Accident

"Get back?"

"Not really."

"Fwb?"

"What's that?"

"Friends with benefit."

Leira made a face at her only female friend. Chae just shrugged.

"I'm just saying. So what are you guys?"

"Just....friends. Yeah. Friends. Just that. Gah, I want to cry." Leira said turning her smile upside down. Dohyon patted her head as she buried her face in her palms.

"Idiot woman, if you still not over him then why don't you get back with him?"

"....I don't think it's that easy."

Chae raised her eyebrows at her.

"Uh, I think it's that easy. Or is it you the problem now?"

"Excuse you, I'm not the one who break it off." Leira looked at her friend weirdly. The latter stood up just as the famous audi r8 rolled up in front of the warehouse.

"The heart can always change, Lei."

"If anything, it's him who seemingly do so." She sighed nodding at Hwiyun.

"Why is the Rat here?"

They heard Chae asked from the pantry.

"I've been reflecting for weeks now, can I join the club back?" Hwiyun said standing straight. Chae rolled her eyes and sat down on the bean bag.

"What's the point?"

"I stood in front of the mirror within those weeks and I have come to realise that I am indeed a very good looking person-"

"Even I know that, NEXT!" Chae said and sucked the content of her apple juice loudly.,

Leira wheezed while Dohyon just shook his head amused.

"Of course before doing that, I made it clear to the woman who I shall not name and dumped her like I should." Hwiyun said before bowing 180 degree to the gal who was beginning to fought back her smile.

"And I am deeply sorry for calling you a mean mother. I did not mean that and I think that rather than a mother you would be a hell of a cool grandmother."

"Damn straight!" Chae applaud like a proud mother seeing her son giving a speech on the stage.

"This chick really be applauding to being called a granny. That's a first." Dohyon snorted.

"Apologies accepted, Leilei twin." Chae said beaming brightly at the dude that has been ignored for weeks.

"Does this mean I can get into the Leira cult again?"

"Yes, you are back to being the president. My job as the right hand is done."

As they were laughing, they were taken back when they heard a sob.

"Lei?!"

"I missed us!" Leira wiped her tears like a maiden in distress, dabbing her tears with a antique looking napkin.

"This dude, where did she even get that stuff? Did you even clean it? It looked like it belong to a haunted castle." Chae chuckled, plopping down next to her, hugging her warmly.

"Duh, obviously. I'm allergic to dust."

"If you do then you'll probably die in one of your entourage at the dessert with all the diggings." Dohyon said amused.

"I'm sorry for making us seperated. I blame these two for that. They should have told me sooner." Hwiyun said pointedly.

"You called me a mean mother!"

"Still-"

"Alright hug it out, I need a hug!" Leira stood up and pulled Chae and Hwiyun to a group hug.

"Leira is oddly soft today." Dohyon said chuckling.

She turned to him, narrowing her eyes at him.

"You come here, old man."

"Yes..yes. your highness." Dohyon said putting his arms around them, finally completing the group hug.

"I thought I have been forgotten."

Leira snorted slapping the male's arm lightly as the male pulled the chair for her.

"You were busy, dont blame it on me."

Kai chuckled agreeing and sat across her.

The customers in the restaurant by the sea can't help but to oogle at them both. The air around them is different.

Kai was clad in full suit with two buttons unbottoned giving off a perfect young CEO vibe while Leira graced her simple yet elegant off shoulder evening dress that compliments her smooth skin and slender waist.

"Is it because I haven't seen you for months or you do look exceptional today? This is like first love all over again." Kai said plasterering his dashing smile. Leira narrowed her eyes playfully at his compliment.

"The company had an opening ceremony earlier and you called."

"So you're saying that you used me as an excuse to ditch your company's party?"

"You bet!" She cheered making the latter laugh whole heartedly.

The waiter arrived giving them the menus and Leira immediately scanned through it as if she's eager to eat.

Kai's pair of brown eyes never left her face as he gazed her.

"Did you skip lunch?"

"Yeah. I took a nap and woke up after five hours. Imagine the horror of getting ready at the last minute for that darn ceremony." Leira scrunched her nose.

"I'm done. Are you?" She asked. Kai raised his eyebrows and looked down at the menu.

"I'll have....hmm...the same as her's and I'll have french fries for starters please." He said to the waiter, closing the menu.

The waiter excused himself, leaving them to their privacy at their table.

"You remembered huh, perfect male." Leira said leaning to her palm, smiling slightly.

"The second lead guy is proven more likeable. French fries for starters. Always." He shrugged making the girl shook her head amused.

"And you are." She stood up. "Women's for a bit. Need to wash off the weird taste of the food at the party earlier- I'll spill the tea about it when I get back."

Kai nodded, keeping his eyes on the girl until she went inside the women's restroom. He sighed as he took off his blazer.

At the sight of her, entering the restaurant and walking to him with her usual smile already made his heart leap.

It took him a lot on keeping his cool when she leaned to her palm giving him a gentle smile.

"As I thought, that woman owns me." He tutted.

Seunwo sipped to his coffee as he leaned back to the wall besides the vending machine.

"Friends.."

His thought went the lady.

"Dr Han, haven't gone back yet?"

"Yes, I will in a bit. I have something to do first." Seunwo said nodding a bit to his father.

"Alright. Good work today." The elderly said and left the hospital.

Closing the office door, he walked to his car and cant help but to feel uneasy.

The night has fallen and it was around 8pm when Seunwo finished researching on other solutions for a complicated surgery to reduce the risk.

He looked back from time to time to assure himself and sees no one to blame the uneasiness. By the time he get himself into his car, he saw a man sitting inside a car not too far from his, in the darkness.

Seunwo frowned at what he had just noticed. He hurriedly sped off the hospital building, not wanting to think about it further.

"Yes mom?" He asked.

He was at the stoplight when his mother's call came in.

"You said dinner last month and I still haven't seen you."

"Ah, I'm sorry. It slipped out of my mind." He said apologetically. "Have you eaten? I can stop by today."

His mother's tone lighten up immediately making him chuckle. The light turned green and he stepped on the gas.

"I'm driving right now. I'll be there in half an hour."

"Okay. Drive safely!"

Ending the call, Seunwo was about to take a right turn to enter the highway when a car rammed into his car. He lost control of the car and crashed into a tree by the side of the road.

His sight was blurry as he winced at the state of concussion. Seunwo looked to the sight to see the car that had hit him, reverse and left the scene.

"119, what's your emergency?"

"...I'm involved...in a car....accident." Seunwo forced himself to stay awake. "Please send help."

"Okay, help is on their way. Are you heavily injured sir?"

"....."

"Sir?"

Soon, he felt his phone slipped down his hand and his vision grew darker.

The operator's voice called out for him until he completely blacked out.
