Worrisome premonitions

Within an extremely ornate room sat a girl with beauty that seemed to eclipse that of any person currently residing in the world. She held her hands in prayer as she knelt[1] on both knees. In front of her lay a statue belonging to the goddess that ruled all.

Suddenly light engulfed the girl and as soon as it came, it left. The girl quickly scrambled to find a piece of paper, a pen and ink. As fast as she could she wrote down what she had just seen before it left her mind like a simple dream.

The role of this girl was that of a seer. She was someone who had the ability to speak to the goddess, not directly but through way of visions.

When she finished scribbling down what she had seen she rushed to one of the few people she trusted most, her teacher. He had taught her everything he knew and even though he wasn't a seer himself he was quite knowledgeable on them and their art.

Normally she would've been taught by the previous seer but she had passed away shortly before she arrived at the church.

When she had burst into her teachers personal chambers she could hear a shout come from deep within the mess of books and ancient texts.

"Who's the numb skull that so rudely decided to burst into my office!"

Soon after a man with graying black hair came out from behind a pile of books.

"Oh, it's you melody. I'm sorry honey what is it that you need?"

Unfortunately during her younger years before she had been picked up by the church she had been rendered mute by way of knife and could only wave the piece of paper in his face.

...

Years before:

Her parents weren't even close to the nicest people around and one night her father had come home home especially drunk and especially angry. He took the closest object within arms reach and started swinging.

Coincidentally it happened to be a knife her mother had left out accidentally after using it to make food. The girl had tried to back away from the drunken man while also trying to calm him down. Suddenly he lunged forward and cut the girls throat before collapsing on the ground. The girl was speechless for a second before clutching at her neck. Slowly she stumbled out the front door in hopes of help.

As she slowly lost consciousness in the middle of the road a dark figure came to stand above her.

"It's not your time to leave, yet." Said the figure before she completely passed out.

When she awoke she was laying in an extravagant bed. She attempted to call out to someone but when she opened her mouth no noise came out. After several attempts and fails she decided to leave the comfort of the bed in search of someone.

Her legs seemed to turn to jelly as soon as her feet touched the floor. She heard a rustle as a person who she previously didn't spot now came to. The man was of tall stature but was rather thin. On his face he wore a worried expression. The girl once more tried to speak which only seemed to make the man sadder. He knelt down on one knee and brought he girl into his chest.

The girl felt small taps and looked up to see the man crying. She was confused as to why the man was crying especially when it seemed those tears were for her. Not once had anyone cried for her. Not once had anyone hugged her so gently.

"I'm sorry." Said the man

The girl seemed to grow even more confused. Why would he be sorry for her. And so she started her life with her adoptive parents.

...

On that day the girl learned of both her muteness and what it felt like to be loved.

That same girl violently waved a piece of in front of her teachers face. He seemed to realize what it was soon after and took the paper from the girl. When he read its contents he paled and stumbled back for what he just read was truly concerning.

He took a seat for a moment before saying, "we must report this immediately."

Note: hello just the author here just trying to develop some plot or whatever. Hope you enjoyed?

1: I'm pretty sure this is the right word but I'm not 100%, anyway I'm to lazy to look it up so tell me if it's correct or not and I'll fix it if it isn't.

I'm pretty sure I had something else to say but I don't remember, if I do then I'll probably edit this later or just put it in the next chapter.

Edit: is premonitions the right words for this? It's been bugging me since I started to write this and I'm not sure if it's right or wrong.

As usual stay safe, stay healthy and have a good whatever time of day it is for you.
