Chapter 32: The Frasha Village today
"Lady" Sir Denise said as he went on one knee and bowed his head
Nine looked at me, confused of what is going on.
"Let's talk later, there's a more urgent matter on hand" I said as I direct my gaze to the horde of monsters that the three young men are fighting.
It wasn't that long since they started the confrontation but Zain and the others are already soaked with blood of different colors.
"You're right" Sir Denise said after standing straight and following my gaze and the next thing I know all the bodies of the monsters that are in the vanguard of the battle were cut in half and the upper halves are flying in different directions. With in a blink of an eye Sir Denise who was just standing in front of us a while ago is already in front of Zain wielding his massive sword horizontal to his body.
That is the power of Aura, an energy that weapon masters wield that gives them unbelievable power. Some say that Aura are extensions of a masters soul, so every aura is different to every master.
"Slash?" Nine mumbled as he tilt his head while looking at the fight's direction.
"Slash? Is that what Sir Denise's Aura? Isn't it a little too basic?" I asked
"That made his aura even more exceptional" Nine said with a smile on his face
I just stopped talking and continued to watch the fight.

After some time, all the monsters that went our way died, but despite that another wave of monsters are already marching towards our direction.
"This is a never ending fight!" Tafi complained as he looked at the horde which is coming our way
"I don't think I can fight anymore" Zain said as he looked at his trembling hand that holds Valentina.
I guess it takes a more life threatening moment for Zain to awaken his Aura.
"I was in a hurry so I failed to get a gate stone, if you could just wait here for a moment I will definitely come back" Sir Denise said while wheezing.
"Gate stone?" I asked
"It's this stone that acts as a magic circle at the same time a mana source to open a gate" sir Denise explained
"I was away for a long time from the cities but I know that much, just where did you and master travel? in the wilderness?" Nine said sarcastically
I just ignored him and found a better solution
"I have one of those stones, so why don't we just use it to get out of here" I said
"If you had one why didnt you say so earlier?!" Eli exclaimed with a face like I betrayed him
"Didn't Nine say that this is your application training?" I said as an excuse so the three young men glared at Nine and Nine looked at me with a dumbfounded expression, so I just smirked and opened a gate

I don't have something like a gate stone but I can open gates anywhere, they don't need to know that. I mean how would I even explain the mechanism of this skill?
All of us stepped inside the carriage and then the carriage went inside the gate, and as soon as we got inside, the gate I opened outside the walls of Frasha closed and all the monsters were confused by the disappearnce of their prey.

"Welcome to Frasha" Sir Denise said after we crossed the gate, The carriage stopped and we all got off.
The dry air of the desert is specially concentrated inside the wall, The streets are unpaved with various beggars both old and young on the street sides. They all looked our direction with hopeless dead eyes. They were just as skinny as Zain's group when I found them a year ago.
I turned my gaze to Sir Denise after scanning the place
"This is not the place to talk, lets go to my barracks first" He said and lead us to a huge building in the middle of the city.

Inside a room with a long table surrounded by chairs that looked like a meeting place all of us sat and started to talk.
"This is Sir Denise, a knight from the empire that I met a year ago, Sir Denise, these are my friends, Nine, Zain, Elliot and Tafi who had accompanied me and helped me for the past year" I said and they all nodded to each other
"I have to thank all of you for exterminating a large number of monsters, It was a huge help" Sir Denise said and bowed his head
"How is it that their number are still increasing instead of decreasing?" Nine asked
"That, I do not know, No matter how much we kill them they still come back the next day with even more of their kind than the previous days, we are even barely holding on." Sir Denise said
"The people outside, are they civilians?" I asked
"About that, It really pains me to say this but yes. A year ago, we evacuated them, and let them stay to other territories but as time goes on, they were eventually sent back to the village, due to lack of funds for their lodgings and food. It was after the first 4 months, the horde's number never decreased but the soldiers fighting them did. The more time passes, the lesser the soldiers fighting. So we conducted a protocol where all men from Frasha no matter what age, will be participating in the war in exchange for more rations than other civilians. It was effective for a couple of weeks but then the untrained men died in the battlefield one by one and the food and money given to the army also hit rock bottom, There are also no more merchants coming in Frasha so the economy inside the village completely collapsed. The people even resorted to cannibalism, I don't know if you would believe me or not, but It was not just once but it already happened countless of times. There was this one time when a young man was caught stirring a huge pot of soup who looked deranged as he cried and laughed at the same time, It was said that his mother told him to just kill her and satiate his hunger. That was only one incident, there were also reports of kidnapping and missing people almost everyday. I don't even know what to do anymore, the lords of the territory already left with all the money a week ago and I'm the only one with the highest position left in the village. Haha, I'm sorry for blabbering things like this, Its just that I don't have anyone to say this to" Sir Denise said as he looked at me with teary eyes
"I'm sorry to hear that Sir Denise" I said as I pity him. It seems like the problem is bigger and worse than I thought.
"Lady Anya, I will be shameless this one time, Not just for me but for the people of Frasha, please hep us!!" Sir Denise said as he stood up from his seat and kowtowed to the ground.
