A Day As Adam Darkwates, The Girl Version Of Him

Chapter 37

The moment I walked into Adam's first period Art, ugh, I knew I probably wouldn't survive the day, his friend Clare, the one with red hair and green eyes smiled at me, "Hi Avery, come on, I saved you a seat next to me."

I smiled, "Sure." It felt so weird being called by my own name by someone who wasn't Adam or Adam's family.

We sat through the lecture about body proportions and how to draw them.

I had no idea what she was talking about at all. it sounded like she was speaking Latin or something, ugh.

I was so confused by the end of the 1st period, I am horrible at art, I literally can't even draw a stick figure, sigh. Clare walked next to me, waving at me as we parted ways in the hallway. I waved back, smiling.

I quickly headed to the 2nd period, I took notes the entire science class, trying to make my handwriting look like Adam's. He wrote in an elegant scroll, while I, on the other hand, had very messy handwriting.

When class was over Adam's friends, Clare, Zoey, and Stephanie walked over to me asking, "Hey, Avery, do you want to go to the mall after school today? We can go shopping and maybe watch a movie, too."

I thought about it for a second, would Adam agree? Probably, I mean, he likes shopping well enough, I smiled, "Sure, I'll go shopping with you after school."

Classes flew by fast, 3rd period was math, 4th period was Biology, 5th period was ELA, and 6th period was PE.

PE was the only class I was worried about, what if I mess up the makeup on my face? I don't know how to reapply it, what if my wig falls off? There were so many what-ifs going through my head that I didn't realize I had walked into the boy's locker room.

I looked up, the guys in the locker room were staring at me, I blushed, whoops, wrong locker room, I forgot I wasn't at Princeton High, I muttered an embarrassed, "Sorry." Before turning on my heel and going into the girl's locker room.

I quickly found Adam's cubby/tiny locker and changed into the clothes.

When I got into the line, the PE teacher was taking attendance, after she called our name, we had to run a warm-up lap.

We were running the mile today, I loved to run, I like going fast and keeping that pace, my fastest mile time was 6:19.

When PE was over, I texted Adam to tell him about the trip to the mall, and to ask him how school had been for him.

Texting:

Me: How has ur day been?

Adam: Help me.

Me: That bad?

Adam: Yes, ugh, Darius asked me to take off my shirt in front of him to prove that I'm a boy. Ugh, I had to show him my chest, so embarrassing.

Me: Hahaha, is that the only thing?

Adam: No, I have not been my fabulous self for an entire day! Ugh, and you get to go shopping! While I have to stay at school and pretend to be not feeling well.

Me: It is not like I want to go, I have to, I agreed and what ur doing right now would have been ur life if u hadn't found me.

Adam: And u would be a depressed little girl if I hadn't found u.

Me: Yeah, not really.

Adam: (rolling eyes (I think I just saw my brain)) If u say so, Avery.

Me: Yeah, yeah, whatever, I need to go, ur friends are asking me to hurry up. bye

Adam: bye

Not texting:

I wasn't lying, Clare was waving her arm around at me, I walked over to the girls, "Hi, sorry for taking so long, I was texting with my brother, Adam."

Clare smiled, "That's okay."

Zoey smiled a small smile, "So are we going now?"

Stephanie shrugged, "If you are all ready, then let's go."

Thomas picked us up and dropped us off at the mall.

We spent a few hours just walking around and buying girly things, or at least they did, I just bought a few pieces of clothing, like jeans, shirts, and other things. I made sure I didn't go over 60 dollars on the stuff, my total price was 52 dollars and 67 cents.

By the time the shopping trip was over, I was so tired, how does Adam do this almost every other day? Thomas picked us up and dropped the girls at their house. When I finally made it back home, all I wanted to do was crawl into my bed and sleep.

When I got back home, Adam was already there, watching TV, "So? How did practice go? Is Darius off our backs?"

He sighed, "Practice went fine, Darius has given up for now."

I smiled, "That's good, I bought some clothes from the shopping trip, I made sure to use under 60 dollars."

Adam immediately perked up, "Really? What did you get? You don't have to worry about the cost of it." He reached out his hand, "Gimme."

Handing him the bag, I shrugged, "A few shirts and jeans."

Adam looked through the bag, "At least you only bought one big ugly sweater this time."

I glared, "They aren't ugly, they are comfy and nice."

He rolled his eyes, "Whatever you say, Avery."

We ordered food and watched some TV, and then I took a shower and brushed my teeth. I said good night to Adam, and then I read for a while before falling asleep.
