He Is Now Mine

"How is it living with the bad boy?" Jasmine asked as we walked to our first class, English, on Monday.

"It's alright, I guess. At least he's tolerable." I said admittedly.

"Awww," Jasmine said, smiling widely. "You like him. I remember how you used to talk about him before. You used to hate him."

"I didn't hate him." I said.

"Okay, but you were always disgusted by him and his friends' delinquent behaviour, now your all mushy when you talk about him."

"Mushy? I'm not." I said, shaking my head. We reached our English class and sat down in our seat. As I sat down, I turn towards Jasmine. "He kissed me last Monday." I confessed.

Jasmine's eyes widen. "He kissed you?!" She exclaimed excitedly.

"Shhh...keep your voice down." I said, looking around to see if anyone heard her outburst.

"Sorry, he kissed you?" She asked in a whisper.

"Yes, but I don't know if it meant anything to him." I said.

"Of course it meant something to him. He wouldn't have kissed you if it didn't." She emphasized.

"Jasmine, he kissed girls all the time. Those didn't mean anything." I remind her.

"This is a totally different situation." She then leaned closer to me. "So, how was the kiss?"

"It was amazing." I answered truthfully.

Jasmine clasped her hands together. "Oh my God, this is so exciting." She expressed grinning at me. "You have your own Knight in shinning armour. You know? Since his name is Knight."

"Yes Jasmine, I get it." I said, shaking my head at her clever choice of words. Before she could say anything else, the teacher entered the classroom. Jasmine and I turned to the front of the class and the teacher began to speak.

In maths class, Mr. Malcolm gave us back our test papers. He took so long with them, that I didn't even remember about this test.

When Mr. Malcolm reached my desk, he gave me a satisfied smile. What the hell? Mr. Malcolm actually smiling? I've never seen him smile before. He was always grumpy and miserable. Especially when it came to me.

"Nice work, Kayla. This is an improvement." He said as he handed me my paper. Shocked by his comment, I looked down on my paper.

I got a B? I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I thought I did bad on this test, but all along I was doing the right thing for the most part. I was really happy with this grade. Some people might say a B is nothing, but for me in maths, it was a big deal. It was a big improvement from my original Ds and Es.

I wanted to see Carson to show him my grade, but he was not in class today. Once again, he has skipped class. I don't know why, but I wanted to share my accomplishment with him. I also wanted to thank him, because if it wasn't for him, I'll be failing this class.

At the end of the day, I went in search of Carson. I finally spotted him at his locker, so I walked over to him.

"Hey Carson, guess what?" I asked smiling brightly. "I got a B on the maths test! Can you believe it?"

"I told you that you did well." He said, smiling at my excitement.

I flung my arms around him and hugged him. "Thank you so much. You don't know how happy I am about this grade." I pulled away from the hug and added. "I know it's not an A, but it's something, considering my usual failing grades."

He crossed him arms and chuckled, clearly amused. "I'm glad I could help."

I tilted my head at him and looked at him curiously. "By the way, why weren't you at class?"

Carson grinned sheepishly at me and rubbed the back of his neck. "I was taking a nap."

"A nap?" I asked, surprised by his response.

"Yeah, I was going to attend class, but I was too tired." He replied.

I understand that he must be tired. After he had a fight on Friday, he had another one on Saturday and then again on Sunday. He didn't get any time to sleep, so I knew how tired he must be.

Carson finish getting his books from his locker and we went home.

I was just done with all my homework, when I got a text on my phone. I took up the phone that was beside me on the bed and check it. I saw that it was a text from Carson.

Carson: Come here.

Did he really just text me and he was just right next door? I shake my head. I didn't understand this boy sometimes.

I put away my books and left my room. I walked over to Carson's room and knocked on the door. Carson answered, saying that I should come in, so I opened the door. Carson was laying on his bed. His back was on the wall and one foot was hanging from off the bed.

"Seriously Carson, couldn't you have just come and call me?" I said, closing the door behind me.

He smirked at me. "Why would I, when I could text you?"

I rolled my eyes at his comment. "What do you want Carson?" I asked.

