"You're okay."
Leira sighed and leaned back to her seat. Chae had dragged her to a club when she saw her laying around her condo doing nothing.
"Hokay I'm actually getting tired." Chae said when she pushed the door which makes loud music slipped through for a few seconds and went back to being muffled. She plopped herself back on the large sofa comfortably.
They were in their regular vip room to enjoy night life while watching people partying their brains out on the other side of the glass.
"You're not a dancing queen, Chae. Live with it." Leira snorted. Chae just shrugged and finished her drink in one go.
"Thats whiskey not water , woman chill."
"Meh. So how was he? I thought you were going to spend time with him since he's out of the job for the time being." Chae asked.
"Nah, let him sleep more." She shrugged. Playing with her phone, a call came in. She answered it after a few rings so Chae would stop sending her daggers. .
"Where are you?"
"Not mad at me anymore rich dude?" Leira said lazily. Kai sighed making her chuckle.
"In a club."
"Crying?"
"This aint Camila Cabello, Kai. What do you want?"
"Are you okay?"
"I'm thriving."
"Lei, alcohol wont make it less painful." Kai said flatly yet again making her chuckled.
"Haha I'm laughing."
Chae just rolled her eyes when Leira chatted with him and leaned on her shoulder. Now that she look their regular seats, the vip section looked a bit two big for just them two.
"I'm sending you home."
"Whatever." Leira sighed knowing well there's no point hiding from Kai and ended the call.
"I was fine awhile ago and he just had to ask me that cursed question." She muttered lowly.
Are you okay hits different when you're in pain.
Looking at Chae, she noticed her friend had drifted to sleep.
"You know you can't handle alcohol yet you drank so much today. Whats wrong, Chae? Is today a bad luck day or what." She stroked Chae's hair gently, getting drowsy herself.
The door opened suddenly making her snapped awake and turned to the door lazily.
"Are you alone ladies?" A young drunk looking man slurred while looking at them inappropriately.
They weren't even wearing a provocative outfit.
"This is a private room, get the fuck out." Leira said guarding up. Chae groaned as she felt Leira moved.
"Can I just sleep peacefully?!"
"We saw you guys mopping around in the room so we thought we would join you have fun~" Another male spoke out, inviting himself in with a sly grin.
"No thanks. Please leave before I make you. " Leira slapped his hand away when he reached out to touch her face.
"Make us then." He played with her hair. Leira was about to snap when she heard a familiar voice boomed.
"Allow me."
"Who the fuck are you?" The male spat.
"The doctor who will treat you when one of your bones broke." Kai said folding his arm.
"Heyyuuuu Kai the cold doctor!" Chae suddenly exclaimed, clapping her hands making Leira broke into a laugh but cleared her throat then made a serious face.
"Sorry lost my character there."
"Leira, are you already tipsy?" Kai sighed and went to her, ignoring the dudes.
They were immediately dragged out by the security team that were alerted when Leira rang them.
"I drank, duh."
"Alright, lets go home. You too, Chae." Kai pulled her up. Chae fell back to the sofa.
"What is home?"
"She can't walk in that state." Leira chuckled lightly.
"Woman." Kai grimaced and crouched down asking Chae to hop behind him.
"Man!" Chae said loudly to his ear when she leaned to him as he picked her up. Leira was laughing by now at Kai's annoyed face.

"My house is under a renovation right now cuz apparently my upstairs neighbor had a swimming pool as the living room and would jump out of the car if we send her home so you're my last hope, dodo bird." Leira said looking at Chae, concern. Kai folded his arm to his chest while leaning to his car.
"Her dad acting up again." Dohyon sighed and went to carry Chae from the back car seat. She immediately hugged his neck.
They were in front of Dohyon house in UN Village.
"How was Seunwo? I feel kinda bad not visiting him." Dohyon asked casually when Leira was about to slip back into the car.
"Trust me. You did the right thing." Kai chuckled darkly, narrowing his eyes at Leira.
