Woman in the mask

A notification along with a mechanical voice appeared on the large holographic screen-

Both of them were wondering what is going to happen next when a large amount of g force exerted on them due to the high travelling speed of the spacecraft.

"Lower the speed, this is too much for me to handle," Irene said closing her eyes.

"I'm sorry I can't, the ship is travelling at a speed of 162 mac, if we go at a lower speed than this then we will be late for the academy. So just bear this for sometimes," said Dr. Tressa.

Dr. Tressa and Aurel seemed to not be affected too much but Irene was the most affected by it.

After a few minutes, the speed gradually started to decline and in a few moments it went back to the speed which humans call normal speed.

Again a notification with a mechanical voice popped up on the holographic screen-

Irene finally took a sigh of relief. I'll never ever sit inside a spaceship ever again.(she thought to herself)

They came out of the spaceship and were awestruck at the sight. The planet seemed more like earth with lush green vegetation, stream flowing through the rocks. The scene of two suns made the planet look visually stunning. It was like they had entered a sci fi movie set.

Irene couldn't admire the beauty of the planet for long as she started puking as soon as she came out of the spaceship.

"Ah, I see you have a knack of ruining the mood of everyone around you," said Aurel.

"You're really an inconsiderable jerk," she replied back.

"Ok, everyone hold each other's hands we will be teleporting to the academy, Dr. Tressa said."

After teleporting to a place, in front of them was standing a tall hexagonal shaped building as big as a whole city. It had 2 minarets on each side which made it look like a mixture of Indian and Persian culture.

"This structure seems like it was made by ancient architects from earth, from any side it doesn't look like it was made by any extraterrestrial beings," Aurel asked curiously.

"Hmm, these were made by the ancient architects who knew about the Terrian's holocaust, so we felt an urgent need to form a secret group which can operate if earth was destroyed. Until now we have been able to protect earth, but who knows what will happen next. This was the prime base for the secret group and now it has been turned into an academy to provide training," Dr. Tressa replied.

"Then what did we do when we were on earth, I think you trained us for nearly 2 months," Aurel asked.

"Those were just the basics, you'll learn everything here and also get to test your skills and abilities here, but you cannot reveal your identity to anyone, there are already many ordinary mutants but you're the most special ones among them, so make sure to learn well," said Dr. Tressa.

"Ah, by the way what is the name of the academy, Irene asked with a sparkle in her eyes."

"You seem too excited, huh, the name of the academy is "ACADEMY OF SOLSTICE."

"Let's enter the academy now."

The three of them went to a wall since there was no gate, then Dr. Tressa took out a small rectangular badge and placed it on an extension, then suddenly a bluish light appeared and a door opened for them.

When they entered the building, Aurel suddenly stopped his movements, he was looking in front of him without any expression on his face.

"Hey, why are you here."

It was the same woman who nearly killed him off in their first meeting. She was standing with her back facing towards him. He could recognize her even if he had met her only once.

She turned back, her face covered with the same mask. "Oh, you recovered quite well," she said.

The tension in the air was too high, both of them looked into each other's eyes as if they had known each other from ages but it was difficult to say whether it was a fortunate or an ill fated relationship.

"By any chance, do you know each other," Irene broke the silence.

"Will you please remove your mask, I want to see who tried to kill me," Aurel asked.

"Sure, if you want that," she said and slowly removed her mask. Aurel first had a confused look in his eyes but gradually the look in his eyes changed as he said-

"Yes, it's you...…. it's you...… You're the one who starred in my nightmares."

(After a brief pause...….)

Eh, it's too boring, is this a melodrama or what, Irene said sarcastically but no one's expression changed even a bit.

Aurel, she is one of the best students of the academy, her name is Scarlett, said Dr. Tressa.

"I want her real identity not the fake one," said Aurel. I'm sure you would have one. What is the reason you tried to kill me and how did I reach the planets of Chronos and Tridus.

"Ok, I'll tell you, I'll tell you everything but rather you have to fulfill one condition. If you fulfill them you'll get to know every single answer and that includes your... past and (with a creepy smile) my ...…. existence. Do you agree," Scarlet asked.

"Anything, but what are the conditions. Do I need to take down more beasts or something else," Aurel asked.

"You have to defeat me in the upcoming battle arena. If you could succeed then you have a chance."

"Deal, I'll do as you say, but don't back down on your words."

Scarlett walked towards him and in an awfully close position to his face she said in his ears "Welcome to hell...…. Aiden."
