Chapter 13

Principal Fernando picks up the fix as Kara and I observe him. He reads his register and dial a number on the fix.

"Mrs Martin's." He answers. He ain't kidding he is really calling them.

"Is principal Fernando, principal of Eastern high. I'm calling to inform you your daughter have some issues in school." He says his gaze shifting to Kara, who looks like a beat up dog.

"Yeah. Uh huh. Fine." He hangs up. Quickly shifting to the next call without sparing me a glance.

I seriously think he enjoys calling our parents on us.

"Hello." He greets.

Please let it be Dad. Please let it be Dad.

"Mrs Griffin."

My heart drop, and I want to burst out the window, so I don't have to see Mum's face when she'll burst in.

He invites her over and hang the call. "Will you wait outside." He say to us.

We get up and go to the reception. I pray over my doom while she chew on her gum.
