Demonic possession(2)

At this moment, there was something else going on Chauv's mind.

'Are you sure you want me to take over, boy? Your body is still not grown up to take the burden of my spirit...' An otherworldly voice rang out in his mind.

'Yes, I'm sure. I just want that brat dead!' Chauv replied to the voice in his mind.

'It will be done. However, for that you'll have to...'

'I know, I know. 20 years of my lifespan, right?' Chauv quickly replied in an urging manner.

'Alright, then it's settled. However, As your body is at this level while your spirit also low, and as you gave me only 20 years of lifespan. The power that I can borrow from my main body will only be about that of an apprentice having peak spiritual power.' The voice again said to Chauv who was slowly losing his consciousness.

On the outside, Aren had already finished reciting spell ''probability change'', and had even constructed its spell model in his mind. The reason he held off from casting it was because he didn't know what was happening to Chauv and he didn't want to take the risk.

Holding the one white coloured and one black coloured scroll in his hand, Aren continued staring at the absentminded Chauv vigilantly. Just then, he and Katty noticed that Chauv's eyes were regaining colour.

However, Chauv's eyes glowed red instead of being like a normal human's. He then started showing strange behaviours like feeling one's muscles, clenching fingers in the palm and then loosening it. He also looked all around him and when he saw them, he gave a wicked and playful smile.

"Oh, so these are my prey." He said out loud while showing an excited expression.

"It has been a long time since I got to eat tender flesh and virgin blood." He started showing signs of madness.

As they saw Chauv doing and saying one strange thing after another, Aren became confirmed in one thing.

This was not the person he had fought earlier!

'A demonic possession?' Aren pondered and then suddenly he sensed that,

That apprentice's spiritual power was increasing and it was happening rapidly. So it really was a possession by demon!

Not good. If the possession was completed then Aren was sure that this place would become their grave.

Now that he knew what was happening, he had to stop this. Without hesitation, Aren cast the spell probability change and decreased the probability of the possession succeeding.

While the Lesser demon was trying its best to restrain its vast spiritual power from destroying Chauv's body, Aren softly said to Katty.

"Hey, be ready to cast a water wall. I'll charge forward and engage with the demon. At some point in time, I'll shout ''bra-'' No, ''bread''. As soon as you hear that, cast the water wall before me."

"Okay." Due him telling in a soft voice, she also replied in a hushed manner.

"Also, there is something else you have to do after that..." Aren then quickly said to Katty's ear who after hearing that only nodded.

"And don't forget, I said ''before me'' not behind me!" As he said that, he rushed at the Chauv while chanting ''unpredictable cards''.

When he reached before Chauv, he'd also finished constructing the spell model.

Then, aiming at the apprentice who was now covering his one eye with his palm which already had sharp claws in it, Aren solemnly cast the ''unpredictable cards'' at him.

However, this time instead of thunderbolt, fireball or an ice lance materialising- a... bunny rabbit had appeared out of nowhere!

'This really isn't a spell which can be relied upon' Although Aren was somewhat prepared for a failure, this really wasn't what he'd expected.

As for the bunny, it just hopped into Chauv's head who quickly killed it with a swipe of his claw.

'I don't have a spell which can be cast instantly.' Thinking about this, Aren tore the white scroll that was in his hand and quickly took some steps back.

At this moment, the spiritual power of the demon seemed to have calmed down as he put his hand down and looked forward. However, what came into his vision wasn't that apprentice mage but a white bright flash of light.

Light flare!

As an apprentice level light elemental spell, this was somewhat affective against Chauv who had been possessed by a lesser demon.

Still, it wasn't as effective as holy light. So the demon wasn't that injured.

"Hah, you think this will make me back down. If so, then you're just dreaming." The demon regained its playful aura as he said. 90% of the possession had been completed, so he could now use some of his abilities.

The next moment, black smoke appeared around him which shielded the demon from being affected by the bright light. As a third grade lesser demon, it was child's play for him to cope with a simple light flare, even if he was in a body of just an apprentice.

However, the next moment, he sensed that something was coming straight at him, aiming for the neck of this body that he'd possessed. Yet, the demon wasn't worried. With his vast spirit in comparison to these brats, he'd already sensed what it was.

Shiu*

Black flames burned on his hands as he caught the spike that was aiming at his neck. With a crack, he broke the spike in his hands which disintegrated into pure shadow elements and dissipated afterwards.

"You think I didn't notice that." He said with a smile, in a teasing manner even though he didn't see Aren in that smoke. But he didn't have to search for the hooded apprentice as the next moment his voice sounded from his left side.

"Bread!"

'There!...' As the demon heard Aren's voice, he quickly threw a punch with his hand, that was burning in black flames, to the direction from where the voice came.

Contrary to his expectations of the hand hitting a fleshy body, all he felt was a liquid body. As the smoke dispersed, he saw that his hand was hitting a wall of water. Behind that wall was another wall formed of soil.

'Heh, hiding behind defense... lets see how long will it take me to scatter these walls.' The demon didn't stop after sending out one punch but started rapidly attacking the walls. Within five seconds, the water wall couldn't hold out and collapsed. Just as the demon was about to send another punch to the soil wall, he suddenly smiled and threw a punch behind him.

Thud!

What hit his hand was another fist.

"You seemed to have forgotten that I am a fighter too." Aren's voice came from under his hood. Although he was pushed behind by 10 steps, there was no hint of worry behind his voice.

Strangely, the demon didn't continue his attack but instead started saying. "A very meticulous plan indeed. Hindering my sight with a light flare and attacking me with a shadow spike. However, those were only distractions. You plan to empty this body's stamina by making me attack this barrier and then slowly finish me in a fight, right?

"You seem to know that if you could damage this body the, medium of possession, then I would have no choice but to withdraw my spirit as I wouldn't be able to possess a dead body.

"You know that victory lies in defeating this body, not me. You are a smart kid. However, you don't know that which ever body I possess, it's strength would increase. So what if you're a fighter? As long as your strength is below mine, there is no chance for you to win against me."

Aren didn't say anything. Even though he knew the demon was just blabbering to get some rest and recover lost his stamina, Aren also waited. It wasn't that he wanted to lose but he had to let the demon place his attention on himself.

What the demon said was mostly true too, but he didn't know that Aren always kept himself a trump card which the demon didn't seem to have figured out yet. It was a trump card that was especially effective against those of evil alignment.