"I'm bored." He said.

"Okay, and what does you being bored have to do with me?"

"Let's play a game." He said suddenly.

I gave him a curious look. "What kind of game?" I asked.

"I don't know. How about Truth or Dare?" He suggested, smirking and wriggling his eyebrows mischievously.

"Really?" I asked, giving him a 'are you serious?' look. "I'm not playing Truth or Dare with you. If I do, I'm going to end up embarrassing myself at the end of that game."

Carson laugh loudly. "Okay then. How about Never Have I Ever?"

"I'm not drinking." I said, crossing my arms.

Carson laugh. "We could use soda." He suggested.

"Okay fair enough." I said, sitting on the soft carpet in front of his bed.

Carson came off the bed and left the room. He appeared a few seconds later with a pack of soda. The pack contained six. "Let's hope this game works in my favour or I be full and won't be able to move." I said.

Carson joined me on the floor. He sat with his back resting on the foot of the bed. "Now where would the fun be in that?" He questioned teasingly. He opened two of the cans of sodas and placed one before me. "Okay, I'll begin. Never have I ever kissed a guy."

I glared at him as I took up my soda can and drink some. Carson grinned. Nice play, but I'm going to get him back. "Never have I ever been in a fight." I said.

Carson took up his soda and drink. "Never have I ever tried guessing someone's password." Carson looked at me intently and when I didn't drink, said. "You have never done that?"

"Nope. What do you take me for?" I said grinning in victory. "You better drink up." Carson sigh dramatically and drink his soda again. "Never have I ever smoked any substance."

Carson took up his soda again and drink. "Never have I ever slipped and fell on nothing."

As I drink, Carson began to laugh. I glare at him. "Hey! It's not funny. It's not my fault I'm clumsy." I tried to defend myself. Carson continued to laugh and I crossed my arms waiting for him to stop.

"Okay, okay." He said, gesturing with his hands. "You can continue now."

"Never have I ever sent nude pictures to anyone." I said watching Carson anticipating his response. Surprisingly, he didn't drink. "You have never?"

Carson shook his head. "No, never ever. I've received though." He said with a smirk, then added. "I think that means you should drink, Kitten."

I grudgingly took up my soda and drink. I can't believe he caught me there. Who would have thought that he didn't? I thought he was the type to send those kind of pictures to impress girls. "It's your turn I said." After I drank.

"Never have I ever said I am never drinking again." He said with a knowing grin.

I took up my soda can and drink again. "Never have I ever done drugs." I said, lifting my eyebrows curiously at Carson. I don't know why I care, but I felt relief wash over me when he didn't drink. I smiled as I drink again.

"Never have I ever made a prank phone call." Carson said. I did not drink, so Carson brought his can to his lips and took a drink.

"Never have I ever sang karaoke." I said and was surprised when Carson drinks. "Really?" I asked with wide eyes.

Carson rubbed his neck and gave a lopsided smile. "Yeah, my mom took me to a karaoke concert when I was fourteen years old. She practically forced me to go on stage and sing."

I looked at him, still in shock. I mean, it was hard to imagine Carson Knight singing. "What did you sing?" I asked.

"I'm Not The Only One." He said.

"Wow, I wish I could have seen you singing. You need to sing for me for me one of these days." I said.

Carson pretended to think. "Hmm...maybe, maybe."

I gave him a suspicious look. "You're not going to do it are you?" Carson didn't answer, he just smiled.

"Okay fine. It's your turn." I said giving up. There is no way I'm going to hear Carson sing.

"Never have I ever danced on a table at a party." He said with a wink.

"I'm never going to live that down, am I?" I asked as I took a drink. Carson shook his and I rolled my eyes. "Never have I ever peed in a pool."

Carson did not drink. "Peed in a pool? Seriously?" Carson asked.

I sigh as I down the last of my soda. "I didn't know what to say. I'm not good at this game." I said, the added as I lay on the floor. "I don't think I can drink another can of soda. Can we stop now? I've won anyway, because I've finished my soda."

