Chapter 6: Stay this way

In that silent embrace when none of them spoke only their hearts understood how much this meant. So many script writers around them, to try to anticipate what their walk would be like but under the snowflakes where the skies has now turn dark, Yan Lan knew the time with Kay was something more than the vocabulary of precious could represent his heart ...and Kay in his struggle to try to move on knew cross path such as this isn't just man made, it would mean there were just higher beings than them trying to lend a hand to draw peace to where things were.

And in this beautiful Mother Nature setting, he pulled himself back to look straight into Yan Lan's eyes ...."you were waiting for me?"

"Mnnn... saw you at the cafe but lost you after .....and found you again" The sound of Yan Lan's voice erases all his earlier misses and in that stare Yan Lan sought after what he wanted, Kay's feelings through the depth of his stare - it's still him this same boy. "You didn't reply any of my messages after our last meet... why?" He asked

"I ...I was told you'd be very busy and just wanted to..

He silenced Kay again with his kiss directly, his actions ... consistently confident and outrightly direct. While Kay was startled with this knowing they have been apart for a while ....but this conviction again removed the space and time apart and just brought them back to where they once were, he tried resisting but Yan Lan's grip and pressure on his waist just left him drowned in his actions, drowned in his deep passionate confession again. Yan Lan must have missed him as much, if not even more to be so deeply lost in declaring this emotion. Under the winter night skies, these two souls connected again sealing the hurt from being apart, nursing the hurt hurled from others .... just protecting and feeling home with one another, under the falling soft gentle snowflakes.

They knew this love was more than just this lifetime. All the dreams that haunted them through the misses were left to dissipate tonight where the pine trees stood again as their witness. Yan Lan caress his face looking back at Kay giving him an answer to his statement earlier that was cut short...

"I miss you, that kept me busy....so i can live on when you are not with me"

Kay look down and if there was an alternative name for him it would be Mr. Shy. Even against the cold wind his face blushed.

"It's a steep route here ... you should not have come through this path" Yan Lan said bringing them back to their present state.

"Ahh don't worry I have been here a few times yesterday" I know the place.. "ouch! Ouch!" Kay yelled out suddenly and stepped back on his ankle again, holding onto Yan Lan's arm to balance

"Why??" Yan Lan cut him off concern on his reaction

"Ahh nothing i think i might have just hurt my ankle again" He explained what happen yesterday

"Kay!! It's not funny you could have just fall down through the slope and what if the guide didn't come through would you be stranded here freezing cold and.." Yan Lan his usual overly concern attitude still remain the same when it comes to Kay

"Okay! Okay! I know it was just irrational ... won't do that again" and in this relationship it does feels sometimes their roles goes interchangeably where the Yan Lan would preside over Kay just overly protective marking his territory and belonging.

Kay miss this feeling of just being free with Yan Lan and out here it was just them being them. Like back in the filming days couples affair, which was brought to reality after.

Kay got onto his skis after much persuasion to let Yan Lan believe that his ankle is super fine not wanting Yan Lan to fuss over it so they can get back safely and fast before the routes close. The ski down was just magnificent just like how they used to.

"You sure you'd be okay? I'll lead incase there are icy patch just follow my trail behind okay? "Yan Lan cautioned Kay and off they went down the path trailing left and right to break the speed.

"Kay was trying to manage his ankle and held it together despite the pain. They trail the pine trees and breathe in the cold wind. And as Kay focus on the figure in front, he was just happy to be present at this moment with this boy.

As soon as they reached the foothill and back to the ski centre they removed their skis and returned them  for storage. Both turn sober and quiet.

"What are your dinner plans? You staying here too?" Yan Lan asked.

"Hmm not much of a plan, might take a dip first, you want to meet later for dinner?" Kay offered

"Mnnn, Probably an hour's time?" They both went back to freshen up.... awkward when Yan Lan wanted to offer to have them stay together but things had been different in a way after a while and he wanted Kay to be comfortable.

Kay managed his steps until Yan Lan was out of sight..."owh, owh... hé removed his ski boots in the locker room and decided to head straight to the hot spring bath to sooth his feet after a quick shower.

It was close to dinner time and there were not many people here. Walking into the hot bath he found a quiet corner that expands out to an outdoor view. The hot temperature soothes his muscles as he simmer quietly into the wide area, using a towel closing his face and head and sinking in the water till it reaches his neck. He massages his ankle a little and then rested quietly just taking in the warm temperature, healing from the day's activity. He would have doze off if it wasn't for the sound of the hot bath door sliding back and forth. He continue back his silent zen mode in the water but the touch of another hand on his leg made him jumped up.

"Let me see your ankle" his heart jumped at the sight of Yan Lan soaking in the water next to him. Yan Lan's concerned was genuine but the smile that follow looking at Kay's reaction made Kay a little uncomfortable.

"I'm okay ..." he was conscious they were just transparently unclothed, though the water did provide some ways to hide he was somehow shy despite knowing they had been as intimate as they could get and he could sense Yan Lan's eagerness to get close at this stage.

While he was trying to maintain his calmness, his breath gave away. Yan Lan was focus in trying to fix Kay's ankle by now and putting his finger pressure around it. They stayed there next to each other as Yan Lan took time to also soak in the hot water. There was no exchange of conversation ... the only thing that Yan Lan said was "I miss you, see you outside" before he left and wash up to get ready for dinner.

They spent dinner together at the restaurant in the hotel. But dinner was cut short and interrupted even though this was an exclusive place. There still bound to be privacy issue given their presence. And again they were trailed by reporters and Kay decided to excuse himself.

"No! Please stay!" Yan Lan pulled his wrist as Kay tried to make a dash from dinner anticipating the commotion outside of the private room they were dining at. I've asked them to secure the perimeter.

Yan Lan doesn't want to take anymore chances allowing for Kay and this night to slipped away from him again, spoilt by others. It was so hard to get this opportunity to have both of them sit down for a decent time over dinner he wants to just focus on them. "I want you to stay ... let them be" He said.
