Chp 10:Pancakes

Evan's POV:

I awoke to the sweet fragrance of fresh fluffy pancakes being cooked in the kitchen.

My eyes flutter open and adjust to the light in a few seconds before I wake up properly and follow the sweet smell.

"Good Morning!" Lucas chirped excitedly with a bubbly smile plastered on his lips.

"Morning kitty" I teased, earning a small pout.

"Watcha cooking?"

"Pancakes!"

I look over at the pan and see a fluffy red pancake. "What's that? Since when were Pancakes red?" I inquired.

"It's a special vampire blood pancake! I was gonna make normal pancakes but all you had was blood in the fridge so I got some ingredients from the local store and made some pancakes that can give you some nutrients."

Shocked by all effort he put in to just make breakfast for me, even though I would of just been fine with the usual sip of blood left me speechless.

"W-wow. I never thought I'd ever see blood pancakes." I chuckled, with a charming smile directed at the tiny blonde.

"Hehe, well I figured this could be a new experience rather than the same old blood you drink." He chuckled in return.

I sat at the table and waited for my special breakfast to be served. Lucas was in an unusually good mood. I thought he'd pout some more at my teasing, guess I haven't teased him enough.

The small boy did a little jiggle of the hips as he cooked listening to his wireless earphones. Earning a chuckle from me and a small smile lifting my face.

Not long after a plate of blood red pancakes covered in more blood as a syrup was presented in front of me. It didn't look too appetising but it tasted amazing. The pancake recipe made the blood taste even sweeter. The pancakes melted in my mouth and easily slid down my throat.

" My thanks to the chef for a tantalizing breakfast!" I complemented.

Lucas sat opposite to me and had his own pancakes, minus the blood.

" I know right these have got to be the best pancakes I've tasted in ages, this chef is a genius." He mocked in a sarcastic tone.

"They are truly exquisite!" I continued.

silence fell for a few seconds before we bursted out with laughter together. Cackling like a couple witches creating concoctions in their Calderon.

Wiping a tear from my eye I calmed myself from my laughing fit and settled back down in my seat.

" You know" Lucas started.

"It still amazes me that you can eat human food. Something that seems impossible is possible."

The statement re-lights a light bulb in my head I had completely forgotten about. My Compulsion, Lucas was immune. It had no effect on him.

"Speaking of impossible things. Can I test something out on you? don't worry I won't do anything that will harm you. I just need to confirm something." I questioned, ensuring him with his safety.

"Huh? Umm, I guess it's okay." Lucas permitted.

I walked over to Lucas and my eyes began to glow blood red. Lucas was quite startled by the sight of my eyes, probably reminding him of his first encounter with my vampiristic eyes. "Don't worry, it's okay." I reassured.

He calmed down a bit after that and I began to command him. " Cook me some more pancakes!"
