We are living together

"Ah…"

I leaned back into bed. I always guessed we're not a price range… but that's a very big difference!

„ You… could have indicated this when you declared that I was yours…"

"I didn't want you to judge me by my wallet."

„ Say this to the person who gave the ultimatum, that I will either get into bed with him, or I will be jobless… legitimate…"

"Hehe…"

He scratched his head.

"I admit that, it was childish, but I didn't want to miss you."

"And why aren't you in the booze factory?"

"My godfather needs help… he has a couple of stores in the fashion category, and he got the job at Skailors for me,to gain experience."

„ You have been gaining experience for 9 years now … you are doing a really thorough job. When will you help him?"

"He said if he couldn't take it anymore ... he'd give me his company."

„Wow! You already have great power when it comes to alcohol, and you will even have a fashion company… Should I call you Your Majesty from now on?"

He turned to me… and kissed my lips…

"If you want, my queen… eventually half will be yours anyway."

He said, while peeling off my clothes.

It was Saturday, I was walking upside-down only only in a t-shirt all day in the apartment, breaking my head about how I should present to Dereck Vivian's plan, when somebody rang the bell. I ran into the room to pick up some pants, I was sure dad brought something.

„ I'm opening!"

Dereck went to the door.

„Hello!"

The gentle voice said.

„Who is it?"

After I pulled up the jogging pants, I headed for the entrance.

„Vivian… what are you doing here?"

"Well, you know…"

Then she saw me and I saw her.

„ Sophie… you… why are you here? „

She asked in surprise. For me, my feet were rooted to the ground. We got busted.

„We live together. „

Dereck replied calmly.

„Like… roommates?"

„Like a couple."

I swallowed hard, it was an information that's not in a very good place at her… and as soon as Dereck answered her question, I saw a light in my mother's eyes that I had never seen before. Satisfaction. I didn't know what to think, but I was sure it didn't mean much good.

I was lucky. Max woke up by Monday morning, and the doctors said he could return to the office after another two weeks of rest and observation. Thus, the sudden supply problem was solved for the time being, without Vivian revealing our relationship to Thomas.

After Saturday's surprise visit, Vivian disappeared suspiciously quickly, so I couldn't take it any further, and told Dereck what my mother's real goal actually was.

„Dereck… the harpy came here today because he wants me to be heir."

"Pfft…"

He spat out.

"WHAT?"

He waited in disbelief for the details.

"He wants the Skyfield family to adopt me in the absence of an heir, so I could take over the company."

I sat down at the table in shame… I didn't want to believe that I could share DNA with this woman.

„ Haha!"

„Dereck this is serious! Thomas, if he finds out, I'll be fired right away and he'll divorce from Vivian too… the latter is no big deal..but I don't want everyone to think I'm like my mother!"

I was very worried and Dereck saw that. He wiped the tears from his eyes.

„ Sophie. You will never be the CEO of any Skyfield company, because there are heirs… they are just not ready yet."

„Who?"

"Descendants of Mr. Lors and Max's daughter."

"I heard that little girl would ruin the company."

"That's right. That's why, when it turned out that the little boy won't be fit to run the company either, Samantha was pre-engaged to a young genius. The wedding will be in 3 years. The American branch will be taken over in 10 years by the boy, who is still studying at university. And the English headquarters, if something happens to Thomas, will be led by the current Mr. Lors and the presidency will be added."

„Oh, I see."

"You're completely unnecessarily worried… Vivian doesn't know about these things, because she has nothing to do with it, and Thomas hates her anyway, so in hindsight I can see now that she's not a good person."

"Yes, yes… but could you somehow let her know?"

„ I'll talk to her."

"Oh, and does she know you're a billionaire by the way?"

I asked as I walked into the room.

„She has a clue."

„Hah… no wonder she liked it..."

„Anyway… Sophie."

„ Yes?"

"You can't be adopted without your father and your consent, so don't worry. Vivian's imaginations are completely unfeasible."

„ All right. „

I smiled at him.
