The shit storm

As I crept deeper and deeper the goblins seemed to become taller and more human like. I instantly recognized them as hobgoblins. They were more close to a teenagers height and had about the same intelligence as a 10 year old.

Suddenly a hulking figure walked around a corner. It was quite obvious he was an orc with his massive figure and pig like face that somehow resembled a humans. Despite my shock I carried on until I came across a building that unlike others looked inhabited. On all sides there were at least two orc guards.

It was quite obvious this was the leaders house. With my mission over I headed back to the wall.

A little while later I arrive at the spot where I left Shar and Gypsy.

"They weren't alone." I say

"Huh?"

"The goblins had help, from orcs. Ha~, this is going to be one hell of a shit storm."

...

Despite their simple nature orcs are actually almost as smart as a human teenager. Combined with their thick skin and monstrous strength, they make quite a foe. Paired with hobgoblins who are at least 3 times as bad as normal goblins and you have a headache.

What's worse is that their leader must be quite powerful to lead such a large group of monsters. Truly just a shit storm waiting to happen.

...

The next day at around noon we arrived at the adventurers guild to report our findings. After a bit of waiting we were led up to the second floor where you could find a library, living quarters and most importantly the guilds branch manager's office.

The woman that led us here knocked a few times. A second later a voice that sounded as if made of chocolate but demanded respect allowed entry.

The woman that guided us pushed open the large wooden doors to reveal a well furnished office with books lining the right wall and a fire place lit with two well made chairs sitting just feet away. Dead ahead was a large desk with two chairs in front and one behind. Behind that was a large window that covered all of the back wall. Sitting in the chair opposite the ones in front of the desk sat a large breasted woman with curves in all the right places, beautiful emerald eyes, long raven black hair and a smile that both made you want to trust her but was also off putting.

The woman that guided us gave a slight bow before closing the doors behind us.

"Welcome to my humble office would you like anything to drink? I have tea, coffee, cocoa or perhaps you'd just like some warm milk?" Asked the woman

"Quite the luxurious products you have there."

"Hm?"

"Well I haven't been around for all that long and I haven't seen two of the things you listed anywhere except for those more pricy shops."

"Oh, well you know, my job has its perks."

"Why of course."

"How about we introduce ourselves? My name is Aria Green and you?"

"Shessefe"

"Sharla"

"What interesting names! Your family must be quite interesting if your names are anything to go by."

"You could say that." I say

"So I heard you have something you want to tell me?"

"Yes actually. We took a request from your board about three days ago to subjugate goblins that were bothering a village just a days and a half ride away from here-"

"Ah yes I remember that one the old man running the place came here himself about a week and a half ago."

"Well he's most likely dead. Along with all of the other villagers."

"What!?"

"Well that goblin problem was much larger than I think you thought and those first couple were probably scouts for the much larger force led by orcs."

"Orcs!? This close to the capital!? Preposterous!"

"Well it's true and quite the threat."

"Tell me everything you know."

"Well when we were on our way there we spotted a large amount of smoke so we sped up and when we arrived organs decorated the walls. I was suspicious of it just being the work of goblins so I snuck in and scouted the place out. The goblins and orcs are being lead by who knows what but they act more like soldiers than a random group of beasts lead by instinct. From what I gather their leader resides the the middle most building and is guarded by at least eight orcs at a time, thats only on the outside though. There numbers are many and there are even hobgoblins."

"DAMN!"

Sharla was startled by the sudden loud cracking of wood as the woman's fist came down on her desk.

I took her hand and we stood in silence waiting for the woman's next move.

Note: I totally forgot but for those of you who celebrate, happy belated thanksgiving! Hope you all have a wonderful day or night and thanks for reading.
