Contract

My name is Kryta Einz Lancaster, fifth child of the king of Oryn, previously betrothed to the first prince Nox of Asterin, and right now I took my first step up to the guillotine in front.

----------------------------------------------------------

Ever since I was born I had always felt as if my life went without a word. As a child I never gave the silence much thought, I just did the only thing I did, I did all I could ever want. No one ever paid me any mind. That was all my life consisted of, til that girl showed up.

Ever since Alicia arrived everything felt odd, nothing from then on ever felt right. I first met her when I was out in my mother's garden. She had light blonde hair, so light in fact it almost looked like ivory, and bright blue eyes with high levels of saturation. She looked lovely, and she was very kind. Those were my very first thoughts on her. I was crying at the time you see, I met my father for the first time in a year and guess what? He didn't know my name.

"Sorry, who are you?"

----------------------------------------------------------

I took my second step and closed my eyes.

The crowd all around me is shouting and cheering.

"OFF WITH HER HEAD!"

I opened my eyes and looked up to a red smokey sky, one I had caused.

----------------------------------------------------------

I hated my childhood.

No one knew my name, not my mother, not my father, not my soon to be husband, not the servants, not even the official written records. Princess of the so and so kingdom, daughter of King Oryn.

But of course, I have a name, like I said earlier, my name is Kryta Einz Lancaster, a name given to me by my father who doesn't even know my name.

"Girl" or "Princess" was all I knew as my identity. Even when I asked my father or mother what my name is, they would just say nothing. It would take a near death experience to get one of the two to "remember" her name.

That near death experience was when the castle servants were preparing for the visit of multiple foreign nobles. In the midst of the chaos, the servants, my servants, forgot to tend to me for days on end. I had no food prepared, no baths set, nothing. I had no way to cook for myself and all I had was my mother's old garden. I ate some berries I found in the garden, tons of berries. I tried to drink water in some river I found in the back forest.

I guess my father and mother came to stop by when they heard nothing from me in days and found me just when I just fell in.

----------------------------------------------------------

And there goes my third step, two more to go.

I now wonder what my crimes were to bring me to this, hmm...

----------------------------------------------------------

My crimes consists of, murder, attempted murder, coercion of murder, abuse of power, assasination, unethical and inhumane treatment to both humans and animals, and so much worse.

My main crimes are assination and the unethical treatment towards people.

I had killed many commoners, I coerced many servants to kill their loved ones and those I despised. I had many help me in my plans to assassinate those who got in the way of whatever plan I had. I also did many, many awful things to people who deserved nothing.

I also did attempt to murder Alicia, my one and only sister.

----------------------------------------------------------

The man leading me to my death shoved me to the ground and pushed my head down into place on the guillotine.

My neck really hurts from the man grabbing my throat. That really shouldn't be my concern when my family sits in front of me, waiting for my death. Mother sits there hugging her youngest son, my ex-fiance stands next to a horrified little sister.

"Now prisoner, any last words" My so-called "father" said.

"Prisoner"? He didn't even say my name. Of course he didn't! HE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW MY DAMN NAME!. How could a father not even know his own daughter's name?

I closed my eyes for a second and opened them to glare at the three.

"May I have a request?"

The king said nothing in response.

I frowned but still chose to speak, "Can anyone say my name?"

The loud crowd went silent and the king seemed to be flustered by my request.

The king said nothing, he raised his hand up.

and just like that, I died-

"STOP! PLEASE!"

----------------------------------------------------------

Nothing, there was nothing at all. No light, no darkness, no sound, no nothing, there is nothing at all. That's the place I woke up.

Where am I? Didn't I die? I was executed, I was right?

"Hello? Is anyone there?"I called out, no one responded.

I hope I'm not alone, it's a bit scary here, hmm, how long have I Been here? Was this a new form of punishment father had come up with? If so, why am I here if I was about to be executed? It doesn't make sense at all.

"Oh little one….It doesn't make sense for a reason" a sudden voice spoke out from behind, I hastily turned around in an attempt to find the source.

"Who's there? Where am I? How would you know what I'm thinking?" questions were all I could think to say, I mean, it was the only sensible thing to do at that moment.

"You're in a place deemed for all the nothing to go and for those deemed more so", a shadow suddenly appeared, not that of black however, it was white, a white shadow.

"I go by the name given to me by the Atheneum, Seraph….."

"Why am I here? Where am I? Seraph! Answer the question!" I was not about to be trapped here for all of eternity just for this thing to say nothing.

"You will leave in due time," slowly but surely, that thing began walking closer and closer to me and for some unforeseeable reason, I wasn't able to move. I couldn't move!, "But first, you'll have to sign this, a contract written by the Atheneum itself. It's a privilege and a blessing to be given such a right, so I recommend you to make haste" Seraph handed me a scroll.

Atheneum, Seraph, contract? What's going on? Upon closer inspection, the contract doesn't seem readable. It has words I can read and understand but I can't read them at all at the same time.

"I can't read this"

"I know"

"Will you read it for me?"

"No

"Then I won't sign it"

"You will sign"

"I won't place my signature on a contract I can't read or understand the contents of" my act of resilience is the only thing I have left to give and oh dear, I'll give it my all.

"Just because a contract is based on mutual agreement doesn't mean some forms of force exculueded as a form of purseustaion"

Seraph now standed right against my chest. It had no facial features, no evidence of any shadow on it's skin.

"Oh Little Kryta Einz Lanecaster, are you afraid?"

Ribbons coming out no where held my hands in place and maneuvered my hands to sign the inlegiable contract.

------------------------

I woke up.
