Consider my feelings

Seunwo clocked in just in time as his shift starts.

"Dr Han. Night shift today? Did you get enough sleep?" A nurse asked him good naturedly.

He smiled.

"I did."

"Um, can I ask you a personal question? If you don't mind of course."

"Depends on the question."

"Well, its about your girlfriend." The nurse said straightly. Seunwo hummed.

"Why was she engaged to Dr Kim?"

He sighed mentally, not wanting to explain.

"Nurse Kang." He said looking at her eyes squarely.

"Y-yes?"

"About my relationship, can you leave it at that? I really don't want to answer such questions." He slightly leaning to the desk making the nurse all flustered.

"If you say so..sorry."

"Thank you, Yebin-ah." Seunwo smiled warmly and went ahead to his department.

"Don't worry, we're fine."

The nurse blushed when Seunwo read her mind.

"Oh my god. "

"You're leaving?"

"I got the job remember? But I'll be in the states after."

"Brazil and Havard."

Leira hummed and continued eating her ice cream. They decided to hang out at the Han River before heading back since Kai insisted on dessert.

"Wait Brazil?!" Kai repeated with the sudden realisation. Leira had to laugh at his reaction.

"Bro, you high?"

"No. So you're leaving me with Seunwo alone in that huge house? What a great start to our marriage, Lei."

"Ugh marriage." Leira grew irritated.

"Seunwo's sudden change of mood because of the topic irked you huh?"

Leira grinned playfully.

"Of course you are." Kai snorted knowing her well.

"I mean, it's not like I forced him to marry me right? Just play along. Old people are like that."

"Maybe he was caught off guard."

"Yeah sure." Leira rolled her eyes.

"The Kim elders sure had a hard time raising a brat like you."

"Right, I forgot you're the ideal son."

"And what did I get from it."

"Me." Leira wheezed right after when Kai narrowed his eyes at her.

"Are you flirting with me right now?"

"No. I'm-"

"Better be careful Lei. Watch what you say or I might really take you away."

"Yah." Leira slapped his arm getting flustered by the sudden seriousness.

"Consider yourself lucky because its Seunwo. If its any other men, I wouldn't be bothered to step back."

Smirking at her teasingly, he casually rest his head on her lap like he's used to it.

"Why am I in good terms with you again?" Leira shook her head amused.

"Because your boyfriend cares about me."

Leira cursed as she put on her black colored Saint Laurent heels and step down from the car.

"I would be sound asleep by now." She said and continue to walk into the venue and immediately saw the person she suppose to meet.

Upon walking to them, he let out a relieved sigh when he saw her. Kai noticed how the guests turned to look at the newcomer.

"Finally." Kai said smiling when she reached to him and she just rolled her eyes.

"Really? A casual party but with dresses?"

"Why not? free food but with class." He shrugged. Leira paused and looked at the food served at the buffet table.

She made a meh face.

"Good point."

"Why do you serve seafood? Why?" Hwiyun joined their circle with a plate of everything.

"Hwi, just don't eat it. No one forced you." Leira pinched his nonexistent model cheek, continuing with;

"And if I had planned this party, I would leave out the seafood for you."

Hwiyun plastered his gummy smile.

"Aigoo, Leilei is getting ghosted and pretending to be okay with it."

"I'm her plus one by the way." Kai chuckled at how Hwiyun teased his best friend.

"Oh bro didn't see you there."

Kai shook his head amused by the younger latter. Not wanting to talk about it, Leira just looked around not being able to recognize anyone familiar.

"Oho, they invited the Chois." Her eyes brighen up, making her way to them not before slapping both of her handsome male friends' shoulder. Kai raised his eyebrows briefly when Leira practically bearhug the male.

"While I'm her brother from another mother, that dude is her other half. " Hwiyun nodded looking at the male beside Leira.

Kai chuckled.

"Our Leilei really has Lee Chaerin as her only female friend huh."

"You know how Chae is. She could make anyone her friend." He shrugged. Kai nodded, agreeing with the younger male.

"Kai."

"Yo."

"Watch out for that guy for Seunwo."

"Why?"

"That dude could be both of you gentlemen's competitor. Choi Daniel is worser than you when it comes to Leira."

Kai looked at him briefly while sipping his wine.

"Yikes."

"Daniel!"

"Wow look at you, we just met a few days ago and now you're acting like we haven't in years." He said amusingly while hugging the girl warmly.

Leira just winked at him and greeted his parents politely.

"Its been awhile, Leira dear. You have gotten even more prettier." Mrs Choi said patting her cheek. She grinned.

Daniel pulled the hem of her dress down that was hiked up slightly when she throw him a hug earlier.

She was clad in a bodycon nude dress with an oversized blazer draped over her shoulder. Ironically, he was wearing matching color as her.

"Looks like our future daughter in law slipped through our fingers." Mr Choi said good naturedly.

"Yeah through mine too." He smiled sweetly making his parents shook their head amused.

"That's why you should have court her earlier, son."

"Stop joking, you're making my toes curl."

"Lei."

Leira turned to see Kai. She raised her eyebrows questioningly.

