Act 8

"Student Yue XiFeng, report to the principal's office. I repeat, student Yue XiFeng report to the principle's office, now."

A loudspeaker rang, signaling Yue XiFeng's fated calling to leave the school.

She leisurely strutted out of the class as the surrounding students made way, looking at her with sympathetic regards. At this point, most of them were too muddleheaded to comprehend the fact that she was an offender, as most of them see her as a victim.

With a complacent grin on her face, she waved a hand as she exclaimed, "Wish me luck, " in a cool demeanor, stimulating the surrounding students to redden in embarrassment.

Yue XiFeng was indeed well-deserved of the title school goddess for a good reason, as she had the ability to make both male and female hearts flutter.

Whilst everyone was gaping at her departing back in awe, Lian Ji quietly followed behind her, a satisfied grin on her face. She knew this friend of hers was too dazzling for us lowly people, hence she was proud of being the only friend of this peerless figure.

Catching Lian Ji's nose sticking up, Yue XiFeng chuckled as she hugged her from the side, causing the former's brain to malfunction.

She is the school goddess and 'the' girl crush, as she was handsome, charming, charismatic, and mischievous, just like an ideal prince. If you put aside her indifference and callousness, these facts alone could win the hearts of many students, make it female alike.

'Stop, my beating heart!' Lian Ji exclaimed inside of her, afraid or turning gay for her friend.

This moment reminded her of how the two met, completely unsuspecting of their current relationship. Back in the day, Lian Ji bore great resentment for Yue XiFeng, causing her to think that it was kind of strange for them to become close mates like this.

Lian Ji wanted to immerse herself at this moment but her face cheerful expression dwindled as she recalled an important matter.

"Xiao Feng..." She called Yue XiFeng with a dark expression whilst turning on her phone, scrolling the notification bar down. True to her expectations, there was a small bar that said 'YOUR HUSBAND -Ongoing call 34;58'

"...I forgot to hang up." Lian Ji guiltily continued, lowering her head as she was afraid to see the spine-tingling expression Yue XiFeng exhibited.

However, contrary to her expectations, Yue XiFeng threw an indifferent smile instead.

"He will come, " She softly muttered, a detached expression on her face.

"...what?"

"The bastard son of a b*tch will come."

Yue XiFeng reiterated, a demonic grin on her face, "Thank you, Lian Ji, because of that I have a free get out of jail and ascend the heavens card."

Indeed, Yue XiFeng intended to use her former husband as leverage, as he was one of the shareholders of this school. The reason for him willingly investing a considerable amount of money on this ordinary school was, of course, because of her.

Plus, she could demand the money on the spot... if he agrees to her requirements, that is. Though she could 'legally' earn money even if he were to reject her, it would just be slightly... harder.

Well, whether he agrees or not, he would nevertheless get her out of trouble cleanly, seeing how obsessed he was with her.

Three years of stalking... paid off by receiving a backing. It was frankly strange that all she knew about Li Qiang's current identity was that he was completely loaded, nothing more as she never bothered to care.

But from the transaction she had with him earlier, it was evident that he is not only super-rich but very wealthy as he spoke of 10 million like 10 dollars.

Putting aside the fact that he was still in power even after reincarnating, something still tremendously bothered her, though she never dared to express it.

'Why did he decide to vehemently chase the woman he loathed?'

This question evoked deep uncertainty in her, though she grew to not mind it, it nevertheless disturbed her.

But after a year of his continuous pestering, he made it so blatantly obvious to the point where even a blind man could see it. The fact that he was utterly infatuated with her romantically was evident, as he pestered her to the point of insanity. Her doubts were temporarily suppressed by irritability and she no longer questioned the absurdity of the matter.

However, though that fact no longer carried weight, she still felt ecstatic upon the notion of crushing his heart.

The exact same way he indirectly broke hers.

Wooden walls encompassed the office whilst a middle-aged man sat on chair, his hands clasped atop his large wooden desk. The sandy haired man creased his brows as he scrutinized the two students in front of him, with one of them being an uninvited guest.

He shook his head in displeasure, heavily sighing before taking his phone out for the two students to see.

"Is this your doing?" He asked in a disgruntled tone, reluctant to befall any punishment towards the school's most outstanding student.

Yue XiFeng had previously won numerous competitions for the school, though she didn't willingly enter any that didn't reward a cash prize, it didn't change the fact that she had won every single contest she'd been in, be it in academics or literature.

This fact even caused quite the number of teachers and students alike to do a thorough background check on her, as they refused to believe that such an outstanding figure was so poor. Ultimately, they remained flabbergasted by the results, as all their reports came back exactly the same.

'Poor, single parent and self-taught.'

At this point, it would be utterly ridiculous to accuse her of fraud, hence, they swallowed the bitter pill, albeit being green with envy in the process. Even the principle used to be one of these people.

Yue XiFeng unhurriedly nodded her head as her expression remained indifferent, though shortly after, her lips perked up to a subtle smirk.

"Sir, they tried to hit me first, so I retaliated as an act of self defense, " she clarified whilst crossing both her arms and legs, not bothering to even glance upon the phone as she couldn't be bothered to.

The principle harrumphed as he turned to Lian Ji, the more sensible one of the two. He knew Lian Ji's family specialized in IT, resulting in him to suspect the article to be her doing.

"Did you do this?" He repeated in a firm manner while facing the timid-girl in front of him.

Lian Ji blinked her eyes a couple of times before she replied in a tone of confusion, "Sir, how am I, a student, supposed to be able to pull something like this?" She asked with a sincerely baffled utterance, her facial expressions fitting it to a T, causing Yue XiFeng to rate her acting a 10/10.

The principle sighed as he could no longer believe the words of these two students after how they'd threaten him prior to this.

As there was only the three of them in the room, the Principal dropped his act as he rubbed his throbbing forehead.

"What do you want this time?" He asked in a straightforward demeanor. If not for the fact that he was short, he would've looked more forbidding as he hosted deterring features.

Yue XiFeng curled her lips upwards and tapped her hand repeatedly on the wooden desk with Lian Ji following in tow.

"I'm dropping out and I want to recruit you with me."
