Chapter 30: Switch on
The darkness of the night seemed to swallow everything, including the sound and the wind. The people surrounding the cottage stopped moving and seemed to have positioned themselves, ready to ambush us if we ever give them the chance. The only thing they didn't know is that we know they are there, their positions and their number. Whether it may be guerrilla warfare or a head on attack, they will still be in a disadvantageous position, given that Nine alone can kill all of them in a head on battle, at least base on my novel. Despite knowing the result of the head on battle, I still can't take chances. So I spoke to everyone using telepathy which is a combination of wind and shadow magic.
'I have a plan so I want all of you to listen' I said which made the four alert people look my way
'Nine, I want you to go out of the door and fight them head on, Zain, Tafi and Eli will be coming with me, I will hide you using shadow magic and start the assault on the back, we will take out the archers and mages first and then back up Nine in the frontlines'
Nine's face distorted at my plan, Despite not reading his mind I can tell that he still doubts me, and he might even think that we will ran away and leave him but I obviously cant do that. I am also bound by the covenants law so I also have to fulfill my end of the agreement.
Nine stood up from his crouched position so I used my magic and concealed everyone using shadow magic and light magic. By bending the light around us we will not be seen by the naked eye, by using the shadow magic our presence and mana will be concealed as well. I also activated the Dragon eyes to see the location of the marksmen and magicians. After locking their location in my mind, we immediately went out, following Nine and as soon as we got out of the house we split up.
"What are you hiding there for? and who are you?" Nine's voice reverberated from where he stood to the quite forest in the dead of the night.
"I guess it is really impossible to hide from the master of all weapons" A man with brown hair and huge body stepped out of the bush with a smirk on his face, which seemed to mock Nine.
Did I make that character? Did I name him? Why would I make such an ugly character?
The man has crooked and black teeth, his face and body are full of scars that are obviously from countless battles, His eyes also seemed to be filled with madness. He's wearing an armor which is made of steel but looked so cheap with dents and scratches in various places, The only thing exceptional about him is the pressure he emits. He should be at least a sword master.
"You, What are you doing here?" Nine asked nonchalantly
"I am here to take your life, You see, we've already given you enough time to suffer alone, just as our master ordered. You should want to die right? You are living a life of hell after all, without your beloved wife and kids" The man said sarcastically
Nine's face distorted at his words but he did not say anything and just positioned himself, which fits him so well, I mean how do warriors talk? isn't it with their swords?
"HAHAHA being here, and seeing that house, and you reminds me how fun that day was. HAHAHA I can still vividly remember how tight your daughter was around my member!! HAHAHA" The man said while laughing hysterically
I get it now, maybe it was because of this blabber mouth? he was the reason why Nine had to relive that day and know the things he never wanted to know, which lead to the emotional switch to turn back on, on its own.Did I really write this?
The very first emotion that came back after turning the switch back on was rage.
I decided to stop listening to the cruel words that came out of the person's mouth, which are somehow familiar, since you know, I was the one that wrote it!! God damn, Am I that heartless?
I focused all my senses and mind on locating and taking down archers and magicians as well as relaying information to the other 3 people that are accompanying me.
The moment that we finished taking down all the archers and magicians, the fight in the vanguard also ended and one man stood in the middle of the battlefield, with countless dead bodies surrounding him. He is also holding the man talking shit about him earlier by the neck.
"P-please, spare my life! T-The duke told me to tell you those things!! I was not there! It was-" The body of the man fell on the ground with his head rolling on the other side.
We just silently looked at Nine, If I didn't know better, I would have ran to him and ask him where his injury was but I know that all the blood covering his body were not his.
Nine walked towards the thick forest so we just silently followed behind him, He seems like he's in daze so we did not bother talk to him neither did we talk to each other.
As we follow Nine, I realized where he was heading, it was the cliff where the three piles of rock was located in the story!
and just like what Zain and Eli witnessed, Nine cried and kept apologizing as he kowtow on the ground facing the three pile of rock. So just like they did in the story, we also just sat there as he empathize with Nine, who, at last, grieved the death of the three people he loved the most in his life.
There is really no doubt now, this world is really the world inside my novel. The moment I realized that various memories from the book flooded my mind
[The