"Your brother is calling for you." Kai said and greeted the Choi family politely.

"It's nice to see you again, uncle and aunty!" Leira said and pulled both Daniel and Kai back to her circle of friends, leaving the elders to themselves.

"Happy holiday Dr Han!"

Seunwo chuckled as he clean his table.

"He worked hard so every off day is his holiday." One of the doctors at his department said.

"You must be bored seeing my face most of the time huh." He took off his lab coat, ready to go home.

"Are you kidding? I see you more than I see my wife and kids."

"Aw, Daejun missed his wifey." Dr Byun said teasing the latter.

They laughed as the door opened revealing their head of department.

"Good, you're still here. I have news for you." She said. Seunwo nodded.

He bid his colleagues goodbye as they began to tease him before following her.

"Have a seat."

Looking at his watch briefly as he sat down, she put down an envelope on the table in front of him and sat on the edge of the table.

"They accepted your request. " She gestured him to read the contents.

He nodded and was ready to excuse himself when she asked him the question.

"Why suddenly?"

"I am tired after all." Seunwo smiled at her knowingly.

She could only nodded understandingly.

Seunwo closed the door and looked back to the envelope in his hand.

"Great timing, honestly." He muttered.

Walking to the main entrance, he heard his name called by the one person he does not want to see in his current situation.

"Seunwo! Dr Han!"

"Can I pretend that I'm deaf just this once?" He said, continue to walk to his car.

"Hey!" Elaine tug his coat.

He sighed inwardly and waited for her to gasp for air from running.

The perks of having long legs.

"Didn't you hear me calling you?"

"Ah you did? I'm sorry, I wasn't focusing." He said making an apologetic face. Elaine shook her head instantly.

He noticed her hand was still on his arm and he subtly pull back.

"What is it?"

"I heard about it." Elaine frowned.

"About what?"

"Don't tell me... you don't know yet?"

"Don't know about what Elaine?" Seunwo sighed not wanting to have the conversation.

Elaine bit her lips and moved to hug him but he was quick to put his hand on her head, stopping her.

"Elaine."

"You're transferring! This must have been hard for you to decide and while you're being like this, that Kim Leira is out partying-"

"Elaine, this has nothing to do with Leira." Seunwo grew grim.

"I told you she's not good for you-"

"And you are?"

Elaine gasp when the voice of the person stood beside Seunwo. She blinked rapidly, starstruck by him.

"I heard you're free tomorrow so I came for you. My schedule is clean too." Taejin said not giving a glance to the girl but only focused on the doctor.

"Just stop talking about her, Elaine." Seunwo said leaving the girl with the pop star following suit.

"In case you didn't notice, I was listening tentatively." Taejin said as Seunwo slid into the car.

"I don't think that's a thing to boast about." He said speeding off.

"You're twitchy when it comes to that topic. You're about to snap just now aren't you?"

Seunwo sighed as Taejin tease him.

"She's not good for me. I'm not good enough for her. Lately I've been hearing those a lot."

"Who said that? Are you getting tired from it?"

He stayed silent. Taejin looked at him briefly before looking back to the window.

"It won't work if one of you gives up."

The party ended and the close friends had gathered at one of Mr Kim's mansion. Leira knew she was in for a ride when the mother arrived.

"What makes my doctor any less good than your doctor?"

"Don't test me, Leira Kim."

"Can you please stop? He's not a gold digger."

"Han Seunwo is not in the same social status as us. Please understand that. I don't want a mere-"

"So you're saying that a mother who left a newborn baby in front of her ex's door to pursue an american dream is better than a surgeon? Don't talk about class with me when you are the lowest of all!"

"Kim Leira!"

A loud crash made them jolt to shock.

Leira brought her hand to her cheek and winced when she felt the pain.

"Oh my daughter, I'm so sorry-"

"Leave this instant before I use force, Runa." Leira's dad said stopping her mother from going near her. He had step inside the study when he heard the commotion.

The woman had thrown a wine glass to the wall merely hitting Leira and the piece of shard had scratched her cheek.

"Just think about it. Marrying Kai would be a great help to your brother. Be considerate of others, Leira." Her mother said before leaving the house.

"Who's considering my feelings?" Leira muttered lowly as her fist curled.

"Daddy!"

The father sighs when he heard her voice as soon as she got inside the front door of the huge mansion.

"Don't tell her, I'm here." The elder man said to his assistant and discreetly going to hide himself.

The stomps grew louder and the door swung open revealing the daughter that he wanted to avoid.

"What is it this time, Elaine?" He sighed and sit back on his chair.

"Stop Seunwo from transferring!"

"Stop who now?"

"Dr Han Seunwo! He's transferring and I don't want him to." Elaine said slamming her hand on the table.

"Honey, there is a limit to what I can do for you. Stopping a doctor is not in my control."

"I don't care, I want him-"

"Why don't you transfer there too then? That I can do. Daddy is tired so tell me your decision tomorrow." The elderly man said and left the study.

"I can't do that. Why should I work at a shabby hospital?" Elaine grumbled and starting to think hard as to what she should do.
