Duel

Aurel's name was called, as he walked onto the arena he could feel the excitement around him. He was yet to see the combat skills of his opponent, the general himself, but it's a given that he would be the best since he was the teacher.

After the formal greeting (bowing down), General Arashi held out his Katana and so did Aurel. He took out his Scimitar and both got ready to fight.

As soon as the fight started, Arashi dashed forward holding his Katana. Aurel expected it to be fast but it was faster than the blink of an eye. Arashi hit him in the stomach but Aurel still managed to block it somehow.

"I'm actually surprised, a new student like you was able to block my attack up to this extent," Arashi said. "Let's see if you could take this."

He dashed forward again but this time with a greater speed. Unlike last time Aurel didn't move and moved his Scimitar but before he could even complete his arm swing he got punched on his face.

"Don't just use the weapon, use your whole body, your whole body is a weapon," Arashi said.

Although Aurel was unable to attack Arashi he was still able to block a large no. of attacks.

"Pretty good, now handle this," Arashi shouted.

Arashi first moved behind Aurel with such a speed that Aurel couldn't flinch a bit and then attacked him with his Katana blade. Aurel held out his Scimitar in both hands and with full force forwarded it towards Arashi's attack but his sword was pierced in half and the impact of the blow landed Aurel straight onto the ground.

General Arashi declared the duel was over and asked all the students to gather in front of the stage.

"Today, I must say that the students who showed up for the weapons class are definitely worthy to attend my class. As you can all see this class has no more than 80 students, this is because a lot of students tend to back off thinking that wielding a weapon and fighting with it is dangerous but I want to tell you, in order to protect earth from any outward threat the younger generations must have the guts and the skills to wield a weapon."

"In the future, if there are any scuffle between yourselves then I'll not meddle in it because you need to handle any type of situation in order to become stronger but that doesn't mean you have the right to bully anyone. If you break my rules then you'll be immediately penalized and strict action will be taken against you."

"That's it for today, class dismissed," Arashi said.

Once the class had ended all the students had to submit their weapons. They could practice with them as much as they want but eventually they had to leave them back in the weapons hall.

As Aurel was heading back to his room, Alex came running towards him and asked him, "Hey, wanna hangout with me?"

After giving it a thought, he decided to hang out with Alex since it was almost lunch time and he had nothing else to do.

"If you want to know anything about this academy, ask me I know almost everything about it," Alex said.

"How do you know everything about this academy," asked Aurel.

"I did some digging about this academy before coming here," said Alex.

"Does people on earth know about this academy and most importantly do they know about the extraterrestrials," Aurel asked with excitement in his eyes.

"Very few people know about them and less than 2% among them volunteer to come here, that's why you would see only about 400-500 people amidst the 7 billion world population."

"My dad is a businessman who deals mostly with latest technology, one day while we were busy draking in an ancient Egyptian structure we found out a portal that opened in an exoplanet."

"After further research we came to know about the possible alien invasion on earth but the thing which freaked us out the most was that our very people were being infected and turned into zombies. With much request my father agreed to send me to this academy."

"You might think of this zombie thing as crazy, but when time comes you'll believe me," said Alex.

"No, it's not crazy, I believe you. But would you believe me if I say that I have encountered some zombies before," Aurel said.

Alex stopped midway and looked at Aurel as if he was reallybeing serious. "Really, did you encounter them.... how….when!"

"Then you must have had some abilities?"

"No, it's just that I got trapped in that situation somehow," said Aurel. "I didn't know a thing back then."

"Oh, you're very lucky man," Alex said.

"Do you know something about Scarlet," Aurel asked.

"Oh, seems like you're interested in her, hnnn!" Alex teased him.

"Eh, how can you say that. I asked about her because she looks too powerful. I mean just look at her whip, it doesn't look like a basic tier weapon to me."

"She is the best student of this academy and currently she holds this Tier-3 weapon. Ah, I almost forgot, she is also known as the famous masked Queen," Alex replied. "I wonder who would be able to steal her heart, she had rejected every proposal from the students very ruthlessly."

"What,.... are you serious. Who would propose a girl like her?" Aurel asked.

"A girl like her, are you really a man. Can't you see how beautiful she is and how perfect her proportions are. If I were you then I would have fell for her till now." Alex's tone changed as he was talking abut her. "Her charm is like otherworldly, she is a goddess to me. Ah, when did I fall for her."

Aurel looked at him in a strange manner and then said, "Ah, I'm sorry, I didn't knew she was this popular among boys."

"But, why would you like to befriend me, when there are many other handsome males and beautiful females in this academy," Aurel asked.

"I don't know, you are not like any other student. They all tend to show off but you...…. How should I put it, Mmm, you are very naive. So, I guess that's the reason."

"Oh, I see," said Aurel.

"I'm very hungry, come let's have lunch," Alex took Aurel to the canteen.
