent and Cathy kissed for a very long time as if they had never kissed before. They have even forgotten the fact that they have not entered their bridal chamber so that there would be several people passing by watching their intimate scenes.

If only Cathy knew that someone would witness their intimacy, Cathy would have definitely stopped her husband. Unfortunately, Vincent did not let Cathy aware of the environment around him. He devoured his wife's lips with seductive movements that made quick-witted Cathy unable to think clearly.

Like most romance novels, there will definitely be a scene where a married couple has intercourse on their first night. But the author does not plan to focus this story on this happy couple, so the author brings in another character.

Not long after, the couple's making out activity was interrupted by a loud 'ehem' voice. Cathy instantly broke the kiss to turn her head to the sound. Her face was crimson red as soon as she saw her sister-in-law, and her husband looked at her with a teasing smile.

"Vincent, you just need to go to your room in a few steps, why can't you wait? This is a public square, and there will be many kids walking here to get into the room."

"It's not my fault that your room is next to ours," Vincent responded ignorantly as he walked into his room, refusing to let Cathy down even though Cathy had kept asking to let her down.

"Wha...! Is he really my brother?" Vanessa grumbled to her husband.

"Yes, he is your brother and a happy man," answered Bryant in an amused tone.

"Mama, when will you let go of my eyes?"

Vanessa immediately let go of her hand that covered her seven-year-old daughter's eyes because of her brother's making out with his wife.

"Sorry, honey. Let's go back to the room. It's time to go to sleep."

"But why did you close my eyes, mama?

"Because Abi isn't big enough to see."

"What can't I see, mama?"

Vanessa just sighed. She was too tired to satisfy her daughter's curiosity.

"All right, let's sleep. Papa is very sleepy." Bryant carried his daughter and immediately entered their room.

Vanessa was relieved that her daughter promptly obeyed and yawned broadly a sign she also felt sleepy.

Katie followed Vincent's suggestion and tried to head towards the southern balcony of the mansion. She opened the door and exited, trembling in the cold feeling the night wind blows towards her.

She should have worn the jacket first or changed clothes to a warmer one. But Katie was too lazy to go up to the floor of her room. She preferred to be here for a while. If later she could not stand the cold anymore, then she will return to her room at once to sleep.

Katie looked up at the sky. What Vincent said was true. Tonight the sky is filled with stars. Katie took a sip of wine in her glass until it was empty.

There were no more drinks, should she go back to the room? But she is still not sleepy yet.

It's not because she's not feeling sleepy yet.

Lately, she's been afraid to sleep. Katie was worried when she woke up later, she was in a place she did not know. Katie was scared when she woke up; Aiden's face would be the first thing she saw.

Katie was anxious when she fell asleep, her nightmare would come to haunt her.

Ever since Aiden kidnapped her, her nights were no longer peaceful. Fortunately, Umbra patiently accompanied her when she could not sleep. Her Umbra would occasionally tell her a story about his home country and the Oostven tribes until she fell asleep. It felt as if she was a child who could not sleep if no one told her bedtime stories.

Katie took a deep breath while staring at her empty glass of wine. Finally, she decided to come back and turn around.

Right when she turned around, her eyes caught something. A man was lying in a high chair with one hand over his eyes. His position was a bit far from the door where she passed earlier, so she didn't realize someone was sleeping there.

Who is it? And again, that person doesn't wear a coat or jacket to cover his body—only a sky blue shirt with long sleeves. Katie saw the man's tuxedo perched on a chair. If the person kept sleeping on this cold night, she was sure he will definitely fall ill.

Katie decided to approach the person and slowly wake him up.

"Hey, hey," she called, shaking his shoulders gently.

Katie gasped as the man's hand, which had been on his face, now held her hand tightly. She remembered the time Aiden or his men grabbed her hand to take advantage of her. Katie's heart fluttered in fear and regretted that she had awakened him. She should just let it go and leave him be.

Katie was about to stamp her hand in preparation to run away when a pair of eyes opened and looked at her confusedly. For the second time that day, Katie was frozen in her place.

A pair of sharp, dark brown eyes seemed to hypnotize her into not moving.

This man... this person is Kinsey Alvianc!
