Novas II

"Is it even safe here?", Kryta asked, coughing a bit as she spoke.

The whole city was crowded with people. The air wasn't as crisp and clean as Deoar but was at least bearable, the same can't be said for Novas. The forever lasting traffic, endless lines of people and roads. All the noise with the cars and chatter of the people. Buildings so tall they seem to reach the sky. It was almost like Deaor but way more lively and so much more colorful!

"It's not as safe as Deaor but it should be safe. Besides, I have a taser and pepper spray!" Salem said cheerfully.

Kryta shivered as she looked down at Salem, "Is that even legal?"

Salem grinned as she handed a red bottle case, "Well, this isn't Deaor!" she placed a finger on her chin as she thought, "I would have taken you to meet Owen but Reinhardt is currently visiting him and she gave strict rules to not go over…." Salem thought and thought, "We could see if they have any antique stores or book stores?" Salem suggested as she moved to face the much taller girl.

Kryta folded her arms and slouched a bit, living in this world really did have an effect on her etiquette. She thought about the many different items they sold, "We could head to the antique shop if you would so please"

Salem gave a crude smile, yet kept it ever so genuine as she spoke, "Thank you Kryta"

She held out a hand as to not lose Kryta among the crowd of people.

Kryta looked at it for a moment before accepting it with her own.

It's quite amazing to see how fast we can adapt to our environment despite the many rapid changes. We may struggle a bit to the changes but we all would eventually come to terms with the change. However, there are always those who could never get used to the changes, even if centuries were to pass they still wouldn't be to the change.

Our lovely, fantastic, magnificent, awful, disgusting, rancid, protagonist, Kryta Einz Lancaster, will experience many changes in the "distant" future. Minor changes, big changes, "middle" changes, and perhaps changes so large it just might eat her whole.

She has met very little people yet they differ so much it feels as if she met thousands of people.

The Lovely Nurse with the brown hair, kind, gentle, strict, and quite caring.

The School Girl with those neon bright cyan eyes, both shy and unconfident in the mirror image, awkward, scared of the past written in the papers, and unfortunately too desperate to fill that hole left by her missing sister …

The Astute Detective with a suit of obsidian black, young, intelligent, strong, all suitable for a detective, yet blindly loyal to her undeserving superiors.

The Mischievous Gardener with the face of two, he spills lies colored in white, the truth covered in black, a face that cowers with fear and the other laughs in amusement and pleasure.

The Genuine Brother, no matter who is to wrong him, he would always be happy to embrace them whole, he finds joy in the happiness of others, even if that happiness is from a war criminal herself.

The Quiet Boy, one she converses to near to none, no notes on him other than he watches from afar.

These very few characters you know so far could have a very large impact on history itself or none at all, directly or indirectly, who knows? I for sure do.

Feel free to ignore my words but it would be in your best interest to remember these words, these words will be the biggest change OUR dear protagonist will ever face.

"Nothing is ever set in stone, not even the past"

"It's quite nostalgic here…"

"Really? Weird…" Salem said with a hint of surprise on her face, "All this stuff is really old and to have that be nostalgic is weird to say the least…", she furrowed her eyes as she scanned the room, "To not even have things of Old here is wow!"

Kryta looked around, observing some glass trinkets, "'Old'? I'd heard some people mention that"

Salem turned towards Kryta, "Didn't I tell you already or was that someone else?"

Kryta shook her head, "I think I was told before but I don't quite remember"

Salem sighed as she thought how she would respond, "Well, to start, let me tell you the mini story thing…

Humanity has done wrong to the planet they inhabited. They had no care for their planet, and so they destroyed it til they realized it was too late. Dirting the air, polluting the soil and waters around them, poisoning the land they touched. None of the planets around were habitable and they have yet to obtain the technology to travel far. And so, a large number of countries came to peace to help solve this predicament. Time passed, and just when they were to give up, one hundred people stepped up. These one hundred would be known as the Saints in our current time. They had intelligence beyond that thought possible and with that they were able to leave the solar system. They eventually reached our current solar solar system, what people refer to as the New, the life planet humanity left is called the Old, time spent while traveling in space is known as the Median.

So yeah! Ninety nine Saints are the founders of the ninety nine cities in the Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, the most influential Saint claiming the entirety of First.

In case you didn't know, the First, Second, and the others are planets. We the people just call them that because it's neat"

"Well that sounds problematic…" Kryta had no idea how to respond to that. Just learning about space literally just weeks ago, she is amazed how civilization managed to travel through the vast emptiness of space. Planets, solar systems, galaxies, and all that still hurt her head.

"Yep, First is really….Something?" Salem said, way quieter and cautious, "So are you buying the pin?"

Kryta just nodded.

"Alright, let's go pay," Salem said, walking over to the counter.

She placed the pin on the counter as she speaked to the cashier. Kryta just looked around. This First...Just why does everyone speak about this First in such caution?

Kryta felt a tap on her shoulder, she jumped in surprise. She turned and looked at Salem who is now holding a brown paper bag with what seems to be a box with a doll inside.

"Let's go now"
