"So I heard you broke up?"
Leira stopped eating and looked at him with an annoyed face.
"Not in front of my food please."
"Who dumped who?"
"Kai, what the hell."
"He did?!" Kai gasped jokingly making the girl more annoyed.
"Guess he's not nice after all. Told you I'm the better choice."
"No, he is nice. Its just that he wanted to focus on something and me with my perfect life makes him unable to." Leira said suddenly feeling a rush of sadness over her.
"He said that?" The male doctor frowned.
She scrunched her nose, stopping herself from getting emotional. Kai softened as he reached out, patting her head.
"You deserved better, Lei. I'm sorry."
Leira shook her head, continuing eating her food.
"It's what happened anyways and it is true. I never did try to ask him if he's okay. I should have seen this coming."
As if it's dejavu, somewhere is the corner of the restaurant stood a man hiding from sight with a camera.
Capturing them together.

Seunwo sighed when he saw Taejin got out of the car when he arrived home. The male gave him a playful smile.
"Isn't this nice? You work normal hours." Taejin said following the guy inside. Seunwo just hummed.
"This hospital doesn't require me to."
"Great. Lets go out!"
"I don't think that makes sense." Seunwo shook his head, untying his tie.
He was about to went ahead to the bathroom when Taejin sighed loudly.
"Guess I have to call Leira-"
"Fine fine, leave her alone. Freaking demon." The doctor grumbled and muttered the last part.
---
"So apparently Kai went to Brazil for my pretty Leira." Taejin started after they talked a lot about trivial stuff, catching up with each other's life. Seunwo nodded, twirling his wine.
"Kai always worried about her so of course he did."
They were at a private pub that only the higher class people could go so that the pop star won't get any disturbance or attention. The two always fought often as they knew each other since they were in grade school. After they went to pursuing their career, Seunwo and Taejin never lost contact and kept hanging out together like always. This day was one of the rare occasion of Seunwo agreeing to join him at a place like that.
Totally not because of the threat.
"And they became a hot topic around our community considering they did got engaged once."
Taejin saw how Seunwo clenched his jaw briefly before sipping the wine. The pop star knew that the topic will irked him somehow.
"Do you think he would make his move on her?"
"I don't care."
"Geh. So anyways, how's your first time meeting your dad?" Taejin asked making him looked at him weirdly, cocking up his eyebrow.
"Why?"
"What do you mean why? You had been curious about him since you were born. There must be something happened. Did he acknowledge you or something?"
"We just talked normally and yes he did. Probably because we're both old enough to understand and moved on." Seunwo shrugged. Taejin hummed.
"So transferring there is just a facáde?"
"Huh?"
"Nothing. You will realized it soon enough. Maybe it will be too late but who am I to care, right?" Taejin said patting his shoulder. Seunwo just shake his head and stood up from the stool.
"I'm going to freshen up a bit. "
"Don't leave me here, you're driving."
"Exactly why I need to be sober."
Leaving the pop star, Seunwo walked to the men's room to wash his face since he had a little too much wine. Drying the excess water with a tissue, he stared at his reflection briefly. What Taejin said hit too close to home and he disliked that.
"Things are better." He kept reminding himself.
He walked back to where his friend had sat only to find that he was nowhere to be seen. He sighed tiredly and sat back to his seat. That's when he realized his phone was not with him. Turning to the bartender, she smiled and gave his phone to him.
"You left it here just now and your friend is at the vip room with his celeb friends but he told me to tell you to wait for him so do you want another shot?"
"No thank you, I'm driving." Seunwo politely declined. The bartender served him iced drink instead.
Thanking the nice bartender, he drank before checking the time on his phone. He paused when he saw the wallpaper on his lock screen. Cursing inwardly at his devil of a friend, he can't help to reminisce the memories of the woman in the screen.
She was smiling sweetly at the camera with her palm under her chin as if she was looking straight at him. Shaking the thought away, he quickly changed the lock screen back to his original blank one and tucked his phone safely back into his pocket.
"Oh, Seunwo?"
