Liu Kai's Admirer

"I didn't know you had another purpose going here," King Lee said, standing close to the door and leaning at the wall with crossed arms, smiling at him, teasing him with what King Lee thought had happened.

"Of course I am different from you," said Liu Kai, assuming that King Lee was referring to his objective of moving to Sheng Chan.

'Well, I've heard that he's been sleeping for two straight freaking years. After so long, it's not terrible to enjoy a lady.' King Lee thought to himself, thinking Liu Kai and Choi Nayeon had done something before going in because Liu Kai was 30 minutes late.

They spent a lot of hours relaxing in the hot spring. After that, King Lee gave them new clothes to wear. They headed to the hallway to check out, and King Lee handed over a key to a different lady in the counter before they left.

"Please come again." The lady bowed as they walked out of the establishment.

"We sure will!" Jin Chow waived at the lady, making the three with him feel embarrassed to bring him with them. They all made sure not to turn their head to their back to check the lady's reaction to Jin Chow's attitude.

While walking, Choi Nayeon followed them outside the lobby entrance and stopped them. She stood in front of them and caught her breath for a while before she spoke, "I forgot to give this to you." Choi Nayeon lifted her hands, holding something, and raised it to Liu Kai's direction. She's holding a pair of leather sandals she purchased while they were inside the hot spring. The three stared at Liu Kai, with their eyes shining, filled with amazement.

"Thank you, Miss." Liu Kai grabbed the slippers and smiled at Choi Nayeon, who's hiding from his gaze.

"Since when did you get close to that hottie?" whispered Jin Chow.

"He's the last one to join us in the hot spring, remember?" King Lee whispered back to Jin Chow.

"Woah, you're too quick, Liu Kai." Jin Chow said, feeling envious to Liu Kai. Even Sergio pouted, envious too after he heard King Lee.

"That's not it!" Liu Kai raised his voice a bit, declining their assumptions in front of the lady.

"Oh, really?" The three responded, looking at him with suspicious eyes.

"Tsk. Think about what you want." The only answer Liu Kai could think of at that moment.

"I'm sorry about them." Liu Kai bowed to apologize for his colleagues' behavior. Choi Nayeon smiled back before she left, trying her best to compose herself.

'She showed me kindness since we got here. Is that the effect of my stinky smell to her?' Liu Kai laughed inwardly thinking about it.

Liu Kai ignored them and put the sandals on, and they continued to walk home.

It's already dark outside, and the stores are closed. No one's out there now. It appears like the people in the village are disciplined that much as they were before the Great Catastrophe happened.

A lot of astronomical objects filled the sky, shone bright like a diamond, and looked insanely majestic. It's a rewarding day for them, considering all they've all been through.

Finally, they can eat good food and have a comfortable bed to lie on. Well, not for all, since there are only two beds in each bedroom, and there are only two bedrooms. So someone's going to sleep on the couch in the living room.

"Errr... There's someone who needs to sleep on the couch tonight," said King Lee, knowing the situation. They looked at each other, giving looks that they don't want to be the one who sleeps on the couch.

They're competing over the one who's going to sleep on the couch as they're heading back home. And then they decided to play the rock paper scissors.

After several draws, they eliminated Liu Kai, making him the guy who's going to sleep in the living room.

"Hahahaha, you're out of luck. That's because you used all of it seducing that hottie ear—" Sergio hit Jin Chow in the head before he can finish his sentence.

"Man, you're so talkative! People were sleeping already!" Sergio complained, annoyed with his behavior.

Liu Kai and King Lee disregarded it, especially Liu Kai, who's used to Jin Chow already.

They are in Desmund Brashford's house now and directly went to their rooms. King Lee went to Desmund Brashford's room while Jin Chow and Sergio Von Croy went to the other room.

Liu Kai starts to lie down on the sofa.

'It's not bad after all.' Liu Kai thought to himself.

The sofa that was crafted by the dwarves feels so comfortable for Liu Kai. Keira approached him and went to his chest.

"Hey, hello little one." Liu Kai was relieved that he wasn't alone after all. He patted Keira's head until they both fell asleep.

The next morning, Desmund Brashford called as because their breakfast has already been prepared.

"Oh, this is nice," Jin Chow said happily.

They all went to the kitchen and prepared to eat.

"Tomorrow, there's going to be a hunt. I want everybody coming," King Lee said.

'Ah, I forgot to tell them yesterday.' Liu Kai suddenly recalled.

"What kind of hunting?" asked Jin Chow.

"For giant bugs, they are good resources for food and equipment." King Lee said.

"Equipment? What do you mean?" Sergio Von Croy asked.

"Hang on, let me show you." King Lee went to his room to pick up something.

"This!" King Lee showed his nunchucks crafted from a giant bug's exoskeleton.

It was well-made nunchucks made from metal and forged with a giant bug's exoskeleton and King Lee's blood.

"Woah." They are all mesmerized after seeing King Lee using it.

Jin Chow grabbed it as soon as King Lee stopped to inspect it on his own. "So you are creating weapons from Giant Bug's exoskeleton?" Jin Chow asked while still inspecting the nunchucks.

"Yes, and if you agree to join, I'll buy you your equipment today." King Lee planted his bait.

'This fool, I didn't get a chance to talk to these guys in private. Yet, he is already tempting them.' Liu Kai thought to himself.

"What do you think?" Sergio Von Croy asked Liu Kai's opinion on the matter.

"If you go, I'll go too." Sergio Von Croy added.

"Yeah, me too." Jin Chow stated.

'Why is the decision mine? Am I their father or something?' Liu Kai thought to himself.

"Let's go just this once to experience it first hand." Liu Kai said.

"Alright, it's all set then. Let's go to this guy's smithy after this." King Lee said, referring to Desmund Brashford.

"You have a smithy?" Jin Chow suddenly switched his gaze from the nunchucks to Chief Brashford, standing in front of the sink, wearing an apron.

"Yes. In truth, I am the one who created that nunchucks," Chief Brashford said.

"I hope that I have something that you prefer as your weapon in my Smithy." Chief Brashford scratched his head as he laughed awkwardly.

Everyone finished their meal and took a bath to prepare to leave the house and go to the Smithy.

A lot of people are looking at them, both humans and dwarves, while they are walking on the streets. 'Maybe because we are new in the village.' Liu Kai said to himself, noticing their gazes.

Unlike yesterday, they look decent now, with their fresh new clothing and manly smell.

Most of the women are scanning Liu Kai and whispering something to each other after seeing him.

Liu Kai, on the other hand, did not pay much heed to the many people who were talking about him.

Before the smithy, they wanted to head to the tonsorium to get a haircut.

It's a very life-changing day for them. They didn't even think they might find a village in the east. Yet still, they had one of the happiest moments throughout their journey.

After the makeover, they proceeded to the smithy to select the equipment that is ideally suited to them.
