(Edit: if you notice any mistakes don't hold back on pointing them out.)
"Listen up everyone!" Aria shouted
The three of us were currently walking down the stairs into the front room when she suddenly shouted.
"I would like thank you all for coming here today. Unfortunately one of the villages close by has been over run by a hoard of goblins and orcs. Do not worry about payment as you will be rewarded handsomely as long as you participate. I will not be going this time even though I wish I could but my assistant will, and if you slack off you your cut will be noticeably smaller. Now I will let this one tell you the situation as she personally found it and seen what's going on." She said as she put her hands on my shoulders and shoved me forward.
"Huh?" I let out as I looked back
She shook her head and I sighed. When looked back I saw many skeptical gazes but went on to explain anyway.
"You better listen carefully as I'd rather not talk to any of you for an extended amount of time, got it?"
This time I got a few annoyed looks but I ignored them.
"They number in the hundreds and there looks to be a couple strong ones. Seeing as there's only thirty or so of you I'm guessing you're all at least the high end of d-rank to the low end of c-rank, right?"
I received a couple nods and continued, "many of them are regular old goblins with a few hobgoblins here and there. Once you get around three quarters the way into the village you'll start running into orcs. There aren't as many but I'd be careful as there are at least 70 of them most are stationed around the center building where I assume their leader is. I'm guessing that the assistant will be either helping kill it or killing it all by herself."
I looked back only to see Aria give a mischievous look.
"Dam it." I whisper to myself
"I would wish you luck but I don't really care what happens to you so I'll be seeing you outside." I said as I guided Sharla out the door.
On my way out I spotted the girl from earlier smiling at us.
...
"Hey Shess what did you mean by c-rank?" Sharla asked
"You didn't know?" She shook her head and I continued, "Well adventurers are ranked using letters and there are seven ranks. The ranks are s, a, b, c, d, e and f. S being the strongest and f being the weakest. Though f is about as strong as the average person while people ranking from s-e are like super human. The power gaps are huge and only increase the higher the rank so I'd be careful with our current strength."
"And what would've our current rank be?"
"I'd say we're about the mid to high end of e-rank."
Suddenly the door burst open and the thirty or so people flooded out. Shar and I were forced into the stables that rest just next to the guild. When we are near Gypsy's stall we slip in and wait for the hoard to pass.
Once the last person had gone by we hopped on Gypsy's back and rode him out of the stables onto the main road. Slowly people started filing out on their horses. After a quick Roll call we set off on the day and a half trip.
...
The first half of the trip was uneventful and me and Shar spent our time mostly lost in our own little world. That is until the woman that was staring at us in the guild approached us. I mostly ignored her advances and kept my attention on Shar. Eventually I was forced to talk to the woman when even Sharla grew annoyed by the person.
"May I help you?" I asked obviously annoyed by her persistence despite my obvious disapproval of her presence.
"Well it's nothing really, I was just curious of your relationship with that girl their."
"We're lovers," I say before planting a light kiss on Shar's cheek, "proof enough?"
"Yes, quite enough."
"Is there anything else you'll be needing?"
"Someone to converse with would be enough."
"Well, seeing as there are plenty people around us I'm sure you'll have an easy time of finding that someone."
"No they aren't the type of people I'm looking for."
"And what type of people would you be looking for?"
"The kind that's killed."
"I'm sure most of these people have killed something at least once being in this line of work."
"I don't mean monsters or animals. Anyone can do that, I'm talking about the kind that's killed another man."
"And how do you know I've killed anyone?"
"The look in your eyes and the tone you speak with to anyone but that girl. It's as if they're livestock you'd butcher at any moment if need be. Even now you're looking and speaking with me that way."
"Quite the perspective you have there but still, I'll have to decline."
"A shame considering how much of a unique person you seem to be."
...
After that me and Shar were left alone once again. Despite how hard I tried the words of the woman continued to bother me.
"Is there something wrong?" Shar asked
"It's just that I can't seem to get what that woman said out of my head."
"So you're thinking of another woman while the one you're supposed to love is sitting right here?"
"Are you jealous?"
"Maybe just a little."
"Oh, don't you worry your pretty little head. I would sooner kill myself than fall in love with another woman."
"You better not die."
"Me? Dying? It would the biggest joke of the century!"
"It wouldn't be very funny to me."
"Don't worry I don't plan on dying anytime soon, my love." I say as I bring her into my embrace. I catch a small blush before she hides her face in my chest.[1]
...
Suddenly the whole group stops as the attendant that has been if front of the group all throughout the trip puts up her arm up with her hand in a fist.
"Aaaaargh"
Out of nowhere one of the men who had been slightly ahead of us fell to the ground with a shoddily made arrow sticking out of his temple.
"Get down!" yelled one of the larger built men.
Simultaneously everyone jumped off their horse and ran for cover. Me and Shar both took cover behind a large tree with another girl who held a long staff. I could already see a few archers knocking their arrows. Suddenly someone shouted, "their!"
