62. The secret ride

Her hand automatically moved to the doorknob. She pulled out the dagger from her back and twisted the knob.

"Stop." The voice of the old man halted her on her track. She peeked through the door again, Lycaon lowered his hand and waited for the old man to speak. The old man coughed and opened her mouth.

"I know you will not kill any of us." The old man said in low voice.

Cressida knitted her brows and pulled her hand back from the doorknob.

Lycaon dropped his hands to his sides and scoffed a laugh. "Why do you think that?"

The old man smiled and raised his eyes at him. "Because," he paused then continued. " Only I made the antidote so far."

Lycaon arched his one brow. "and?" He glanced at the girl who stood shivering beside the old man.

The old man looked at the girl. "She's alive now." He then faced Lycaon. "For how long." The old man scoffed.