Carson laugh at me. "Okay, but just so you know, you won because you asked me some weird things that you thought I did." He was right, but I laugh anyway. Carson brought both foot up and rest his hands on them. We lay quietly for a while until he said. "Tell me about you."

"I don't know what you want to know about me, because my life is boring."

"Just tell me about yourself and your family, if you don't mind." He said. He then lay down on the carpet beside me and put his hands behind his head.

"Okay." I said. "I was born on May 12. My mom was twenty years old when she had me. She married her high school sweetheart which was my dad. They were happy and so much in love, until my dad died when I was ten."

"What killed him?" Carson asked.

"He was driving home from work one day and his car skidded and hit a tree. He died at hospital." I explained.

Carson braced his hand on his elbow and look over at me. "That must have been devastating for you and your mom." He said quietly.

"Yes it was. I saw my mom break down a lot of times, but mostly she didn't show it. She wanted to be strong for me." I said. "Anyway, things started to get bad for us and in order to support us, she married Allan - my stepfather. They didn't love each other. Three years after that, Mom got lung cancer. She died a year later."

"Wow, I couldn't imagine what you had gone through. First you lost your dad and then mom." Carson looked at me with a sincere and apologetic expression. "I wish you didn't have to go through all that."

I sighed as I remembered my family. The one I had before Allan came into the picture. The one where Mom and Dad were alive and happy. "Yeah, I felt so lost. My father was the best father ever. My mother was more than my mother; she was my best friend. We did everything together. When she died, a part of me died as well." I confessed, then looked at him. "Anyway, you know the rest, so it's your time."

Carson lay his head back on his hands and look up at the ceiling. "Well as you already know, I live with both my parents. My dad, who is a wealthy man, never really cared about me, only his work. He wants me to join him at his company when I graduate. I, however, want to be an engineer. I want to become one ever since I was a small boy. That's it."

I sat up a little and rest my head on my hands. "That's it?" I asked. "You basically told me what I already know. Tell me something that I don't know about Carson Knight."

"Okay. I was afraid of the dark until I was eleven years old." He confessed.

I giggled. "Really? Wow, it's hard to imagine the big bad Carson afraid of the dark until he was eleven." I smile widely, my eyes twinkling mischievously.

"I hope you don't tell anyone about this. If I hear it at school, I'll know it's you." He warned playfully.

"Your secret is safe with me." I replied. I then made an act of zipping up my lips with my fingers. Carson chuckled then give me that heart-stopping smile of his. "So, is there anything else that you want to tell me that I don't know?"

"I like you." He said and I instantly froze. Was he joking with me right now?

"What?" I asked quietly, searching his eyes for any sign of joking. I didn't see any.

Carson moved from his laying position and sat up facing me. I sat up as well. He noticed my wide eyes and the confused look on my face. He smiled at me nervously.

"I said that I like you." He repeated.

I looked at him dumbstruck. I felt my heart stop. He likes me? I didn't know what to say. I couldn't even breath because of the way he was staring at me. He looks so genuine. I felt so happy right now that I wanted to stand up and jump for joy. I can't believe that he actually likes me back. It seems so surreal. Like I was dreaming.

I finally found my voice. "You do?"

He nodded. "Yes I do. I'm not going to deny it."

I smiled at him widely. "Well that's good because I like you too."

His smile was so bright, it melted my heart. He pulled me closer to him and kissed me lightly. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him back passionately. Once again, my heart started beating fast and I felt lightheaded. His kiss was like a drug that I craved for.

Carson broke the kiss and rest his forehead on mine. He stared into my eyes and smiled. "I've wanted to kiss you again ever since I did in the kitchen. All I could think about that night was you and that kiss. It drove me insane." He brushed his hand again my cheek lightly. "So Kitten, does this mean you'll be my girlfriend now?"

I felt my heart burst with happiness. I smiled teasingly at him. "Hmm...what do you think?"

"I think..." He began, grabbing me by the waist and pulling me towards him. He brought his lips close to mine and whispered, "I think you're mine then." Before kissing me again. All words and thoughts left my brain as his lips touched mine. I tighten my arms around his neck and got lost in the kiss.

And you're mine.
