There stood a tall man. He was well built with short brunette hair that defined his face. He had a white shirt and denim jacket with black denim jeans. A real cool style that told you he was an alpha.
But my alpha was Evan. He was just as well built and even more attractive in my eyes. I went to gaze over at my vampire but Evan had the look of worry plastered on his face. His brows were furrowed and he looked lost in thought.
I stepped closer towards him unconsciously, making a creak on the wooden floor boards. 'Crap. Rule number one of eavesdropping, don't get caught.' Everyone's eyes landed on me.
"Lucas! I didn't know you were up." Evan raised his eyebrows back up in surprise. Completely brought out of thought with just a single glance of me.
"Uhhh. Yeah I just woke up actually." I rubbed the back of my head to ease the tension building.
Evan walked over to me and grabbed hold of my hand, reassuring me with this simple gesture.
A small blush made it's way to my cheeks the moment he showed the smallest intimate move in front of others. He didn't care what anyone else thought, he just cared about me. I hid my face from the sudden embarrassment, looking down to my feet.
Evan, seeing me hiding my face, squeezed my hand tighter. This didn't help of course because I was blushing because of him. 'Silly adorable vampire.' I thought to myself.
"Evan, this is Ren. He's Layla's brother." Lucas gestured a hand towards the tall brunette man and the man waved in return.
"Sup." He simply greeted me like casual.
I hesitantly waved back. I was only a few steps away from Ren now and He had a similar terrifying aura like his sister. Not as scary but still pretty up there. His looks and attitude did not reflect his aura at all.
The man casually walked closer towards me and Evan. He looked directly into my eyes, his Yellow orbs didn't turn red though, so he wasn't trying to compell me or anything. He just looked directly into my diamond eyes, almost as if he was reaching into my soul.
As sweat formed on my forehead, he backed away. After realizing how uncomfortable his action made me feel he apologized.
"Sorry, that was rather rude of me. It's just that your core is rather pure for a humans is all."
"My core?" I questioned. 'What was this intimidating guy on about?'
"Yeah, your core. Every living being has a core and depending on what type of creature you are depends on how pure your core will be. I guess you could think of your core as like your soul or your spirit."
"But occasionally you will get exceptions, like you. Who ethier have a more purer or lighter soul than usual or a more unpure or darker soul."
Ren throughly explained, not missing a single detail and trying to compare his terminology to mine, making it easier to understand.
"It's not necessarily a bad thing when your core is purer, if anything it makes you more angelic." He left on a good note, seeing as how tense I had become with all the new talk. Good thing he did so, I was starting to think I was some kind of freak. But turns out I'm more like an angel in disguise.