Everyone's heads moved to to see an a man pointing his bow towards a group of bushes. He released his arrow letting it fly at a speeds only reachable using magic. A second later a green figure dropped to the ground and a couple shrieks could be herd from the same direction.
Seconds felt like minutes as neither side made a move.
"Hey Shar." I whispered
"Yeah?" She whispered back
"I've got an idea but it's a bit dangerous."
"Ok?"
"One of us will climb up the tree and use the branches to move over to where they're hiding. Once there they can cause a distraction and the other can rush in, effectively killing them in one fell swoop. Sound good?"
She gave light nod and I continued.
"I'll take the trees since I'm better with heights and you can rush since you're faster, ok?"
Another nod and we went into action. I quickly traversed the tree and found a stable branch to walk on. Below me I could see several eyes glued to me while Shar got into a running position. In her right hand she held onto a dagger.
A minute later and I had reached a point just a bit behind the furthest goblin, a few seconds later and I was at the base of the tree.
I take a few short breaths before hopping out from behind the tree making as much noise as possible.
"What's up fuckers!" I shouted[2]
Several heads turned and I spotted Shar bolt from behind the tree. I quickly moved to the closest one stabbing into its gut before forcing the blade all the way up it's chest. Intestines fell to the ground as it shrieked in pain. Not wasting any time I moved to the second stabbing through both sides of its throat. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Sharla shoving her blade through one of the ugly green creatures heads. Behind her were a few others who seemed to have caught on and decided to join in the blood bath.
...
"DING"
"You have gained 276 exp for killing four goblins and one hobgoblin!"
For the most part I had no trouble taking care of the goblins but the hobgoblin put up more of a fight. Thankfully there was only one of them. If they truly swarmed me I don't know how long I could have lasted. Most of the fights I've had up till now were mostly flukes where I either used my size, the terrain or my enemies current state. If I were to be compared to anything it would be a wild animal, mostly surviving using my instincts. Unfortunately anybody who had the displeasure of rattling my cage was either seriously injured or killed.
After a short discussion the adults decided to backtrack a bit a tie up the horses. After that the group would split in half. One group would rap around and enter through the South Gate.
"OI, what're you doing over there!" Yelled one of the men
"Wouldn't you like to know?" I said sarcastically
"Yes, actually I would!" He retorted
I was currently standing over the dead goblins.
...
A couple days ago:
It's the last night before we make it to Tronan and I am on first watch today. Despite the terrible living conditions monsters flock to this country like moths to a flame.
"DING"
"Message from system master:
I know you're having the time of your life right now but I have small favor to ask. You agree to do it? Ohhhh~ thank you little sis! Don't worry it's nothing hard I just need you to do a bit of a a sacrifice, ritual, prayer or whatever you want to call it. It's super simple and it'll let me help you out more. Now I'm sure you're wondering why? Well despite being a god I have a limit to my powers. I need sacrifices. Personally I think that's a rather barbaric way to put it and prefer prayer. Anyway all you have to do is put a bit of your blood on any enemy you've killed and use that blood magic of yours while reciting a little~ chant. Don't worry about it though as I've already put it directly into your brain."
'Did she just make fun of my height? And did she say directly into my brain?'
"DING"
Message from system master: and don't worry, I wont tell Sharla about all of those naughty fantasies you have up there.
;)"
I immediately froze, I stayed the rest of the night glued to that spot.
...
A shiver ran down my spine just from the memory.
"HEY, I'm talking to you!" He says while grabbing my arm.
I quickly swing my dagger on instinct. Before I know what's happening my arm is stopped and the secretary is at my side holding my other arm. She gives me a glare and I drop the dagger.
"Did you just try to kill me?" Asks the man indignantly
"Yes, yes I did and if you hadn't interrupted you might not have almost lost an eye."
"You fucking brat!" He shouts while raising his other hand. I feel the release of my arm and the assistant is now holding the mans.
"You will cut it out or your pay is halved, got it?"
Nobody said a word, "do you understand!?"
"Yes ma'am." Replied the man
...
A couple minutes later and the two teams were almost completely picked.[3]
"We want speedy." Yelled the same man from before while staring at Shar.
I gave one of the most hate filled glared I could give but was instantly shot down by the assistant. I don't know what her problem was but she was seriously getting on my nerves.
"Then I'm coming too."
"Nope." Said the man. I felt a hand on my shoulder and looked back to see a gaze that told me everything would be ok.
I relented and joined the team going to the north gate.
...
We moved slowly so as to not draw attention to ourselves. As we drew nearer to the gate I noticed something wrong. There were many more goblins than when I was last here. Even with the goblins extremely accelerated breeding rate coming in at just mere hours it was impossible to have as many goblins as there were. So the only logical reason was that they moved most of their forces here which would make sense as it hadn't been long since we killed the patrol and we weren't extremely loud coming nor did we make any fires close enough for them to see the smoke. The only thing left that makes sense is that someone tipped them off, or at least made them aware of our presence.
