This is karma, B*tch part I.

The next day, Dereck invited Vivian for lunch to the VIP room of a prestigious hotel, so they could have a quiet chat.

"This invitation is so kind of you."

She looked enthusiastically at the menu.

„ Nothing. Feel free to ask for everything, I don't want you to leave unhappy."

Vivian noticed that Dereck was much more distant, brittle… maybe he found out who she really was…

„ So you and Sophie? Is this a serious matter?"

She put down the empty glass after finishing lunch.

"Yes, I want to marry her next year, of course, if she wants it too."

There was no emotion in Dereck's voice.

„ Hm."

A wide smile sat on her face.

„ Very lucky girl, you are a grand prize."

"As you say, it's completely unreasonable to bring up your daughter's name in front of Thomas, because one way or another, she'll be rich."

"Well, yes…"

She snapped.

'So he knows what my plan was.'

She put a smile back on her face.

"It's a shame you won't see a penny out of her property."

„ Khm… what do you mean? „

She asked nervously.

„ Oh, you didn't know…?"

He pulled out a document, and put it ont he table, right under her nose.

„ I marked the most important part for you.

Vivian grabbed the paper, it was the divorce document. Dereck marked the paragraph stating that she gave up all parental rights… She turned pale white.

' I see it fell. You have nothing to do with my bride other than that pair of DNA. The American branch has an heir, so your plan to push Sophie by adoption as CEO was already dead in its germ.'

"Do you think I'll just give up the little gold check?"

Dereck clenched his fist… For a very long time, he held Vivian in high esteem for her talent as a designer, and he sincerely believed that a great designer and a benevolent soul helping in orphanages was her true self. Now, however, he had to realize that a woman who was leaving her own child for money, even after all these years, was just looking at the price tag on people… Sophie's value suddenly jumped up by a few more zero, so it's useful… but she still can't call her daughter..but what? Money bag?!

„They'll fire her from the company right away if it turns out that I was the one, who got her in… or maybe that she wanted to sit in the director's chair through your bed… reporters love such stories…"

„If someone, then You know…"

„Sure, I know. Which one of us, will do worse if Sophie's career crashes?"

She leaned back defiantly, crossing her arms and legs.

„ Unfortunately, you can't always have your way with lies…Didn't you forget something by the way?"

„Forget what?"

"You're just a paper wife, Thomas divorces you the moment his father dies. I, on the other hand, am one of the richest people in the country, so… guess which one of us will end up living on the street if you make a wrong move."

„ Hahaha… are you threatening now? After what I did for you? Who was like mother instead of your mother? Maybe you forgot?"

„No. I am grateful for what you did for me… even if you did it just because you saw a benefit in me, that's why you can still be in the Skyfield family… but you left your daughter, you sealed the empty bank account you opened with your parental rights with your own signature me. Do you want to hurt us by rumoring about our relationship? Go ahead. We both know that Sophie will work for my company for as long as she wants, and Thomas will be happy to part with you the moment I hand her the documents of your embezzlement."

„ Ah ... what? How?"

She gasped for air, but Dereck's cynical smile made it clear that he wasn't kidding.

„This is not fair! You can't do this to me! I can't lose everything twice because of a mistake!"

She burst into tears.

„ Why…? Why can't I get a little more shares? Do I want so much? I just want to be a little richer than average… is it such a big sin?"

"You've been a lot richer than average for a long time, you just can't appreciate it."

„ It's easy to say this as a billionaire! Why are you better than me? Since Sophie is better than me, does she deserve a loving rich husband? Why does happiness come to her… what is it, if it is not injustice?"

She stood up, puffing.

„ This is karma, bitch."

Dereck said the verdict with an ice-cold look, then left the downed Vivian there in the restaurant.

When Dereck got home all he said was:

„Problem solved."

He stroked my head with a smile, and I believed him.

I really haven't seen Vivian for a while.
