The Assembly

Two months go by in a blink of an eye. Perhaps it was due to seeing how determined Haruka was, but Lila also became serious. She contacted the hanyous in the area and held a gathering/a meeting. She also contacted the remaining not brainwashed politicians and formed the assembly.

It took a long time to convince the politicians to work with hanyous and the same went vice versa. Both sides blamed each other for the situation getting out of hand like this. After much persuasion, eventually, both sides started to work alongside each other, and they started to form a plan to fight back against Sophia.

Lila leaned against the chair, completely drained.

The meeting that ended just a few minutes ago led to quite a number of conflicts. Things are a lot better now than before, but there is still infighting.

Moreover, there is something more important right now. One more month, no two and a half weeks left. It is a bit concerning. 'If I wasn't so busy with the assembly, I would have gone and searched for them already.'

Her thoughts broke off when somebody pressed a drink against her cheek. "Kiryu."

"Hey, finished your meeting?"

"Just now, those politicians are hard to deal with. My shoulders are so stiff."

"Shall I give you a massage?"

"Mmm, if you can."

"Kiryu, did you find anything about Haruka?"

"The entire K region has been on lockdown the last two weeks. Nobody has been able to enter or contact anybody from the inside."

Lila sighed deeply. "Even mother can't get through to uncle. I

wonder if something happened."

"Don't worry; there have been no sights of Sophia there."

But even if there have been no signs of Sophia, she still felt that something has gone wrong.

Perhaps it is just her. Her thoughts broke off when she saw the request video call button from the corner of her laptop. Lila immediately accepted the request.

"Lila-san. Please tell this guy to go away; he bothers me every day."

Lila turned to the faces on the screen. It was Shinozaki Rikka and Carter. This man was Rikka-san's fiance/boyfriend. Rikka-san tried to use Carter to get over Haruka, but it did no work, so they broke up.

"It's not safe for you to be alone there. Mother left him with you for safety."

Rikka looked upset. "But he sneaks into my room every night. Surely that is not part of the deal?"

She raised her eyebrows and turned to the blonde, who was awkwardly looking away.

"Explain."

"It's just." Carter trailed off. "Rikka has nightmares every night. I thought she would like it better if somebody was nearby."

"Then stand outside the door."

Her sweat fell when she saw Rikka-san lecturing him.

'Rikka-chan's boyfriend truly liked her, so you don't have to worry anymore, Lila-chan. If she senses that he is sincere, she won't push him away.' That is what mother said to her, but she is slightly worried.

It does not seem like Rikka-chan has any romantic feelings towards this man.

Her thoughts broke off when a man with long purple hair appeared on the screen. He wore a loose white lab coat.

"Hello Terashima-san, sorry for interrupting your call."

This is the man she had asked Haruka to look for when they first contacted each other after she ran away. He was the one running a street cart across from that bench where she left Haruka. He went incognito to persuade her to return to star town, but there was no need.

"Ryan." Lila addressed.

Ryan turned to Rikka, and he extended his hand out to touch her forehead. "I think you are still a bit feverish. You ought to rest when you can."

"Y-yes." Rikka said shyly.

Shyly? Lila looked at the scene before her dumbfounded. Uh, wait-wait, could it be that Rikka-san now likes no, no. Lila shook her head. It hasn't been that long, and not too long ago, when Haruka still had no memories, she sent that message.

But perhaps Rikka is trying to move on? This is a good sign.

"Miss Terashima Lila, why does that guy get away with touching Rikka?"

"H-he is my doctor! What touching, don't be so rude."

Even if it is a video call, these guys do they have to talk so loudly? It is giving her a headache. Kiryu suddenly leaned over and clicked the end call button, and before she knew it, he picked her up.

"Kiryu-put me down. I'm okay."

"No, you're tired. You need to get some rest."

"I still have another meeting-"

"So sleep a bit and go to your meeting. I'm not taking you back to the base."

A deep sigh passed her lips, and she reluctantly nodded. Kiryu carried her out of the room and walked down the hallway. Thankfully there was nobody in sight in the hallways; otherwise, she would have a hard time explaining why Kiryu was carrying her.

'I don't want people to misunderstand anymore. It was one of the first things I made clear when I formed the assembly regarding Haruka being the only person for me.'

There was an uproar for a while, but due to her diligent events forming the assembly, there are those who changed their mind. Some still disagree, but they cannot be openly vocal about it. For now, this is enough.

It did not take long before they arrived at her office. Kiryu placed her on the large princess-style bed in the corner. Lila rolled her eyes.

"When did this get in here?"

"You're the one who stays in your office, even though you have a room here. I figured instead of trying to persuade you. I would just bring your bed here." He tucked the blanket to her neck. "You must be freezing. The heating isn't good in this place."

"It's only normal. The heat will attract the infected, and nearly everyone here is hanyous. The politicians are normal humans."

"I don't see why you care so much for them when they practically suggested selling you off to the enemy the other day."
