Christmas Shopping

Chapter 52

Adam

Stretching my arms over my head, I yawned. I was fairly used to waking up at 5:45 am to do my makeup, put on my wig, and choose my clothes. It was a daily routine that I needed and was used to doing.

Forty-five minutes of makeup, fifteen to twenty minutes for my wig, fifteen minutes for clothes, and another fifteen minutes for breakfast.

About an hour after breakfast, I knocked on Avery's door, "Oi, get up, I'm taking you shopping."

"Shut up, Adam! I'm sleeping, leave me alone, and go away!"

"Avery, get up!"

"I don't wanna, leave me alone and let me sleep!"

"Well, you're awake now, might as well come shopping with me. I need to buy you a present for Christmas."

Avery opened the door, and wrapped her arms around me, "There's no need to buy me a present, you've already done so much for me. Besides, it was my birthday yesterday, I've already got my presents."

Pulling back, she smiled, "I feel bad enough that I don't have anything to give you unless I buy it with your money or make it with your things."

I pouted, "But I want to buy you stuff because that means I can buy you girly clothes and dress you up like the little doll you are. So if you want to give me something, just dress up like a girl and model clothes for me. That will be my present."

She sighed, "Is that all you want?"

"Yep, all I want for Christmas is you."

Avery grinned, "Fine, I'll model clothes for you if that's what you want."

"Great, I'll call Thomas- whoops, I forgot he had the day off."

I paused for a second, "Hmm, do you think any of the boys would want to go shopping with us?"

After a second of thinking, she shrugged, "Mark? Or maybe William if he needs help choosing a gift for his sister. Dunno."

Hmm, I'll call them both and ask, "Okay, I'll ask them if they want to come with us."

She sighed, "But then I won't be able to model for you if Mark comes. He still doesn't know about our condition."

Welp, there's that, but, "How about this? You just model for me the day after Christmas?"

Nibbling on her lip, Avery nodded, "Okay, if that works for you, sure. Let's do that."

Clapping my hands together excitedly, "Great, I'm going to text the boys now. Give me a few."

The Friends Chat

Me: Heyo, who wants to go on a Christmas shopping trip with me and Adam?

William: Sure, mind if I bring my sister along?

Me: No problem

Me: Oh, would u drive a car? Adam and I need a lift, Thomas has the day off and tomorrow too.

William: Sure

Me: Great

Mark: Christmas shopping trip? I wanna come too.

Mark: Can I?

Me: Yep, sure thing

Mark: Yippee

Shane: I WANT TO COME TOO

Mark: Why caps?

Shane: Dunno, felt like it

Mark: Understandable

Me: ...weirdos

Me: Anyway, I'll wait a second so Alex can pop out of nowhere and decides to join our Christmas shopping trip

Alex: Aye-o, I'm here

Alex: Ooo, what's this?

Alex: I want to come too

Me: …

Me: I knew it

Me: Okay

Me: So as I was saying (typing) William, can you pick Adam and me up at 8:55 am?

William: Sure

Adam (aka Avery): Hey, sorry, but could you make it 9:25? Snow pooped all over the floor, then touched it with her tail, and Little Buddy decided to help by peeing next to the poop.

Me: They did what?

William: Sure

I put the phone down and walked out of my room, "Avery, what happened?"

She looked up at me and glared at our pets, "These two little crapping furballs made a mess."

Snow at least had the decency to hang her head and look a little mournful. On the other hand, Little Buddy just looked proud and happy about what he had just accomplished.

After cleaning up the mess the cats had made, we took quick 5-minute showers. A few minutes after the showers, William arrived, with his little sister in tow.

He introduced us, gesturing with his arm, "Hey, guys. This is my sister Lily. She will be joining us so she can pick out her Christmas gift and act surprised when she opens it tomorrow in front of our parents."

Lily pulled his arm down and grinned, "So these are your friends. I've been wondering if all of William's friends were made up in his head. But turns out, he's not crazy."

Avery smiled, "Hi, Lily. Nice to meet you."

"Hi, there Adam. At least I assume your Adam." She turned towards me, "So that makes you Avery?"

Staring at William, I raised my eyebrows, "Yep, I'm Avery." I gestured to the real Avery, "and this is my brother Adam." Turning toward the door, "Can we go now? I want to get to the mall."

William nodded, "Sure, let's go." He held the door open for us.

I went last and muttered to him, "You didn't tell your sister about Avery and I's condition?"

He shook his head, "No, I had a feeling you wanted to have as few people as you can have know about it."

"Thanks," I muttered and walked over to where Avery and Lily were at.

Avery and I got into the back seat while William and Lily sat in the front of the car.

When we got to the mall, Alex, Mark, and Shane were already there. Alex had worn shades with a baseball cap. I guess that was for trying to conceal his identity? It wasn't really working that well. I could clearly tell that was him from inside the car and about 60 feet away.

Getting out of the car, we walked over to them.

Mark smiled, "Hey, you guys are finally here." He looked behind us, "Who's this?"

Lily walked over to him, holding out her hand, "Hi, I'm Lily, William's sister. Nice to meet you."

He smiled, "I'm Mark, William's friend. Nice to meet you too." He gestured to the two boys behind him, "and those two are Shane and Alex."

"Hi." They both said at the same time.

She waved at them, "Hi." Turning towards us, "Can we start shopping now?"

William nodded, "Let's get you a Christmas present."

Hours later, and dozens of shopping bags later, we were done. Lily got a purse, clothes, and some makeup. Shane got food and other stuff he won't tell us about. Mark got us all matching leather bracelets, including Lily and me. Alex got a bunch of random stuff, stuffed animals, books, earrings, food, clothes, a suit and tie, and also a ring. William didn't get anything. Avery had gotten three books and I had practically gotten her a new wardrobe, she had almost fainted when she saw the price of it all. And of course, I got clothes as well as bags, shoes, and (secretly) a new wig.

We said goodbye to the boys and Willaim drove us home. After they helped unload our bags, we said thank you and goodbye, "Thanks, William. See ya, Lily. Have a nice night."

Lily smiled, "See ya, you too."

Avery smiled, "Bye William."

He looked out the car window at her and nodded, "Bye Adam. See you soon."

We waved goodbye as they drove away.

When we went back inside, Avery announced, "I'm going to go take a shower. I'm covered in sweat and I'm a little tired from carrying all your bags."

"Sure, sure, I'm tired too. How about you put up the tree later and I'll wrap the presents?"

"Yeah, okay, later."

After we both took a shower and rested for an hour, we set up the small Christmas tree and wrapped the presents.

Then we ate dinner, said goodnight and then we both went to bed, or at least I did. Avery probably stayed up another hour to read.

Settling into the bed, I clicked off the lights and fell asleep right when my head hit the pillow.