"I know, I was just saying that to be nice." Dohyon snickered earning a slap on his shoulder.
"Go home you guys, its late. You wouldn't want that dude to get all cold towards Lei again if he knew about you two hanging out in the middle of the night." He said and went inside.
"Little did he know." Kai said lowly.
"Promise me something."
"What?"
"Don't tell my friends about it." Leira said seriously, meeting his eyes. Kai frowned for a brief moment and sighed afterwards.
He pat her hair and slightly push her into the car.
"Fine."
::
"Should I just stay in a hotel? It would be awkward to face him. Lemao." She looked at the house and leaned forward resting her forehead on the car dashboard .
"Did you just said lemao as in laugh my ass off?" Kai shook his head amused. Leira just giggled tiredly.
"Saying the word individually is kinda long. Lemao sounds nice."
"Yeah it does have a nice kick."
Leira laughed and turned her head to Kai. He had a soft smile on his face that people rarely sees.
He looks better that way.
"Cry if you want to." Kai said suddenly making Leira frowned and leaned back to her seat.
"Saying that isn't going to make me cry, bro."
"Well, you looked like you're about to break down any moment now." Kai said as a matter of factly. Leira shook her head.
"Thanks to Elaine-"
"That bitch."
"Thats not nice to say, Kai." Leira looked at him pointedly. Kai shrugged.
"Everyone been saying it. Where is the lie."
"Maybe she is right." She huffed.
"What now?"
"Maybe he doesn't really like me. Let alone love... ew saying that out loud makes me cringe."
"Then are you going to break up with him?" Kai asked seriously.
She thought about it.
"I.. I don't know. I genuinely liked him, Kai. All this time, I've been lying to myself that it would be alright. I was too preoccupied with college that I don't even noticed it." She said closing her eyes.
"Wouldn't it be better if you liked me instead that time?" Kai said playfully. Leira hummed jokingly thinking about it.
"Now that you mentioned it, yeah I think so. You would annoy me 24/7." She chuckled lightly.
"I would drag you out on a late night date even if my shift ends late." He said tucking her hair back behind her ear to see her smiling face clearly.
"You would be a good boyfriend, Kai. Your soon to be girlfriend would have loved you." She beamed patting his shoulder assuringly. Kai gulped.
When will you fight for what you want?
Are you going to just let people take things away from you?
Without thinking further, Kai let his heart control him as he pulled Leira close, pressing his lips on her's. Pouring all the bottled up feelings he had been hiding ever since the time he saw her at the University.
And they say love at first sight doesn't exist.
She tensed and began to resist as she tried to push him. Leira slapped his chest multiple times but Kai had grabbed her hand and hold it tightly until finally he looked at her, pulling away.
Her face were flushed red as she gasped for air. Her expression were all confused by the sudden act.
"Choose me instead."
"W-what?"
"I'm serious, Lei. Even the joke before. I'm always serious." Kai smiled sadly.
"Kai, I- This is not right. Doing this wont make me feel better." Leira said hurriedly and hopped down the car.
"Lei."
Leira turned around to him hesitantly when Kai held her hands. Kai had a pained expression on his face that Leira could swear she want to comfort him but she can't think.
"Either way, I'm still going to be your friend." He said assuringly.
With a nod, Leira started to walk fast into the house, not noticing she had just walked pass Seunwo who had just came down from the stairs.
He pulled her back when he noticed her flustering. She tensed again and jerked her hand from him and back palmed her lips unknowingly.
"Lei, what happened?" Seunwo asked worriedly.
Leira just turned away from him and walk up the stairs, locking herself in the guest room.
He could feel something is wrong.
Soon after, Kai stepped inside the house but stopped when he saw the latter.
"What did you do to Lei?" Seunwo asked darkly. The latter chuckled and went closer to him.
"Did you forget that you broke her heart first?"
"Don't change the subject, Kai." He clenched his jaw. Kai smirked at Seunwo's tense expression.
"I kissed her."
