*****Violet's POV*****
It was our last night in the Maldives. We had a marvelous week snorkeling, dining in a underwater restaurant, we went in a submarine and now we both sat on black cushions that where placed on top of a white picnic blanket on the beach shore, with a small wooden table placed in between us. There were candles surrounding us under the starry night sky, I was absolutely astonished at the scenery before me.
"Your mum really went all out." I laughed, "I just can't believe she planned the whole honeymoon."
"She always does stuff like this," He said whilst shaking his head, "I guess that's just one of the things my family and I love about her." A large smile was plastered on his face rendering me speechless but reality finally caught up to me, knocking me out of my dazed state when I began to think of my own mother.
"That must be nice. You know even though I have always had Chloe, I still wanted my biological mother's love. For as long as I can remember, I had always convince myself that I don't need them but now and again I get a ache in my chest longing for my parent's love. Instead all I have always ever received is hatred and hostility from them. My own father doesn't even look at me but when he occasionally does...the only emotion I can see embedded in his eyes is regret. On the other hand my mother told me she regretted my existence when I was six years old. I honestly don't know which is worse. When I was little she would drag me by my hair and lock me up in a dark storage room for a whole day with no food or water, as punishment for my disobedience or for misbehaving. She would always tell me to sit there and think about what I had done. I remember at one point in my life, I feared the darkness more than one would fear death."
I felt my eyes begin to well up as I continued, I focusing my gaze on a particular star that shone brighter than all the others in the night sky filled with dancing stars. I released a sad laugh and carried on ," The funny part was that it wasn't even my fault, it was my sister's but I was always to blame. It was like my sister lived just to make my life a living hell but in her defense our mother set us against each other before we could even talk." My voice began to crack as the tears rolled down my face.
Eric came closer and wrapped his arms around me as he pulled me into he chest and my body landed up in between his legs. I felt safe and secure in his embracement with my head resting on his broad chest.
"Can I ask you something?" His word were barely audible.
"Knock yourself out." I said but my voice was muffled due to the fact that my face was buried in his chest soaking up the comforting sent of his cologne.
"Why are you telling me all of this, before we came here we barely spoke without childish yet entertaining banter." He said with a little laugh.
"It's the ocean view ." I said whilst laughing but all he deadpanned me," Okay, I don't really know why but I feel like I can trust you. You are the only person besides Hunter that I have ever told that to."
He smiled at me and drew me into a hug whist whispering into my ear," So I guess we are enemies turned into Friends..."
*****Eric's POV*****
I held her in my arms tightly with a sudden urge to protect her. I never thought I could have ever misjudged a person so badly .
I assumed that she was a spoilt brat whose parents just pacified her with money and luxuries but the truth is was that they broke her and all I did was make it harder for her.
I continued holding her in my arms under the stars until her breath began to slow down and her tears dried out.
"All will be okay, I promise Love." I said to her sleeping form as I gathered her up in my arms and began making my way towards the hotel.

*****Violet's POV*****
"Awe, do we have to go?" I asked with a pout.
"Stop acting like a toddler. We have a flight to catch so that I don't miss an important meeting tomorrow and you as my secretary has to also attend." He turned away from his bag and looked towards me. He grabbed a towel and threw it at me.
"Heyy!!!" I yelled as it landed on my face.
"Pack!" He said very sternly.
Geez, okay don't get your brief in a knot.

I sat in the airplane and watched the island slowly fade away in the distance from the window as we soared through the sky. I didn't want to leave this exotic paradise and I guess that I was just terrified that when we get back home he would go back to his cold nature. I was worried that he would stop talking to me again.
I looked away from the window and turned to Eric whom had his eyes glued to his laptop.
The man just honestly doesn't know how to rest. We haven't even reached home yet, so we technically still on holiday. I turned my head back to the window and put my headphones in my ears and began listening to music. I felt my eyes become heavy and I slowly began to shut them closed.

"Wake up Violet." He said to me whilst lightly shaking my shoulders.
"NO…" I groaned.
"Violet!" He shouted shaking me more aggressively.
"Okay, okay. I am up!" I exclaimed as I quickly sat up straight.
"We are home." He said to me with amusement dancing in his gorgeous green eyes.
Home sweet home...