The familiar voice made him turned to the girl that had recognize him. He nodded at her briefly making her invited herself to sit next to him at the bar.
"You come here too? I'm always here and I never bumped into you so today is lucky!"
"I'm not a regular. Only once or twice with a friend." Seunwo said not really wanting to talk to her.
"Oh do you want to be a regular here? I could make one for you since my dad owns this place."
"No. I don't enjoy being here that much."
"Aw, why not? We could hang out here after work like right now. It will be so much fun." She said giddily leaning herself closer to him.
Then as if the world was testing him, slow song started to play in the background as couples began slow dancing. The girl smiled, putting her hand on his.
"Dance with me?"
"I dont-"
"Oh come on, ever since you transferred, I missed you a lot. I-"
"Elaine, I really don't want to." Seunwo politely declined and pulled away his hand from hers.
Elaine bit the inside of her cheeks before making him look straight at her. Seunwo respectfully put her hands away from his face automatically, clearly uncomfortable with her skin ship with him.
"Why can't you look at me properly? I'm willing to give my life to you!"
"I can't do that. You can find someone better, Elaine." Seunwo said seriously. She frowned at that.
"Oppa, it's been a month! Don't you think it's too much? What's so good about her that I don't have? She probably dates around by now and Kai too since you broke up with her."
"I don't have to say anything to you about her. " He stood up and turned to leave but almost bumped into his friend. Taejin looked at him questioningly.
"Are you done? I'm leaving."
Taejin nodded slowly as he said that rather coldly. Watching the doctor stormed off, Taejin looked back to the lady who was sitting at his seat glaring at his friend. He raised his eyebrows understandingly and jogged to Seunwo.
"She's cursing you dude."
"Who the fuck cares."
Taejin yet again taken back by Seunwo being out of character. He never seen him being this mad since forever. The last time he did was the time his first love chose a bad guy over him.
"Maybe changing his lock screen was a bad idea but I have no regrets."
::
"Your mom is calling."
"You pick it up."
"I would but I'm in your computer you see." Hwiyun said as he had gone back to Seoul, already pursuing his postgraduate course.
Leira narrowed her eyes at him and answered the call. She mentally prepared herself for what her mother will say.
"Leira dear." Her mother said as soon as the call got through.
"Yes mom?"
"Is Kai with you right now?"
Leira grimaced when she asked that making her friend raise his brows at her. She sighed exasperatedly.
"He left just awhile ago. Why?"
"Since you have broken up with that ex of yours, will you go out with Kai now?"
"Why should I mom? Do you think that I'm some heartless doll? I loved the guy and still do so I don't think I would consider going out with anyone just yet." Leira said annoyed. Somehow the question adds the salt over her wounds.
"Oh you should consider, my pretty Leira." The tone in her mother's voice changed into somewhat scary to her.
"What?"
"I really don't want to do this but if I let you do things freely like this, you will ended up ruining your future."
"Mom-"
"Do as I say or I will not hesitate to make you and your family life miserable. I might as well not become your mother but a witch that will take away your happiness."
"I'm not your puppet. Just stop making me regret letting you in my life." Leira sighed and ended the call. She tighten her hand around her phone, wanting to throw it.
Hwiyun looked at her concerned but she just shook her head in dismay.
"I don't know anymore and I don't want to care. Talk to you later, Hwi. Ask Chae to call me. She hasn't been replying to my text."
"Okay. You're going to that hidden cave tomorrow right? Take care, Lei."
"Yeah, you too."
::
On the other side of the line, Leira's mother stood fumed when she hanged up on her in such a disrespectful manner. Without thinking twice, she dialed the number that she had been waiting to call.
"She took me lightly.. How dare she? Let's see if she can handle pressure." She said still not wanting to accept that her daughter didn't want to listen to her.
Always has everything she wanted just by asking for it, she would never take no for an answer. As the call got through, she didn't hesitate to speak her chest out.
"You can release it. It's time."
"Will do, Miss Runa."
Ending the call, the woman leaned to her palms looking at the picture on her desk in her room. She traced her hands on the picture and smiled.
"I lost everything before and I will not let that happen again."