The attendant waved us over and we all gathered in a huddle.
"The archers and magicians will attack first targeting the front of their forces causing discord and confusion. Anyone adept in melee combat will rush them while the magicians and archers continue their assault. Once the melee combatants engage the enemy archers and magicians can move up to provide cover."
A nod of acknowledgement from ever and the plan was set into motion. Simultaneously arrows and spells flew into the horde of green. Many screech's and gurgles rang out coldly as bodies fell.
Just seconds later we started our charge. I unsheathed the sword at my back and swung at the nearest creature cleaving it's head off. I spun and stabbed a goblin or more specifically a hobgoblin in the forehead before it could club me. I plunged my sword through the heart of the next and slit the throat of the one standing just behind it.
...
It was a long and grueling battle that lasted the better part of an hour.
*BOOM*
I was just finishing the last goblin as I heard a loud explosion. I knew instantly that it could only be one thing. Shar's group had run into some powerful and dangerous. Not even caring for the people around me I changed to my wolf form and raced to where the noise came from.
I instantly spotted Sharla standing in a large open area frozen in front of a hulking being twice my current size.[4] It swung its giant club at her. I raced to her, only just managing to block the blow. I was sent flying as the strength between us was miles apart.
I felt bone crack and flesh tip as I landed in a pile of rubble. I had felt pain before, more than any normal person. But this, this was more than I had felt in a long time. Several of my ribs had been broken and even some of my spine was shattered. I could feel many small fragments scattered throughout my body, poking into and tearing through my organs. Off in the distance I could see Shar scrambling through the rubble of several houses I went through. Her eyes were practically rivers as tears flooded out as she scream my name. I hear even my own heartbeat as I take in sharp breaths of cold, damp breaths.
"Damn." Is the only word that leaves my mouth before I'm sent into a fit of pain ten times as worse.
Bones snap back into place, skin stitches itself back up, organs heal and move back into place. It was all quite the interesting process but healing hurt as much as it did getting hurt.
All the while Sharla stayed right besides me bawling her eyes out. In seconds I had gone through 10 forced evolutions and add on the almost completely dead and you have one hell of a headache.

I unsteadily stood up as I shook from my still aching body. Looking back I could see the giant green ass of a thing... waving?
'Did it just WAVE!? Did that piece of SHIT actually WAVE!? The same one who almost killed ME!? The one that just made Shar CRY!? Did it think this was some game!?'
I continued to grow angrier and angrier at the thought of that... thing making fun of me. I entered "crazed state" and for a moment everything went dull before my brain went on over drive. I leaded at the beast jaws wide open, my lightning coating on full power. I tore into into left arm, tasting blood that seemed to taste worse by the moment.
I gaged as I threw up the flesh of the giant. It truly was a terrible taste. How I wish I could have a taste of Shar.
'That's it! If I kill this ugly bastard Shar might reward me with some extra blood! Hehehehe, I'll it real quick and I bet shar would be so happy but I have to have it pay for making Shar so sad. Lightning! I'll use lightning and fry it to death and tear it apart! That way it'll hurt plenty and I can use blood magic to heal it so it suffers a whole bunch. I wonder if Shar will praise me for being so smart!'[7]
I once again charged the orc, pushing it to the ground. I pinned it down with legs and bit into its throat with teeth covered in lightning. It made a gurgling sound as it was fried and healed over and over again.
...
After repeating that process for 5 straight minutes I was annoyed by all its gurgling and decided to just mail it to death. Only a minute later did I regain full control of myself did I finally take a look around.
A couple bodies from Shar's party were lying in some rubble either in meat paste or having a large hole in their stomachs, including the fat bastard that had bothered me earlier.
I assume the rest ran as I don't see any more than 5 bodies. Suddenly the girl that was staring at us in the guild burst walked out from inside one of the houses with the rest of the missing party. I showed a mocking smile to her even though I'm sure it looked more sinister. She stayed calm even in front of a wolf about three feet taller than her but the rest backed up a few paces and raised their weapons. I didn't pay much attention and looked back to where I came from. Fifteen or so people stood dumbstruck while caked in blood.
It seems they found that hoard of orcs I left for them.
Note: so here it is. The longest chapter on my novel. God this was exhausting to make but it was still fun so I hope you enjoy.
1: just in case you were wondering Sharla is sitting in front of Shessefe with her legs to the side.
2: I'm sorry but I had to.
3: imagine it like when you played dodgeball or something where there's two team leaders and they take turns picking.
4: that's like 6 meters or 18 feet.
5: so I changed the amount of stamina she gains otherwise she'd have like five time that amount or something like that.
6: Yes I know it's a lot but for like every level she gets 3 stat points and she's still not even that strong compared to characters that are going to come later. And where did I get all the exp. from? Well remember that giant wolf that tried to take her over? Yeah she still has all of that.
7: Crazy Shess is making a comeback! Mwuhahahahahaha
That's all I got for now, so byyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeee
