Blindfold

<< No threat detected from the identified entities, can enter the premises. >>

A robotic drone scanned both of them from head to toe and after its completion they were allowed to enter inside the academy entrance. The academy in itself was a maze which consisted almost everything that a normal human being would need.

There were 4 tier training facilities, Tier 1 had the easiest training level and Tier 4 the hardest. There was no time limit in clearing the training levels.

Dr. Tressa showed them around a hall and took them to their dorm room. "This is the room you will live in," said Dr. Tressa.

It was a normal mid-sized room with no fancy decorations. The walls were completely white and there was a large mattress lying on the floor with no bed. A small window allowed the sunlight to enter. Beside the window was a small cupboard. It was not a very big room but it was more spacious than Aurel's previous apartment.

"So, this is his room I guess and what about mine, can I also get this type of spacious room." Irene asked.

"Well, the thing is you both will be sharing this room since there are no other rooms available," Dr. Tressa replied.

What... the reaction came immediately from both of them after hearing out Dr. Tressa. While Aurel's face immediately fell down after imagining Irene as her roommate, Irene was unable to cope up with the shock.

"No, this can't happen, give this room to her, I'll adjust with any other boy, so just give it to her," said Aurel.

For the first time, Irene agreed with the decision of Aurel, but Dr. Tressa had no intention of fulfilling their demands. "She said, another one will join both of you as your roommate. Till then, freshen up and yeah, your clothes are inside the cupboard that also includes your uniforms."

"I'm sorry we can't agree to your decisions, both of them said in unison."

"You don't have any other option, stay here for now I'll arrange any other room later, I'm busy so I'll be going now." She hurriedly walked down the corridor shutting the door behind them.

"At least, tell who is the other roommate, is she a girl or boy, Irene asked but her words had a blank response."

"Hey, don't create any trouble while staying with me, I'm busy, see you later," Aurel too went outside the room leaving Irene in the room.

"Do they all think of me as a trash or what," Ah, that annoying jerk, Irene thought to herself.

Aurel hurriedly went outside the room and his eyes were only looking for Scarlett. He couldn't understand why she called her Aiden instead of Aurel. He had kept quite since the moment she called her Aiden but his mind was hurling with different thoughts.

While walking cluelessly through the corridor he stopped his footsteps midway, he peeped inside a door that had a small opening, he quietly poked his head inside and he saw someone practicing, blindfolded.

He had quite an unusual weapon, it was a set of hook swords but its head was designed like a scissor. Numerous robotic machines were throwing out balls of fire, but he was avoiding it as if he could see from which direction the balls of fire were coming. After a certain interval of time, the speed and intensity of the balls were increasing, but his footwork was faster than the speed of the balls, it was too fast for Aurel to even notice the speed of his footwork.

The speed and intensity now increased to the max level, but this time he stood firm and instead of dodging he confronted the balls. His handwork was as fast as his footwork, within a few seconds hundreds of large fire balls came towards him, he stopped the first few with his hook sword but then started attacking, one sword was used as a protective cover and another one was used for attacking.

He had unusually large amount of flexibility, he was able to stretch out his body to a larger extent than the normal human beings. At last the fire balls stopped, then a sharp object flew past Aurel's eyes and stuck in the wall. He didn't have any time for any reaction. It was a shuriken and it had stuck at a perfect distance pf just 1 cm from Aurel's eyes.

"Who are you," the blindfolded guy asked without turning his head.

Aurel was too taken aback to respond to any question.

The blindfolded guy then opened the blindfold and turned towards him. But a rather familiar voice shook him, "Aurel, is that you."

Hearing his name he turned his vision from the shuriken towards the guy, it was a familiar face for him and he called out the name Kris, his one and only friend he ever had.

Seeing him after such a long time was like a dream coming true for Aurel. He longed to see his friend too much. Kris came and hugged Aurel as tightly as he could.

"Hey, I can't believe we're meeting together in such a situation," Kris said as tears of joy rolled down his cheeks.

"I missed you, friend. You left me all alone in that shitty school," said Aurel.

"I'm sorry, I'm really sorry, you always protected me from the bullies, you even got the beating instead of me but when it was my turn to protect you, I left you all alone, I was a filthy coward, I'm really sorry," Kris couldn't hold back his tears.

"Eh, will you stop now, you look really funny when you cry. Do you know that," Aurel tried to console him.

"But how did you end up here. Did Dr. Tressa admit you here or was it Major Giant."

"Dr. Tressa and Maj... Major...what (laughing loudly). Major Giant, it's a quite funny name. but I don't know any of them, just who are they."

"What, you don't know any of them, then who admitted you here," Aurel asked.

"I was brought here by Scarlett."

"What, Scarlett," Aurel chucked.

(The bell rings...tding...…tding...….tding)

"Oh, the bell rang, hey I have to go to my room now. You too go fast otherwise you'll get punished. We'll meet tomorrow, I wish I could stay here for some more time," Kris ran off in a hurry towards his room.

"You're interesting, just what is your true identity,"(Aurel smirked with a sly thought)
